And why did the bar base change from the white one to the black one the original white ones are much better 🤔

I fit loads of quick step and love fitting it , but my 1 bug bare is the quality of their underlay, i always use timber mate as it's far superior than any of the qs products, it's a shame that the underlay range is so average compared to how good the flooring is

Don’t use the metal bar to tap in. It eats the thin mdf. A wood block is gentler.

I have just laid 16m2 and the UNICLIC mechanism requires considerably more technique than this video suggests. In my experience the planks need to be inserted (row-to-row) at about 20-30 degrees where they will remain after insertion & this is necessary to allow more planks to be added (similar to the video but canted up at an angle). The trick then is to get the complete row of boards to lay flat. Just tapping them doesn't work but if you apply downward force as you tap the planks (quite hard) they do start to lay flat and after going up and down the row a couple of times they do finally go flat. Think of the joint as a very stiff hinge. However if you lose patience and just try to stamp the boards flat the joints just pop open and you will have to start over. If you insert each board fully and flat I believe the next board will be much harder to insert as the joint is designed for an angled initial insertion. Overall, considerably more care and force is required than is shown in the video. It seems to be a really good product but for novices we could really do with better more honest instructions.

Well it looks easy but I’ve spent two days and barely managed two packs. The thin cut strips at the end are a two person job and keep springing up when I do it myself. So disappointing it wasn’t like this video.
