I actually didn't know Amagi was only partially underwater. Awesome model! I'd love to see you create a model of the USS Saratoga wreck if you ever get the chance.
Your extremely talented …your attention to detail is perfection ! You honored the brave souls who served on that ship too. I’d love to see you do a masterpiece of the Liner Normandie
This model is epic! I don’t know many other people who have the dedication to paint something to that detail just to age it that much. Yet another amazing video!
The seam between upper and lower hull is very visible. Given that this board side is one of the most visible to the viewers, you should tace care of this seam. Good idea and great paintjob on the deck. Like
Sorry I'm late to this! As usual, incredible work. I like how you made it look worn and old, rust covering it at the sea floor. And congrats on the 3d printer! I'm excited to see how you use it next time!
I didn't saw, or knew about this one. Perhaps I could check it on wikipedia in order to get more information about this Amagi ship, it's the first time I hear about it. Also, it's good that you have a 3D printer, it reminded me the day I saw about 3D printed ships from an Instagram profile. Don't worry if you fail at first using a 3D printer, the more you use it, the faster you'll learn how to use it properly. The practice makes the master.
Great paint job!! I often wonder how effective the camouflage was used by the Japanese to hide an 800 foot aircraft carrier. Creating the hull below the waterline was very impressive too. I am not nearly as skillful, I'm proud of myself when I don't leave a fingerprint from glue somewhere on the hull. I have a couple of ship models that I'm going to build and I was looking for tips. Thanks.
@@lockheedhenesy3899 Yes, the ship was over 800 feet long. Just seems funny to me they try to "camouflage" such a large ship. When it's moving, it will have a huge wake....hard to miss that. Maybe it was harder to when parked in a harbor.
@@lockheedhenesy3899 800 ft is a normal size for ships in WW2. Hell go back even earlier to 1912, Titanic was 852ft long and that's 32 years before the Amagi.
You should do the USS Arizona of what it looked like right after the attack was over with her bridge still there. You are absolutely talented and keep up the good work these are amazing and really good.
You should do a space diorama, something like the enterprise from star Trek, you can try new techniques with the resin to make it spacey, and you can even make the model of the enterprise yourself flying next to space rocks or something like that
I have the Aoshima Unryu, same construction as their Amagi it looks. Can you build the hull up with the hanger left out to use as a separate build/diorama?
@@samuel-studio the hanger deck that goes into the hull, is the ship able to be completed without the hanger deck (Unryu kits tree B part 1 and tree H with parts 1&2)
Absolutely phenomenal work! I just discovered your channel today and am sad to see this is the last video I can enjoy at 3:30am lol. Maybe for a future video, (since you gave HMT Olympic some much needed love in that stunning trio of the sailing sisters) you can make a model of "old reliable" ramming and sinking U-103? Just an idea I'd love to see. Keep up the incredible work!
There isn’t much to learn about. Amagi was originally supposed to be a Battlecruiser like her younger sister ship, the Akagi, but was being converted into an aircraft carrier during construction because of the Washington naval treaty. Unfortunately, the great Kento earthquake of 1923 damaged her still open hull beyond repair, so any piece they could salvage was used on Kaga’s battleship hull to retrofit her from a Tosa Class battleship to an aircraft carrier
