@Zorica Boras Hi! I don't know how much a girandola measures (I estimate about 40 cm in diameter). However between late February and early March I want to go back to measure it all . Today they are still present ps: visit my channel and subscribe :)
Ido have to wonder why the gates here were removed, I guess the railroad (or whomever maintains it) didn't want to have to make sure that the gate mechs functioned? I guess they just don't have much money for the signals, based on how only one bell works.
freebrickproductions Most bells have deliberately been turned off because the municipality said that one bell was enough for a tram crossing and they don’t want too much noise for just a tram crossing.
@@Skeeballman64Yeah it is quite sad, especially since these signals have deliberately been neglected and made redundant . From what I heard from the other comments, this apparently used to have a full bells /barriers setup as traffic flow was too busy for a simple tram intersection to be installed. But the local council put speed bumps before the crossing site later on. Therefore, they weren’t bothered to spend the money on maintaining the old signals since the setup wasn’t necessary anymore, so the gates were eventually chopped off. Most of the bells were also silenced for noise abatement procedures.

Geweldige opname! Leuke oude Rotterdamse tram over een bijna-inactieve spoorwegovergang in Amstelveen!
Welke lijn was dit? 30?
Mooie video

Why have the boom gates been removed? 🤔
They’ve been removed to save the municipality the burden of maintaining them, since tram crossings usually don’t have gates anyway.
Closed?

@@liambgames8338 Makes sense. Though at least a couple of the bells should probably be repaired.

What is sad
@@Atilla5590 Look at the state the signals are in.
