Hey Alastair, thank you for creating this 3-part video. This gave me a perfect launch point to create my own escape room for a Halloween party for friends. It went really well, and I couldn't have done it without your help. Thank you!
You are all right! You have a lot of useful information in the video for those who want to create a escape room) We build escape rooms around the world. By experience, I can say that the key that determines how well a escape room is created is a well thought out scenario. It is from it that the riddles, the design of the escape room, the target audience, etc. come out. :)
Great video. Lots of good info. Would you consider making a larger image of that flow chart available? It would be a great guide for designing a DIY escape room.
Hi, thanks for the comment and glad you found you found the video useful! I've uploaded a PDF version of the game flow document to my Patreon page: www.patreon.com/posts/15683773
Ohh it's really nice game thanks for making videos on it ....I really like the content u have covered ... I am very confused but you clear all my confusion .You gave me a complete idea about this game thank you so much.!! By the way where are you from?
Where can I find more information about creating a game flow chart? Other people mention game flow but your video is the only one that shows what that looks like. Are there general recommendations on the number of puzzles/actions needed for a longer time period (45 or 60 minutes) and less people (6 or 10)? Thanks!
The only real recommendation I can give you is to test it! Generally, start with a few easy puzzles that may only require a few minutes to solve - if people are faced with too many puzzles initially, or if they are too hard, they'll be turned off and become disengaged. Gradually introduce new elements in the same way that a film might lead to more dramatic action, and finally bring everything back together again into one concluding "meta-puzzle" that ties everything back together.
I am amazed on your work really. I have an idea of escape room and your channel is like a free college. Thanks alot for all the ideas. I have an inquiry about making escape room in an open area. Is it possible i contact you via email?! Thanks in advance
Been looking for a series like this for a while. I don't know how it took me so long to find it, but I sure am glad I did.
