My husband and Jimmy Dickens were good friends for many years and Jimmy worked many of our shows. My little boy was 3yrs old and Jimmy!would take him on stage, kneel down so he could sit him on his knee while he sang Raggedy Ann. My son is now 42 and he has never forgotten"Uncle Jimmy" doing that, he was a sweet dear man . Many memories to cherish. Widow of Ken Allen

Little Jimmy was one of the greatest country singers ever to go on stage. He was tops. He sang the good old country music that most people loved. He has moved from the Grand Old to the land above to be with the other stars like Hank Williams and Ernest Tubb. He will never be forgotten.

took my parents to the Grand Ole Opry a few years ago and as Little Jimmy Dickens performed my Dad leaned over and told me that he first heard Little Jimmy at his high school gym as a teenager. That would've been around 1955 or so. So glad my Dad got to hear him again after he became a legend of country music.

I live in Kiruna ( a small town in the north of Sweden), in October 27th, 2008 I had the great privilege of visiting Little Jimmy Dickens and his beautiful wife Mona in their nice home in Nashville. Later that memorable day, I saw the great legend Little Jimmy Dickens perform at the Grand Ole Opry (this special evening together with Connie Smith, Marty Stuart, Keith Urban and some more great country music artists)! As a precious memory from this unforgettable day, I have fortunately in my possession some great photos!
I have honored the memory of Little Jimmy Dickens by writing a few lines about him and posted a picture from my visit 2008 on my Facebook page.

i am so greatful we got to see Jimmy in concert at the Opry .. He was so funny and so talented . He had seen so many come and go through his time .. a true historian of the Opry . Im so greatful that in a time we live today , when older performers are stood aside , the opry chose to have Jimmy and so many others to show us what true country truly is ! God Bless a Legend !

Some of my fondest memories being a security officer at the Grand Ole Opry and Mr. Jimmy standing in the alley smoking cigarettes telling me dirty jokes. This was when the Opry starting going downtown to the Ryman in the winter time. Love that man very much.

My funniest memory that involved Little Jimmy Dickens, at 4'11", came when I, at 6'5", sang May The Bird Of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose at karaoke one night, and a friend of mine told me "you know, you're about two feet too tall to be singing that song?" I also remember watching a video of jimmy asking trace Adkins if he'd like to be inducted into the grand ole opry. The step ladder gag was funny. RIP Jim, we'll take it from here, little buddy.
