fun fact about the modified presidential 747-200 it uses the 747-400 engines GE CF6-80C2 , the original apu is removed and uses 2 767 APUs allowing 4 engine starts at the same time and apu inflight starts capability , if u look at pictures of the vc-25 there's a second inlet door on the left side of the tail. and 2 apu exhausts!
I saw a video one time of a Boeing 747 with an old van parked behind it. The pilots pushed the engines to high power and there wasn’t much of that poor van left when they were finished. Just like the Boeing 747 does, that van took flight, but not for very long. 😂😂 Great video, Lucius! ❤❤
Let me correct you. Airforce one has not only 2 pilots. As a typical B 747-200 it has also a flight engineer's panel and additional place for a navigator, which is located right behind the captain's seat.
I like your comment as it does correctly state the full compliment of the flight crew. However, while a flight engineer was, in many cases, a stepping stone into the front seats and extra stripes on the epaulets, the position of flight engineer and navigator are not truly pilot positions, thus, in a splitting hairs type way, both of you are accurate. Plus there would be reserve pilots onboard for extended flight operations, as would be the case with any flight over 8 hours in length.

You should've included the color of the carpet - there are three colours... it designates where and who has access to which part of the plane.. .the press sit at the back (blue carpet) the front of the aircraft is red for president and secret service....

They don’t put them in the wings, because that would make the tanks susceptible to damage, and make the plane turn slower. Plus, it’s too much weight in the wings, and there’s no room. The wing is packed with mechanical and hydraulic actuators for the many flight surfaces that tuck into the wing. It’s quite complex in a big jet. There’s no room for tanks, and you can see, basically, right through the wing when. It’s open upon landing. Don’t be a fool

I enjoyed your animation but your pronounciation of technical terms threw me for a loop. Maybe you pronounced them that way because you have never heard them pronounced correctly in proper English, or you just didn't care. "Radar" is pronounced "Ray-Dahr", but you pronounced it "Raider". Excuse the rant but as an educator it bothers me when someone can't make the effort to pronounce every day words correctly, but especially words regarding technology.

Air force one isn't the aeroplane, but a Air traffic control callsign, which become active upon the presidents arrival. Not before. Secondly, if the president was to board a aeroplane, with the livery of the United States of America, for example 757/737/executive jet/C17 Globemaster or the 747 Doomsday aeroplane, that aeroplane will be called Air Force One. Thirdly, if the president was to fly in a commercial aeroplane, that callsign would be 'Executive One'. This rarely happens, but the same callsign is used for the outgoing president flight to Andrews Joint airforce base on the presidential helicopter. Otherwise, very interesting video.
