  • The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Office plays a crucial role in supporting climate action in the Republic of Mauritius. As a small island nation, Mauritius is particularly vulnerable to extreme weather events and rising sea levels, which lead to significant environmental, social, and economic challenges.
In collaboration with the Government of Mauritius and key partners such as the Green Climate Fund, Global Environment Facility, Adaptation Fund, and the British High Commission in Mauritius, UNDP leads various adaptation and mitigation initiatives. These projects aim to mitigate the impacts of climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and promote the adoption of renewable energy throughout the country.
This video showcases these vital initiatives and emphasizes the importance of strengthening partnerships and climate financing mechanisms to achieve and sustain Mauritius's climate goals.
