Mr. Shchedrin seemed to be happy with the performance of his etude. It was nice that the camera would focus on him so we know the composer was there to witness this performance of his composition.
Of course he would win! He's got a God-given talent. He can pick up a sheet of music, sight read it, and enter a competition almost immediately. He won Tchaikovsky an Rachmainov in the same year (2011). I just watched Danill playing at Carnegie Hall with a mask on so it had to be in 2020, during the pandemic. His ability to touch his soul to bring out his music is still there. He is around 30 now. All I can say is I hope I can listen to him the rest of my life!

This is brilliant. I watched this live and 3 etudes in, I knew Trifonov would win the competition. This must be the most musical set of Op. 25 recorded.

Too many wrong notes and face pulling, terribly mannered and superficial, especially when he plays with the right hand. His rubato destroys everything he plays, Not recommended. May improve with time.

The summit of Olymp is such a small place. I just listened to Yeol Eum Son, it was so amazing especially with her choice of the 1st Concerto of Tchaikovsky and now this.
What Trifonov and Yeol Eum Son married and produced generation of 21st century plus pianists?
Ich erlebte diesen heute 32 Jahre alten Pianisten im Dezember in München mit einem anspruchsvollen Prgramm (Rameau, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Beethoven), das er (auf youtube greifbar) ein paar Tage später in der Carnegie Hall wiederholte. Unfassbar, mit welcher Meisterschaft und Eingebung er schon vor 12 Jahren die Chopin Etruden spielte. Wer kommt ihm gleich...?!
Niemand kommt Daniil Trifonov gleich. Er ist einzigartig. Sein Herangehensweise an die Musik, die Farbenvielheit deines Anschlags durch sein sehr körperliches Spiel, sein transzendentes Spiel. Haben Sie ihn mit Matthias Goerne gesehen in Leipzig und Moskau mit Bach's " Bist Du bei mir" ?

It means that it's not an excerpt from the performance, rather it's uploaded in full, i.e. from start to finish ;)
It's just the name of the video, it doesn't have to do anything with the pieces themselves because "cut versions" of classical pieces don't exist 😁😁
