In the meantime, please enjoy my adventure of turning Dollar Tree items into 1:6 scale, Barbie-sized miniatures. This video was inspired by ‪@MyFroggyStuff‬

    Adult doll collectors have been coming out of the closet so to say lol and I love knowing I share this enthusiasm with A LOT of others lol

      Yes! I love that adults are now openly embracing hobbies that used to be considered "childish". And that many dolls and toys are finally being appreciated as the art they are 😁

    You are too much fun and really adorable. I know it may not be what a 'serious TH-camr' wants to hear but that's the point. You show a 'real' person's POV. I don't need anything done perfectly; I want to see what I could do at home. Very entertaining, Thank you.

      Thank you so much! That's exactly what I want. To share things I love in a way that's accessible for anyone to also do. And when you know the ways I struggled, you won't be surprised if you struggle too, or you can find a way to do it even easier than I did.

    Ps When I make my doll houses I make them with really big Office Depot cardboard boxes. I can get 2 big boxes and glue one on top for an upstairs. then you can cut out doors, windows, etc and put in flooring and baseboards, etc. They hold up extremely well- about 5 years with wear from playing. But, they turn out beautifully. I spray paint with Rustoleum paint + primer. It works great and makes great Barbie Dreamhouses.

    • @MinasMagic
      @MinasMagic  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fabulous tip! I wonder if Staples (being a similar store) would have comparable boxes. That's awesome to know they hold up so well. Spray paint would give the walls and ceilings a beautiful finish. Thank you so much for sharing! 💜

    Hi, Mina- when I make miniatures for my Barbie I use E6000 glue. I like it better than the "hot glue" and do not have to worry about getting burned. I enjoyed your video.

    • @MinasMagic
      @MinasMagic  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. My only concern with E6000 is that my studio, being in the basement, doesn't have the best ventilation. I know I can wear a respirator, however, anyone else using the basement could be exposed. I'd rather I get hot glue burns than risk my family's health ☺💜

    LOVE trash to treasure in anything but especially 1/12 scale miniatures! The dinning room table was 1/12 and the floor lamp was 1/6 but I bet I could modify it for 1/12.

    • @MinasMagic
      @MinasMagic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1/12 scale is my favourite too. I mostly work in 1/6 scale to get my daughter excited about miniatures, as she finds the bigger size less frustrating. I'd love to see how the lamp would work in 1/12. If you do modify one, feel free to tag me, I'd love to see it 💜

    I see that the tea light legs evolved a bit and it's a great idea. Maybe a beam diagonally in the ceiling and it could be a hanging light. Or use a Christmas chandelier with a small tea light in it for another look. Many good ideas, thanks.

    I have so many questions. Why didn't you cover the chair in some fabric? it would have been super easy to do while it was apart. Also, why didn't you paint the 'dresser'? You could have made the plant's pot match the table by using the contact paper on it. There are some other questions, mainly about taking more time for finishing of the items. All in all, it was a good start for people if they need inspiraton. I just think you should have put a bit more detail into the rest of the items, like you did the table. For that I was a bit disappointed.

    • @MinasMagic
      @MinasMagic  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      To answer your questions, I was inspired by MyFroggyStuff. She had made similar things out of similar things and I wanted to see if I could make the things and have them look as good. That's why I didn't let my creativity run wild. I did make some changes to the original inspo and I love that you thought of even more. That's what I adore about creative communities...the building of creative inspiration off and encouragement of one another! (preferably without judgement 😁)
