spinning rod combo works great especially with a penn spinfisher iv 6500 or larger and a strong rod or jigging rod Ive yanked up 50Lb yellowfin tuna and A thresher over 100Lb.

@@surfersoldierforchrist5928 I 💯 agree with you! I think they are underestimated, you have to have the right combination of rod, reel, and line and you can catch some nice fish while working with a lighter set up

I’m glad you put this video out because I only had a handful of torpedo jigs in my jig bag and I just spent four to $500 on the shorter 2 to 350 g jigs that have been popular this year…

@@anthonytrigueiro7896 on my Tomahawk trip last weekend, the compact jigs were getting bit better, specifically the 300gr Daiwa SK Jigs, but saw guys catch a few on Knifes as well, I didn’t get an BF bites, we only found 2 schools our entire 1.5 day trip and the boat caught 10 total

@@anthonytrigueiro7896 sorry about the late reply man, but I have 100% had trips like that and ones where I couldn’t buy a bite for whatever reason, I try to learn from every trip and stay consistent going all season in hopes of hitting the jack pot a time or two😂

Cue the haters. What type of coffee are you grinding up? :) J/k, thanks for sharing your experience. I think you summed it up: use what ever works for you. Maybe we should start a spinning gear support group. Have a yearly charter for spinning gear fans or even our own spinning gear pride month.

I think more guys would come out of the closet if they would just try a spinning rod😂

    1st set up a 775XXH with a TRX 50N on 130lb hollow with 400-500g jigs.
    2nd UC Centaur 7.6 Penn 16visx 100lb hollow 200-320g jigs.
3rd UC Raptor Penn Visx 16 80lb hollow. 180-220g jigs. Have them all set up for night tuna fishing. Depending on depth that’s what I’ll grab.

You got it dialed in man🤙🏼 I’m going to have a SK Jig on one of rods a lot more often and then a 400/500gr knife. Just to have a couple options for presentations, I went on the tomahawk last weekend and the smaller jigs were the way to go

Hello! I love your addition of the spinning gear. I just got a 18000 Okuma Tesoro sp. paired with a XH Maikara rod. I was wondering what lb braid and top shot you were using and do you have 2 different spinning setups for day and night? Any particular spinning gear tips you might be willing to share (or maybe make a video on it haha). Thank you for your vids!

@@timeves6012 Hey man, I’m running 2/0 on my jigs, I have seen guys use UP to 5/0, I recommended a 2/0 or 3/0, I like a smaller hook signature on my jigs so I use trebles on the smaller side

@@ahmadghanem2414 I do use an assist hook on the top and a treble on the bottom because I like my hooks close to the jig especially on the wind up, I have hooked a lot of fish on the treble versus the assist hook
