You can buy fusible facing you know. Interfacing is stiff and is usually spun not woven, so sewing a sturdy fabric to it, doesn't require pins and surely not basting.

However, there are some fabrics where you cannot use excessive heat. And personally I find that you can get a better quality final product if you sew the interfacing on. Making sure that your pieces are cut accurately enough so that when you start sewing you don't have an excess on one end is a talent learned through years of experience.
This bag had so much detail that if I hadn't seen the end result, I would have been wondering how it would turn out. The design was very unique and stitched beautifully. Thank you for this tute and pattern and am newly subscribed.

Thank you for your video and the pdf patterns. I'm not very familiar with how Google docs works, but did find that just clicking on the pdf's isn't enough, you have to actually download the documents - at least that is what worked for me.

I know don't for sure but it looks like felt to me. I want to make one and I think I will use felt for the interfacing. Not a floppy one but one with a bit of firmness.

Lol! I’m a bit concerned about that as well, but I’m going to use a denim needle and go slow slow slow. Maybe I should wear safety glasses just in case the needle snaps 😅
Perfectly made pouch. I dont like the sped-up footage though, It disturbs my vision, that might be due to my age and declining vision. There are certainly parts which can be edited out if you want to shorten the video, such as you dont need to show each of the two sides being worked or prepped and worked as we can see from the result , its obvious.I appreciate showing us the stitching so we understand when it needs to be done really close to the edge but actually your nice diagramme of the stitching line is perfectly enough.
A good video that could have been great. Not all of us have a printer, so dimensions on the pattern or video would have been nice. What is the finished size? How long of zipper is needed?

try looking at a similar video by 'sewinterest' here on youtube, that version shows measurements (tutorial title: Open Wide Zippered Pouch Tutorial )

I found that if you set your printer to "fit to paper" it will give you the correct size. At least it seems to be about the size she has in the video.
I had the same issue, I had to download it, then open it from the downloads folder in the computer. Hope that helps :)

I think they are the long pointed variety used to thread overlock machines, so try a shop that sells those machines.
