I've driven this Coach a few thousand K's when owned by the restorer Ken Turnbull. He drove it when he worked for Ansett-Roadways and many years later bought it off Ansett-Pioneer and it sat in a shed for 25 years until he decide to restore it back to its glory. Its first official run back on the road was to re-enact the first Ansett-Pioneer Express from Melbourne to Sydney in January 2005. It was accompanied by 9 other Clippers a PD4107 and an MC7. Thanks Ken for the memories.
What a beautiful bus, a classic ideal for Mexican roads to go to Guadalajara, Acapulco, Monterrey, Morelia, Oaxaca, Puebla, Cuernavaca, Querétaro, Toluca and Pachuca and Mexico City
Back in the 70s I knew of two Flxible buses, one 46 and one 48. The 46 had been converted to a GMC V6 when the original Buick 8 blew but the 48 still had it's original engine. Both were garage kept and in very nice shape. The 46 was given away by the hotel that owned it behind my back after I chased after it for years. They donated it to the Boy Scouts! The 48 was a bit more expensive than I could afford and I'm not sure what happened to that one. It sounded just like an old Buick when running! It was amazing.
Ok why dose it have a "Cummins" badge on it? Also seeing that it has a modern radio/cd player at 0:27 makes me wonder what the original radios were for these busses
@@rogerwhiting9310 If it was built new for export it would have come with right hand drive if specified that way. I wonder if it has its original engine?
@@soillife1 first of all they arent Flexible... they are Flxible. They were manufactured BY GM in Ohio. It said it right on the bus. I dont know where you get your information
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars, trucks and busses including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. They even plan to reduce the pump speed of public gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to only 2 litre per minute to punish owners of combustion cars....from 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a completely new kind of crime here in Germany, called emissions and smoke crime.
I've known ever since it was formed that the EU was totally screwed up but this is ridiculous! You can bet the politicians will have included options that allow them to keep driving their luxury vehicles.

Is this the bus which came through Edenhope (Victoria). I live in the bus depot in Edenhope and would like a photograph of the bus.
Offroad?
Who put a hole in the boot lid? That panel was cut from a VW Roof. So if you want to replace it, its easy, just find an old VW Bug.
