The thing that separates his work with Lana from that of other artists' is that with lana it's her who is at the helm & it's her sound & universe he is entering into, in contrast to other artists were he steers the project further with his sound (like it happen with most artists working with a record producer)

I think the issue people have with Jack can be split into two camps. The first dealing with his personal life. There is evidence of him and another celebrity effectively harassing someone they don't like. The whole incident felt like high school mean girls. Not a great look. The second group of people look to him as a one trick pony with limited range. Lana sounds like lana, and that's great, her song writing carries that, but when he tries to branch out from his "sounds" for his artists, it's really never great (See Solar Power). Other than that, his sound is usually very similar in production. Again, a lot of producers do that, and he's done some beautiful work. I am just laying out the opposing argument. It's also hard to compare him to current producers like Finneas, or long time producers like rick Rubin, where their sonic catalog is all over the place. Again, he is very good at what he does, but there is argument to be made that he doesn't have much range.
