Simple words by an 11-year-old child describing the things that are important to her at that age, but when one listens carefully one realises that those words are of great emotional depth to which all of us can relate. For me, that a child can so clearly tell us in simple words what is important to her is remarkable, and then when one listens closely realises that those simple words describe an intellectual and emotional depth which is certainly unusual in one so young.

Soul Sessions, this is one of a hundred songs in my top five! It is so different than her others in the purity and innocence of the lyrics. I notice a great contrast here in her perception of the world. There is a childish or youthful view of the world in many of the lyrics based on her life's experience. But then she goes to a different place and becomes wise beyond her years talking about the good and bad in life and the fact we come and go. Take that with the piano jazz bar feel and this one is brilliant. She is 12 here but we believe she wrote it at 11. Thank you so much for your active support of Angelina and her career. Last year at Angelina’s pay-per-view live streamed Christmas special Angelina sat down with her band mates for an interview. Mind you, these band mates were all at least three times her age. They were all classic session musicians that had played with some of the greats that Angelina idolized, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others. The band was put together by her Republic Record’s pianist Rob Christie. Anyways… in the interview (and other interviews as well), Angelina mentioned that ever since she was little, she has always written music. True to her humble self, she never felt comfortable sharing her own compositions until fairly recently. She has mentioned that much of her inspiration for her song writing comes directly from her journals - she has been writing a journal since she was at leas six years old (I bet this habit was encouraged by her Grandma Mery Zamani too). As a matter of fact, you can see her writing in her journal in her music video “Million Miles”. In any event… these are exciting times for us Angelina Jordan fans.
