I bought mine 13 years ago and it's still like new. 4 band EQ is nice for long mixes but not for shorter quicker mixing styles. Faders have that studio mixer style so not designed for smashing up and down if you wanna do that. Xfader is lovely and smooth and both settings work well for different styles. Filters are cool but make a pop sound when activated. 6 channels but 1&2 are designed for mic usage which probably no one uses. 4 for music which is fine but I'm now playing across 2 decks and 4 CDJ and I'm having to use the line/phono button when I should be able to use the mic channels, they don't have RCA inputs and 1&2 cannot be assigned to the xfader Build quality is fantastic, faders and buttons and knobs all feel high quality. I love mine despite its few downsides

No One has said It yet so. What Johnathan Is on about here Is called a "Swept Mid" these are usually found on High end Studio Mixing Desks. It gives You more control of the Mid Range. By the way Never Use Graphic Equalizers In a Disco or HI Fi set up. Reason for this Is, You are adding Sound to the Original Sound that was not on the Recording. Causing Distortion and Hurting Your Speakers, by driving the Crossover to hard. If You Tones controls IE: Bass and Treble, Leave them on 12 O' clock or Flat. That Is why High End Amps only have a Volume Knob and Power Switch on the front. Like He says here Older Mixers were built like tanks and the Quality of Components Used Is stunning.

Hi how come if I turn the pan knob on my xone 62 to the right one speaker feels less and the other feels normal, I tried to swap the speakers but the same thing happens? thank you in advance.
Panning is the direction of your sound , if you turn your pan to the left completely on your speakers the sound will only come out of the left speaker . Same thing on the other side . You can switch it back and forth to achieve a panning effect which can sound cool if used properly .
Hi, is it possible to add an external effect (like a guitar pedal) to the Xone62? If yes how would that work? Can’t see any send/returns on the rear side
Is worth to buy this in good condition at €300 now? (July 2020) I recently sold my djm800 and was thinking on get a xone 43 for €400 or this one for 300
Got one of these a few weeks ago and have been really loving it, however, not having pre cue EQ is a deal breaker... anyone got any workarounds for this??
Change the jumpers on the channel board from J2&J1 to J3&J4. Bottom middle of the board. The two on the left to the two on the right. Pull them off and move them over. Then Cue becomes post EQ.
Can you elaborate on this please, sorry if I don’t know what you mean. You’re saying when you’re cue-ing in your headphones pre fader it’s a direct audio that’s not affected by the eq settings you have?
@@donaldghazi2392 I don't think there is a huge difference. The layout is different, the Mic channels being more segmented from the main channels. The fader knobs are different, and I think there is an adjustment more on the channel input and I do seem to remember there being a **little** more advanced filter/effect thing.. Otherwise I'm not aware that they have any significant differences other than the 92 being newer and has MIDI support. The 62 was discontinued a long time ago, but honestly. The improvements are incremental, and the main thing is the MIDI support. Though i may be wrong. The 62 is just a solid, pure analogue classic. 92 is the continuation of that. Look them up on the Allen & Heath website and check out the documentation. Just in case i am remembering things wrong.
@@donaldghazi2392 For me there four obvious advantages on the 92. 1. The 92 has a second Aux Send which makes it possible to integrate a second effect unit. If you want two effect units on the 62 you would have to chain them with the obvious disadvantage that you cannot send one channel to one effect and another channel to the other at the same time. 2. On the 92 the two filters have their own type and resonance setting, meaning that you could e.g. set one filter as a 'mild' HPF and the other as a 'wild' LPF. Meanwhile these settings are "global" on the 62, meaning that both filters always have the same type and resonance setting. 3. On the 92 you can listen to your cued channel pre- and post-EQ which is a big advantage for long blends. 4. There are nine LEDs on the 92's channel meters whereas there are only four on the 62's. I personally own a very cheap mixer with only four channel LEDs and for home use that is fine. But I am pretty sure that if you play on a bigger system you would want to have more control over your gains.
Don’t agree that this is a great mixer. Sound quality is very good, filters and eq are stunning, the rest is frustrating and shows it was an early attempt by A&H. Very hard to match input levels with the limited cue monitoring etc. I think it’s worth paying double for a 92. Massive step up.

could i attach a efx 500 to a xone 62?
Hi how come if I turn the pan knob on my xone 62 to the right one speaker feels less and the other feels normal, I tried to swap the speakers but the same thing happens? thank you in advance.
Panning is the direction of your sound , if you turn your pan to the left completely on your speakers the sound will only come out of the left speaker . Same thing on the other side . You can switch it back and forth to achieve a panning effect which can sound cool if used properly .
Would you consider the xone 32 also as very good in some way?
wasn't a fan of the 4 band EQ for mixing trance. I went for the Xone 4D instead and love it
Use the filter for faster mixing bass in /out .
Hi, is it possible to add an external effect (like a guitar pedal) to the Xone62? If yes how would that work? Can’t see any send/returns on the rear side
Yes of course, I connected my boss reverb and it sound great!
What do these usually go for on ebay and other sites? (£)??
I wish I never sold my 62...
Is worth to buy this in good condition at €300 now? (July 2020) I recently sold my djm800 and was thinking on get a xone 43 for €400 or this one for 300
Did you end up purchasing it?
also making this decision, which one you go for?
Got one of these a few weeks ago and have been really loving it, however, not having pre cue EQ is a deal breaker... anyone got any workarounds for this??
Change the jumpers on the channel board from J2&J1 to J3&J4. Bottom middle of the board. The two on the left to the two on the right. Pull them off and move them over. Then Cue becomes post EQ.
Can you elaborate on this please, sorry if I don’t know what you mean. You’re saying when you’re cue-ing in your headphones pre fader it’s a direct audio that’s not affected by the eq settings you have?
Alex P Hi alex. Did you ever work this out regarding the EQ ? I have just got one and I am trying to work out the same. Cheers!
Does Xone 92 have pre que? And is that another major difference aside from Xone 62 only being able to send one effect to per channel?
any advice on how to connect a rmx 500 to a xone 92 ?
would really appreciate help thanks :D
send #1 to rmx, return from rmx to send #1... or send #2. use send pot to adjust the fx coming from rmx on whichever channel u want the fx on
I own this. I will never sell this. Never.
How is it different from Xone 92? I want to see how they differ but there's no videos of it online...
Does anyone know whether to use Serato, Rekordbox or Traktor with this mixer?
Any, but it has no USB, full analogue. So I use an SL3 with Serato DJ Pro.
@@RedSquare_DJ So do you connect the USB to your laptop (which has the software) and it will work like that? I thought it was only for controllers...
Does it have phono preamp?
Yes and one of the best out there...
What about the UreiS by soundcraft?
She hits hard
Yes, it does!
*As somone not living in the UK i gotta be honest. I’ve N E V E R seen a Xone mixer in real life. Why is that?*
*Is it becauce Allen & Heath don’t distribute outside of the UK?*
Sorry to say that but if you never seen a Allen mixer you dont know the good djs...
Such as?
@@ReboyGTR John Digweed only uses a DB4 , wherever he is in the world. I think they distribute in the US too but can't be sure of that
Alan Marshall That’s wonderful. What about non-British DJ’s?
Well i myself use a xone and i live in switzerland. Every one of my friends have a xone. Only EDM djs use pioneer nowadays. Look around and find some relevang djs, they dont use pioneer.
Sounds better then 96 !!! Great sound for today with vinyl !! But 98 or 2000 club mixers no !!! The parts are not there or expensive !!!
Even a Citronic or Gemini 626 will sound better then 96 today or pioneer mixers believe it or not !
CDJ100 the only cd-player can play pizzas too😁

Allen and Grief
Allen & Thief (great mixers though)
@@low3freq Haha yeah. we have to admit
