I appreciate how encouraging you are. Contemplating choosing this business model as my next singular all-in focus.. weighing pros & cons. Thank you tremendously.
Thank you, Hannah! I look forward to every video of yours. I've been an Etsy handmade seller for years, but am moving into the POD space to be able to scale, while being more passive. You just convinced me to apply to Amazon, so wish me luck! I'll watch your video on the application process 1st. Have a wonderful week!
As a handmade seller already familiar with Etsy, I firmly believe you’ll have a leg up in understanding how everything works and what shoppers are looking for! Wishing you the best of luck!
Hi! Can I ask you some questions, please? How much capital do I need to be able to start with Printify? I don’t know how Printify works, is it the same with Teepublic? Thank you in advance.
Nice Video, Amazon do not allow the packages shipped by print on demand companies to have a name and address on packaging of print on demand company. They want the information on packaging to amazon seller's information. How do you get around that ? Thanks in advance for answering.
Thanks for this! Curious if you’ve tried Podly and how you think it compares to Merch Informer? Also, it would be cool to see a video of your daily workflow; like if you upload 10 designs to Merch, just a walkthrough of your whole process start to finish. Just an idea!
Great idea for a DITL or workflow video. I haven’t personally tried Podly. I’ve been using MI for about 3 years and have good success with it, so I haven’t felt the need to change.
Wonderful, easy to follow. Re-booting this process after life took me in another direction for a while, so this was great as a refresher and for beginner! :)
For weeks, I've been trying to find ANY TH-cam video to help me make print-on-demand mugs to sell on "Amazon." The videos out there have been TERRIBLE! There are now AI videos as well that are soooooooo bad I can't image how anyone even watches. Yours is the best I've seen so far! I am just not sure I understand completely the difference between having a seller's account on Amazon and Merch Amazon? I assumed they were one and the same but I'm guessing not? Just trying to find ONE TH-cam video on how to go about print-on-demand mugs for Amazon was like a needle in a haystack! I am also a web designer and pick up things pretty quickly but this has had me going around in circles! Isn't there a designer tool on Amazon for creating? Would love to hear from you and thank you for your WONDERFUL video!!!!!
So glad you've found my videos helpful! Unfortunately mugs are not a product that Amazon has as part of the Amazon Merch program yet. I hope that they add them someday, but that's probably why you're having a hard time finding videos.
@@hannahebeling I'm sorry I don't understand. They still do sell mugs and they still do on demand right just through the sellers window not through Merch? Right? I was hoping you could answer that question, lol and thank you once again!
Hi Hannah! I've been watching Etsy & POD videos for about a month. I found you recently and your one of my faves. I haven't started because I'm confused with niches. I think I want to start with apparel. Do I choose just one niche or can I create for different niches (cross niches) in my store? So for example, I saw your video on different niches that might do good, I remember library/books, cottagecore, dogs, etc. Could I create designs for all of those niches and post it to my store or would it be better to just stick to one?
Thank you so much, Hannah. Really helpful video. What are your thoughts about designing with a laptop vs. a large desktop monitor? Do you strongly recommend the latter?
@@hannahebeling I never would have guessed, Hannah. I’m a professional editor and have a hard enough time working from a laptop, so I figured the small screen would be even more challenging when designing graphics. Many thanks for getting back to me and for your encouragement. :-)
Great question! It won’t show you stickers, but often by seeing what is trending on shirts will give you a good idea of what is selling on other products too.
Okay, so this is something I am 100% excited about. In your opinion, Hannah, what would be an approximate start-up cost for the 1st three months? I understand every business requires some sort of start-up fees. I'm thinking Etsy POD would be my 1st go to just to get my feet wet. I'm a Cdn, so I'm thinking that when you refer to all the platforms you use, would work in Canada too, yes? Any help is greatly appreciated TIA
Etsy is a great place to start! I have a full walk through guide and some q&as that might be helpful. Since you pay for the wholesale cost of the items when they are purchased before Etsy reimburses you, I would have maybe a couple hundred dollars you’re okay with spending initially (you will get paid back plus profit of course). And I would suggest getting a design suite maybe like kittl so 10-15 a month for that! Pretty low startup costs.
@hannahebeling I think I'll be taking a leap of faith this weekend when I have some downtime 🤞 You're such an invaluable asset to this community and I'm happy your videos showed in my feeds. Side question I just thought of, if I wanted to do stickers, let's say, can that be an option thru POD?
Thank you! I'm a bit confused on the clear difference of the 'daily' tasks needed to do for each design. Do you offer a video or course on step-by-step daily order of things to do for passive POD? And, do you offer private lessons?! @@hannahebeling
Hannah, love the videos, they have been really helpful especially as I am trying to learn/figure out the whole Listing/Descriptions/SEO bit. I did have a question regarding using Sale Samurai. In your experience with selling across different platforms, do you find that the data the Sale Samurai gives you which is based on Etsy also holds true for other platforms like Amazon Merch or would you suggest different tools for that? I am just curious if your listing descriptions/tags need to vary much or if you find that if a listing is successful on one platform it tends to also work on others? Thanks for helping out a noob. ;-)
Great question! I definitely find Sale Samurai most helpful for Etsy. In my own business I tend to do most of my niche research for Amazon on Merch Informer, but I definitely could see you looking for trends on SS as well. I don’t think the keywords would be as helpful as seeing how many clicks and views different search terms like “groovy teachers last day of school shirt” got.
@@hannahebeling Thanks Hannah!...sooo many tools and platforms...it gets overwhelming (and expensive) real quickly. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have to say about Redbubble.
Many people are angry because the new fees and say are leaving Redbubble. They say Redbubble is punishing the small sellers more than the big sellers. Is it still worth it for me, a small seller, uploading more designs on redbubble? Thank you for your help Hannah. God bless.
Great question! I’ve shared about my opinions about it before, but after many changes made to the platform, I don’t think it’s a great option for those wanting to sell POD passively.
Unfortunately, there was a person who stirred up a lot of confusion and started this “rumor.” Since then Canva has even cleared this up. We can use them for POD as long as we transform in some way. Same as always.
Hannah is right below. Canva is still a wonderful site for so many things. Just remember if you use already made template - change it up to make it your own. I think most of us already knew that. Good Luck!
Thank you for your great information Hannah, but I guess you only want to hear all positive comments, as mine keep getting deleted, and as a newbie, I was really hoping to hear your feedback as a successful POD promoter.
Hi Wendy! I don’t delete comments on my channel and do my best to respond to every one. TH-cam does automatically filter out comments it thinks could be spam, so maybe some words you used could have triggered that.
Is it true Redbubble is taking 50% of your sale now? I know they have tears now but I think I will stay away from them. I think they are going to loose a lot of sellers. Thanks for this video - I needed a kick to get going again. I think I froze after looking and learning all about the POD business. Also looking into affiliate marketing.
With the tier system there are going to be fees on the earnings of most accounts. 50% is on the high end of the fees, most range around 30-40%. I have a complete video with my thoughts coming out tomorrow on this exact topic.
I appreciate how encouraging you are. Contemplating choosing this business model as my next singular all-in focus.. weighing pros & cons. Thank you tremendously.

It is currently closed for enrollment, but I plan to open up some more seats early in the New Year!

Hi Hannah, what is your pricing strategy for these different sites? Keep the price the same for items across all platforms or different for each site?
Great question! I actually have a video on this exact topic titled: my exact pricing strategy 2023.

Absolutely not! I think you should use what you have! I started on and still use a laptop to do POD.

Great question and actually the topic on Thursday’s video! I’m gonna share my thoughts on the new tiers and staying vs leaving.
Question: dont you still pay for the product to be made etc?
It depends on the platform. On Etsy yes, but on Amazon and places like redbubble, no.

@@hannahebeling so it's not a great start for beginners then?
Because it's been around for decades now and people want new and fancier platforms
