Absolutely incredible.
Amazing!
my family has lived on johns creek, in Pike County Kentucky since the 1720's all starting at a place called Sycamore, and as they spread we had originally owned ALL of the area that was then called Buckthorn, and in the 1880s changed to John's creek, upper and lower, brushy being Lower John's Creek, if you want you can read more about the area here. and a book called "The Patterns of Wolfpen".
we are of Original Settlers descendants of Ireland, and confederate Decedents of Pharmer Leslie who helped with the confederate battle of Johns Creek.

My family is from Brushy Fork of John’s Creek (~1790). This song does feel like how that place is. A lot of time in my childhood was spent there. But, it would’ve been nice to actually film it there...
Hey Justin, if you ever get back home with some time on your hands, I'd love to see some of that setting. I'd be happy to put together a version with just a solo fiddle performance to accompany some footage. Cheers - Laurel
