What a stunning piece of USA motoring history. We need to see these vehicles restored back to their original factory set up. One thing we all know about enthusiasts in the USA is that their all bloody good at these kinds of projects. Imagine that bus being converted to a camper?
Very nice! You could easily convert this into a motorhome as many people are saying here. One of my classmates converted a horse trailer into a camper. Horse trailer only took about maybe, 5 or 6 months to build. It takes about almost a week to fully air out the platform and the walls and roof. After pressure washing with mild soapy water. (Repeat the next day if odor is still strong.) You need to separate both of them otherwise it'll take 3-5 weeks to air out (About a month). With all the doors open.
Nice to see about the oldest flxible I've seen so far! Have always liked the unique, rounded back. So streamline. The front is what shows it's an early one.
OMG this bus is in very good condition what's nice is its all flat glass very cheap to replace the body is in very good condition and it has the really neat storage rack on the inside but in my opinion it needs to to have and international diesel straight inline 6 or a V6 Detroit to make it more roadworthy it would be absolutely an honor to restore this old bus good luck with this wonderful piece of American history
@ArtofModeling my father recently purchased this bus, its located in central Arkansas. we dont know much about these flxibles and are looking for as much help as possible with rebuild information and or parts.
Ryan Barry you might want to contact the museum of bus transportation in Hershey, PA. I know they have at least one of these buses and might be able to help if you still have this bus
Nice to see one still original, sort of. I could have bought a real nice 48, all original with buick 8 back in the 70s for $3000. I'm sorry I didn't take it.
@@RyanSamuelBarry - Wow, I'm surprised someone hasn't snapped her up already. Does she run? What are y'all asking, if you don't mind me asking? She needs a ton of work, but they just don't make 'em like this anymore.
@@RyanSamuelBarry - I would honestly love the opportunity to own a Flxible Clipper or Starliner, but I just don't have the means or the location to do so at the moment. Thank you for offering to get a price from your father, but I was asking mostly for my own curiosity. I've seen how much these buses go for restored, but I've often wondered what people ask for the ones like yours that are just a blank canvas for a future restoration. The fact that she's still somewhat in running condition is a plus. I wish you and your father luck on the sale of this awesome machine. She really is a beauty.
A reader mentioned he knew someone that converted a horse trailer into a camper. Washed it good to get smell out! I had helluva time gett'n stink outta my house after niece and here raunchy little dog (never bathed it) left. I mean there was hair, fleas, ticks and stains. Some people live filthy because of pets.
Man, this is one INCREDIBLE piece of transportation, seen lots of these buses in old movies, but that's about it........it looks AMAZING,,,,not sure what you could do with it, other than turn it into a motor home....yes, parts could be a problem, as for engines, I was told once they had the old Bhuda? diesel engines...(some early Kenworths used them). Or they may be Hercules engines...hmmm. Anyway, best of luck on this job....hope you get her done!
@@thevacuumtubejunky9774 All of the Australian licenced production Clippers made by Ansair (a division of the now defunct Ansett Airways) had factory Deutz diesels in them. Ohhh no.... wowww... Really hats off to to those whoever protected this bus for such a long period. Very Beautiful! Is this Chevy or Ford?
the style is blinding. everything had a lot of style during that time.

Great maintenance sir
Why are we being shown the bus? Is it for sale? Has the person taking the video bought it to restore it? Why is there no audio? Is the person shy?
The last Flxible I saw had a Buick straight-8 in it
Except it has 4 round headlights and the front windows more lines with the body

I have one. It's a motor home. Got it for $300.
IF I had a bus like this it'd be restored AS a bus & not a motor home like so many have become
I'd do a few mods here & there but not alot
Would makr for a beautiful custom conversion; with alott of creature comforts. Let chip fuzz handle the body & custom work.
It's beautiful
Paul Bedwell
would make a cool mobile home, with a paint job and perhaps a better engine, detroit V6 perhaps??
Where is this bus ????!!!

Sorry, but it's not a 1941. It was probably built after WWll. I doubt the serial number matches the title.
Mykl Winn looks like a 41 to me .

did it come with the buick straight 8 or did it have a Hall Scott from the factory?
