- This all time favourite interview from March 1993 by Rama Crowell, was done for the documentary "Call off the Search" and includes the following questions:
If you had to sum up your teaching in one or two sentences, what would they be?
Can we not learn from the past?
Is there something you can say to people to decondition from the past?
For what reason do the scriptures exist?
Does the yearning for freedom arise spontaneously?
Can only knowledge counter ignorance?
What is the origin of ignorance and where does it inhere in the individual self?
How does the atman become clouded with ignorance?
Is there anything lacking in consciousness?
Is separation real or not?
Where does the ‘I’ arise from?
What is the dream state and where does the light in one’s dreams come from?
What makes knowing being?
To whom does knowledge occur? If you have eliminated mind, how can you know anything?
Who is the witness in sleep?
How do we remove the ‘I’-ness that conceals the witness?
Do you believe that a Guru is responsible for his actions? Is this a valid way of determining the quality of a teacher?
What are the most important qualifications for a true disciple? What is important for a seeker who sincerely wants to be free?
How can we distinguish a true teacher? How can a person know that a teacher is the right teacher, a good teacher?
What is the place of devotion in your teachings?
What is nirguna bhakti, love for the formless?
What is the best way to work with devotion to the Guru, to utilize that devotion for freedom?
What is surrender?
Is there a place for sadhana in your teaching?
In your presence some people get a glimpse through direct but then this glimpse disappears. Would it not be more helpful to equip them with a means of holding onto the experience?
Cannot sadhana be a fruitful illusion that can fit the mind to hear the Truth from a teacher?

I watched about a 1/3 of this and fell asleep and had a dream. I was driving in my neighborhood away from my house at night but there were no lights on anywhere. Then I noticed I wasn't driving it was Papaji, and I was in the back seat. Then I noticed we where gonna hit a pile of bricks on the edge of the street and became afraid. When I felt this way Papaji turned around and smiled and pressed on the gas and we went through the pile of bricks and two cars and a hill at the end of the block and I woke up.
This means if you go in a calamity (in the eyes of the ego) with full consciousness you will wake up. Whats there than a greater calamity than death. Death ends the dream
What a dangerous man. Shouldn’t be behind the wheel of a vehicle in my opinion!

Yes, nobody at all became enlightened just because of the temporary experiences they had with him.
Ramana never declared Poonja as Self realized. People seem to not understand that though.

Notice the irony here, the one who seeks tries to persuade the one who has found, that he is right and that master is unaware of something.
The mind, does what the mind does but it cannot do what it cannot do and that is analyse and explain the mystery that it is a part of. But it will not give up, until it loses all hope.
That is what is "the truth" you are talking about. Mind has limitations.
Then gives up and finds peace.

I had the good fortune to meet Mr.Rama Crowell in Amsterdam in 1982 ...I was working at the Golden Temple and he was conducting Hatha yoga classes ..I live in Sri Lanka now ,,He was a great inspiration to me

I’ve never seen such a dumb ‘expert’ this typical religious scholar interviewer. Papaji was so kind and patient with him. I met the same so called scholars at Oxford. Will they ever see the Truth through that ego?

Papaji had a teacher .... something a bit stupid about these nondual people. What's the problem with saying you had a teacher? And why you say that when you know damn well that Ramana taught you?
Because Papaji realized no separation between Ramana and himself. In other satsangs he would say that Papaji is long gone and whatever it is said, it is his Master speaking. The whole sentence means to go beyond the physical body but you need to put your mind aside to hear it.
You have not understood the point, my dear, that Papaji and Ramana are not two different persons. But because you take yourself to be a person that is why you take Papaji and Ramana also two different persons. They have vanished as persons and remained as one truth or reality.
Papaji didn’t learn much from Ramana. He went AGAINST him by preaching his anti-sadhana Neo Advaita.
