Just be patient and take your time. I've learned from folks in my local radio club as well as other You Tube creators. Hopefully you'll find the root cause and get it working!
The issue with the .01 disk cap was interesting. Am having a little volume issue with the disaster H500 I have been pulling my hair out over. Finally got it to work but volume a little, low. Will have to check that out. Good call. Good job Bob.
Always enjoy your videos. I'm working on a transoceanic 600 series with low voltage readings. I tried substituting a diode (1N4007) and the dc voltage was even lower than with the SR,-about 70 volts. Any thoughts and am I using the wrong diode? Thanks for any advice you have on this. Armand
My "go to" diode for these selenium rectifier replacement is a 1N4007. They're cheap and plentiful. If the problem still exists, I think you need go deeper into it.....
Thanks Bob, that was a great how to.
Very nice restoration job . Thanks for sharing. I had one like this that had a brown covering and I sold it many years ago.
This radio worked better than my personal H-500 when I finished it. Despite the poor condition I received it, I suspect it was a low usage radio.
The radio looks beautiful. I like the Q-Tip and Dremel polishing tip. I’ll be using that.

Sometimes thinking out of the norm pays off. I've been burned too.....
Thanks Bob, from BC canada. I have been having aliment trouble from a one very similar.

I think the soldering was sketchy, but the polyester .01 made it sound much better. Thanks for stopping by! RW
Nice job, Bob! It looks great!
I'm waiting to hear from the owner. Hope he likes it too.....
Looks & sounds great! Nice job!!
Thanks for the kind words and being a long time subscriber!
The cat is so lovely 🏵️
He's a little over 2 years old now. He's got a great demeanor and were happy that he's a great companion to our Berwyn.
