I think there’s a misconception about Tecna not being feminine. It is mostly rooted in "short hair isn’t feminine" takes which are very very silly, and in the fact ger s1 casual outfit is very sporty. But I don’t see anyone acknowledging that her s1 ball outfit is very much feminine, immediately showing her range, and people act like her s3 casual isn’t feminine. Tecna dresses for comfort and occasion. Anyways, very fun video (although you broke my heart with a couple of these like the winx in concert outfits, which I love because of the poprock vibe that is very much alive these days), looking forward to another one like this!
Of course, I know what you mean! They're all hyperfeminine by some definition. I guess feminine isn't necessarily a very useful word for what I was trying to get at. I more meant that Tecna tends get edgy or practical things rather than things that Flora might wear, for example. As in not a lot of bulky or flowy fabric or ruffles, but kind of tight, with straight lines or geometric cuts in casual looks at least. That's why that one comic outfit stands out - because of the bulkier softer silhouette and the more 'feminine' puffy shoulders. But true, in ignoring ball looks, I did miss out on her range. Haha 😅 sorry... I guess it makes sense that that is coming back into fashion 15-20 year cycle and all. Glad you enjoyed 💗
@@talkytilki I see what you mean now. Tecna's look is very polished and it could very much be considered a reflection of her culture up to s4: up until then her outfits are very y2k and futuristic, and nobody else gets quite the same treatment. She is from a tech-advanced planet and she shows it in her clothes!
Out of the first four seasons i'd say the season with the best fashion is s3.We had the ball gowns, the dance outfits, the raincoats and Enchantix.✨ Even the dolls by Mattel and the merch released around this era is spectacular!
Yes, definitely! Show-wise season 3 outfits are best, but I've got to say I love a lot of the very early Giochi Preziosi looks for sheer nostalgia. It's kind of stunning how accurate Mattel dolls could be, even just as a doll base. Early Witty came kind of close too (Winx in Concert, for example) but no Winx dolls since look really good. I wonder if it's a licensing issue, such that they can't really replicate the original Mattel silhouettes?
@@talkytilki I also love the early giochi preziosi looks! I don't think licensing has a big part to do with it since Igginio owns the licence to winx and they could give it to any company they want.Hence why the newer Witty dolls used the Jakks Pacific faces because Igginio gave the rights to Witty to produce the dolls with the same faces like Jakks.Besides the two companies occupied to different market places:one the US and the other Europe so they weren't in direct competition with one another!
About Musa's season 1 visible underwear, people has to understand that the winx are 16 and that it was a trend back then, that teens followed a lot! Almost all of us wore low-hanging jeans with visible underwear. It wasn't shocking at all. Same for very short skirts and cropped tops. The winx are definitely Y2K, I lived that era as an older teen and it was rather fun to wear. Same for the platform sandals. Of course the art style of the winx club made it look more obvious but it didn't cause any problem even with parents back then, it was just the norm.
about the roxy and tecna thing, in terms of merch during 2010-11 roxy was the six winx in dvds and she was part of doll lines and merch with bloom, stella and flora, they were like the main 4 at the time and kids really like her at the time, she sustitude tecna in i love dance and was the 4th winx in the mini believix were even though she don’t have zoomix she was in the line, btw i love your videos💕 oh and a fun fact about roxy is that her prototype is even more similar to tecna with her final hair colour but with hazel eyes and indigo and pink colour palette
yes yes 👀 for example, there was that fairy skating competition doll line with Flora, Bloom, Stella, and Roxy like she had become the 4th member of the marketing trio... this is my Roswell 🛸
@@talkytilki it seems like at that time No. 4 was always rotating. Generally No. 4 is Musa, but by season 5 it became Aisha as Roxy was more or less a "Season 4 is Fun" gimmick but always kept Musa and Aisha around and by season 7 they started doing a stock 5...which is better than nothing, but again...not much Tecna. I also think there's another reason for this. Bloom, Stella, Flora, Musa, Aisha and Roxy all have classical fairy powers. Love (it's just called Dragon Flame and Bloom makes some fireballs for coolness reasons in terms of offense attacks while other abilities are more healing-related so she doesn't come off too much as Girl Ma-Ti even though she kinda is), Light, Plants, Song, Sea and Animals respectively and Daphne is all combined when she tags along. Tecna's power-base is Lightning/Electricity. Not really something normally associated with fairies...and not really something to play with. Translation: Tecna doesn't appear much because she's like Rogue...too hot to handle...literally!
Lovedddd this! Noticed that you and I have completely different tastes, for example I ADORE the denim looks. Anyways, as someone who has always had an affinity for fashion and is also a big Winxer, the fashion always stood out to me as extremely well designed and fashion forward! I'm still genuinely baffled by some looks, lots of them look like they're straight off the runway! (Lots most likely are copies but that's besides the point lol) I also have a theory about the Winx Club Mattel Concert dolls! This line was the last line that Mattel produced before production was shifted to Witty Toys. So they came out around 2008, right before Season 4. My assumption is that these aren't based off any artwork but rather Mattel hearing about a concert collection being planned for the show along with corresponding dolls (which were released by Witty in 2009), so they rushed to make their own iteration of concert dolls to indirectly tie in with Season 4 as dolls have a shelf live of about 1-2 years. I'm basing this off of nothing other than the timeline matching up but I think I'm not too far off:)
Oh no I love the denim looks too: it's just that, if I personally wore them I would be trying to crawl out of my own skin lol I hate denim material. You have to pay me to wear jeans ksksksks Oooh interesting theory! So there is one issue of the magazine (issue 69 - italian) where they are wearing outfits that are similar in colour and (at least in Flora and Bloom's case) silhouette to the Mattel Concert looks on the cover... So maybe I wonder if it could be the other way round? Way ahead of time, they designed these looks and they were okayed for mattel dolls: but once they lost the deal with Mattel, there were licensing difficulties using these particular looks in other Winx media...? I don't know if any of that makes sense 😅
12:30 Something I noticed in stock arts of the special season 3 outfits is that Musa's hair appears shorter (i.e. the ballet/dance and umbrella/rain looks and Denim (15:50)) than in the show. I wonder if that happened because they made these artworks before deciding to make Musa's hair longer.
ooh I never noticed that. I guess that makes sense, since these fashions were developed with products rather than the show in mind, so they would have been developed quite some time before they came out.
I hope this comment doesn't come off as an overexaggeration, but to me, your channel is THE BEST channel on TH-cam when it comes to girl media video essays. I really enjoy the way you present your videos. I feel like I've found some place to calm myself while feeding my obsession with this kind of information. Thank you for the wonderful work. One of the reasons I apprecoated "girly shows" was that thry wore several outfits--and GOOD ones. It can be a bit boring when "guy shows" have the characters keep the same looks except for certain ocassions.
4:35 Oh, this is interesting to know, because I'm not familiar with these collections. But how is this one winter themed? Doesn't seem covering enough for winter. And I would've expected this Stella outfit to go with the outfits Musa and Layla wore at that club in the same episode. Instead they're wearing something different and Layla's outfit is more like her alternative season 2 outfit. Oh, also interesting that Bloom's outfit made it into the Dutch On Tour show! Thanks for your research and these trivia facts! ❤ Also my favourite one of this collection is Stella's. I'm glad she got to wear it in the show. 😄 Did you watch Winx On Tour, btw? You sound like you like that show!
Yes, I have no idea why these were considered winter, either! It's just what the doll line was called. 🤔I really don't know much about Giochi Preziosi dolls. Winx on Tour is really special to me, because I found it in a transitional period of my childhood, and I really fixated on Thirza Solcer's Bloom, as kind of a 'dream' older sister whilst I was trying to get through the stress in my life. I remember we had to write a piece for school about our families, and I did not want to write about my family, so I pretended Thirza was my cousin and wrote about her 🥲But the whole cast is special to me, and it's still one of my goals to learn Dutch, pretty much entirely because of this show...
8:58 Oh, yea, I've actually seen stock art of Bloom wearing Layla's end-of-season-2 party look as well. So it's not an error that happened during the production of the doll.
22:30 Awh, I kinda liked this hairstyle for Bloom. But to be fair that was mostly because I was kinda done with her regular hairstyle which she had in most other season 4 looks and even her Believix look. I needed a bit of variation.
10:26 I wasn't gonna say anything but it's been on my mind; Aisha is definitely a ballerina and I take no argument with that, Musa is hip-hop, and Stella should be ballroom (?), I think ribbon dance would be cool for Flora seeing as it's also, just as obvious as Aisha, why they gave her latin anyways, now that ive commented, I can free this from my mind 😂
13:14 the stella weighing scale OMG😭 winx never really got as big here in the us as it did in europe but man i wish it did cuz i would totally get shit like that
Since I found out that they made Flora kettles, I have not been the same: It's just not worth it if I'm not boiling my water in a Flora kettle, you know? And there's just something poetic about weighing myself on top of Stella... But if you want to see more like that, it was a company called Vitek. Here's their winx homegoods ad: th-cam.com/video/dza5N1-eI0M/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
18:17 I didn't know they tested out prototype looks in the comics. Is Stella in a prototype version of her season 4 magical summer line look on this magazine cover?
1:02 "My qualifications for talking about fashion are right here... let's take a look. Oh, it's empty!" I laughted so hard at this part 🤣🤣🤣 2:10 I think that even for 2004 these outfits felt already outdated. Or would I say, they didn't scream "fashion". Even the third looks (not featured into Season 1) featured into a book of Winx paper dolls looked more fashion than these party outfits. 7:34 Actually, I think these outfits are the ombrella ones from Season 3... just without the jackets and hats. There's really a weird experimental era where some potential outfits from future seasons were kinda introduced into the comics (The other example I think about is the Frutti Music Bar prototype/alternative looks introduced into the comic "Magic Holidays") 23:03 I think these looks were introduced in some Winx Club stickers magazines released in Italy. I discovered we had a French version of it (in 2007 or 2008 I think) but I have never seen this book in real life. 26:13 Never. Your memory is fine. (Only featured on magazines stuff) Thank you for your video! ^^ Can't wait to know your opinion about Fate The Trash Winx Saga - Dark Destiny graphic novel.
Hey! I'm happy you liked it!!! 😊 Wow I never made the connection beyond Musa, but you're right? I can see now that they are the umbrella looks from Bloom and Stella's boots omg. That's so weird. Oooh okay, thank you, I'll look into the sticker magazines🤔
In the original, the flower-like pattern is in a lighter shade of blue, and in the Nick version that part is (to me) a very attractive shade of pink. I think that specific blue and pink are really satisfying together.
I honestly like the winx outfits in the seasons 2 and 3 comics. They're a little unique and mostly like flora's look. Season 3 is iconic with a variety of outfits, with the dance and ballet and ball gowns, which i like so far. Season 4 comic prototype frutti bar is also nice.
20:35 It's honestly a crime they didn't use this Roxy look, considering they had already designed it and Roxy didn't really get many outfits in the show/season unlike the other girls.
The other reason you like Tecna the least is because obviously she's always given the worst outfits. Like she's my FAVORITE of all time and even I can see that she gets the short end of the stick in terms of fashion and pretty scenes in the show (and and bloom have the same model yet for some reason Bloom gets a lot of pretty scenes while Tecna doesn't).
Hmmm I actually don't like her least. She's consistently 2-4 in sets for me. She's just never the best. I don't know if you could tell 😅, but how comfortable an outfit would be on me is pretty significant to how I rate it, and since Tecna almost always gets practical yet still interesting looks, her style is actually quite 'pretty' to me. I just often prefer Layla's. But I think it's definitely true that Tecna gets the short end of the stick in the show in general. I think they came up with a cool character - intelligent, contrary girl from futuristic world, but didn't really know what to do with her personality beyond the idea that she likes tech and doesn't always like emotions. For example, I've always thought that the Pixies represent what each girl needs most: Flora is shy and needs help expressing herself, so she gets Chatta who won't stop expressing herself; Stella feels unloved by her parents, so she gets Amore; Bloom needs help finding her path, so she gets Lockette who is a wayfinder; Layla is constantly stressed and under pressure, and her pixie is a baby who sleeps contendedly all day; Musa is rough around the edges (at least in season 1and 2) so she gets an etiquette coach (which feels a bit outdated), and then there's Digit... Who doesn't really reflect anything deeper about Tecna at all, as if they just don't know her very well?🤔 As far as pretty scenes though, I've always thought her bit is the highlight of the Believix sequence. The music soars and her choreography is super fun.
@talkytilki Ahhhh nonono i see where youre coming from, especially when you kept mentioning the jeans thing i kept thinking "Yep, I agree" but looking at the girls I couldn't feel it LOL. Huhuhu, I definitely am more of a "pleasing to the eyes" kind of person because I really rate stuff based on personal visual appeal. I definitely think Tecna's gorgeous in a lot of her fairy forms. One of my gripes tho is how she (along with Aisha/Layla) get the shortest transformations ughhh
@@talkytilki Actually there is a reason why Tecna and Digit are so similiar. As you correctly said, the Pixies represent what each girl needs most. Each pixie must help her fairy overcome her shortcomings and help her grow as a person, with Tecna and Digit it is more subtle, but in fact there is still meaning here. Locket is the pixie is passages. She always knows the right way and can open portals and doors. Which is what Bloom needed since she was looking for answers, for her parents and the truth about her past. Locket is humble and a little of a scaredycat, which contrasts Bloom's impulsiveness (you can see that for example when Bloom wanted to try her "new powers" right away while Locket advised against it, and then we got Dark Bloom) Piff is the pixie of dreams. She helps Layla/Aisha sleep despite her nightmares, and her childish nature allows her fairy to act like a big sister, making her more confident since she has to take care of her and not indulge too much in her own fears. Digit is very similar to Tecna, but far more emotional, that's why she helps bring some of Tecna’s repressed emotions to the surface as well. Digit is also playful while Tecna is very serious and always busy with homework. Digit helps her to relax and take things easy. Since they have the same interests and similar personality Digit can criticize Tecna in a way it doesn't comes wrong since the same remarks from other people could offend her or be wrongly interpreted. Chatta is the opposite of Flora, a flying chatter box. Chatta’s interest in gossip and more outgoing, extroverted personality directly contrasts with Flora’s shy nature. However she is the one who helps Flora be more open and finally confess her feelings to Helia and without her egging Flora on she may have never taken that chance. Tune is the pixie of etiquette. She acts as an older sister or mother figure that Musa didn't have. She cleans her room and criticises her manners. She is probably one of the reasons why Musa became more traditionally feminine in season 3. Regardless if that is a good thing or not. It's very likely Musa's tomboyish persona was a result from her losing her mother early and living in poverty with her bitter father. Amore is the pixie of love. She is just as of a romantic as Stella is, and probably more. For a person so deprived and yet eager for love as Stella, Amore is a great support and source of that love and also balancing Stella’s more extroverted and somewhat impulsive personality with her more calm and quiet nature. She obviously brings out Stella’s romantic side even more, which is especially helpful given one of the first conflicts of the season is related to her and Brandon’s relationship.
Wow, I disagree. I think her looks and outfits are so cool. Whether her y2k futurism looks in the early era, or her prepy/nerdy girl looks in the later era. I think it's all cute and she's slowly climbing my favorite winx girls list.
I know right... 😭😭😭 theres so many iconic looks, and she's definitely right about not having fashion knowledge herself cause theres so many good looks she missed out on and gave bad ratings on 💀
I really Like your video and listening to your opinion, but not commenting on musa because of culture is the most stupid thing i ever heard. Why not? You can still have an opinion
In the context of a ranking, it feels wrong to me to compare outfits with cultural elements that exist in the real world. First of all, it is loaded because there is a history of the ‘western gaze’ exoticizing, reducing, and/or looking down upon non-European dress. Secondly, in my mind, cultural/national dress occupies a different sphere than mere fashion, as it carries history, identity and culture at a different level. You’ll notice I did comment on Musa. Her fashions are some of my favourites - I just thought that it was unnecessary to give my opinion in one instance.
@@talkytilki but what about Others? I dont know Aisha for example. Some clothes of her are looking arabic/african I mean i dont wanna be rude to you (my english is good but im Not fluent maybe it Sounds more evil then i wanna Sound) Eighter everyone can have an opinion about anything or i dont wanna get "judget" my "culture" (im German and italian for example) by asians, Blacks etc (example) And the Winx cant even BE asian etc cause they are Not even from earth. They only are inspired by real cultures (for me for example asiha isnt african rootet but arabic Like Jasmin from Disney and some people say Flora is Latin but for me she is Just a darker european looking Just Like myself)

2:10 I think that even for 2004 these outfits felt already outdated.
There's really a weird experimental era where some potential outfits from future seasons were kinda introduced into the comics (The other example I think about is the Frutti Music Bar prototype/alternative looks introduced into the comic "Magic Holidays")
23:03 I think these looks were introduced in some Winx Club stickers magazines released in Italy. I discovered we had a French version of it (in 2007 or 2008 I think) but I have never seen this book in real life.
26:13 Never. Your memory is fine. (Only featured on magazines stuff)
Thank you for your video! ^^
Can't wait to know your opinion about Fate The Trash Winx Saga - Dark Destiny graphic novel.
Hey! I'm happy you liked it!!! 😊
Wow I never made the connection beyond Musa, but you're right? I can see now that they are the umbrella looks from Bloom and Stella's boots omg. That's so weird.
Oooh okay, thank you, I'll look into the sticker magazines🤔
I disagree with some of your opinions and I love all the later seasons looks/fashion so I have a wildly different taste.
9:17 Hm, was Bloom's dress recolored in the TV movie? I don't see the difference.
In the original, the flower-like pattern is in a lighter shade of blue, and in the Nick version that part is (to me) a very attractive shade of pink. I think that specific blue and pink are really satisfying together.
The detail in this is making me a bit dizzy. Wonderful Work.
Sis that Tecna shot/image at 21:53 got me feeling A LOT 😳🫣
15:50 I don't think this look appeared in the show. What kind of occassion was it meant for?
Yes, denim was merch-exclusive. It was in the comics a lot though.
10:26 as a dancer jazz doesn’t necessarily mean jazz music, it’s like dancing to popular music/sassy style if that makes sense? lol
I just want to know what episode is with stella outfit in season 2 gardenia?😅😅😅
Do you mean 4:53? It's S2E13.
❤
Not you roasting denim on denim and cowgirls sets while it’s my favorite fabric…
10:23 ballet (what your saying) or classic (what „your“ diary is saying) ?
danza classica is ballet
Let's see if you have taste
ominous...
Who doesn't really reflect anything deeper about Tecna at all, as if they just don't know her very well?🤔
As far as pretty scenes though, I've always thought her bit is the highlight of the Believix sequence. The music soars and her choreography is super fun.
@talkytilki
Ahhhh nonono i see where youre coming from, especially when you kept mentioning the jeans thing i kept thinking "Yep, I agree" but looking at the girls I couldn't feel it LOL.
Locket is humble and a little of a scaredycat, which contrasts Bloom's impulsiveness (you can see that for example when Bloom wanted to try her "new powers" right away while Locket advised against it, and then we got Dark Bloom)
Piff is the pixie of dreams.

I guess it became hard to tell for me since seasons 5 onwards gave them basically the same outfits.
I feel like youre not too much into sexy outfits but ils too bad cause they are very well created and still respectful
20:20 a Polish book mentioned
tasteless
Some clothes of her are looking arabic/african
I mean i dont wanna be rude to you (my english is good but im Not fluent maybe it Sounds more evil then i wanna Sound)
Eighter everyone can have an opinion about anything or i dont wanna get "judget" my "culture" (im German and italian for example) by asians, Blacks etc (example)
And the Winx cant even BE asian etc cause they are Not even from earth. They only are inspired by real cultures (for me for example asiha isnt african rootet but arabic Like Jasmin from Disney and some people say Flora is Latin but for me she is Just a darker european looking Just Like myself)
20:20
09:54🫢😆🤣
turk musun
sanane???????
There are good looking and bad looking asian clothes (or clothes from other countries/cultures) so why not commenting that? Super weird
You are sooo negative
