In this video I show you how to play Jimmy Page's intro solo in "Since I've Been Loving You" from The Song Remains the Same. I've always believed this recording to be a great showcase for both Jimmy's playing, and the tones available with a Les Paul.

Man that's something else..great job
Thank you!
Absolutely incredible, sounds so good! What's the amp setting and pedals you using?
Thank you! You're hearing Jimmy Page too, so I can't take too much credit. For the sound I'm using an Ibanez Booster pedal (BTMINI) into the front end of a Marshall SV20. I'm using a Boss IR-200 for IRs and as an interface. The Les Paul is really the most important element though, because the sounds are all there when you flip the switch and adjust the volumes.
spot on !
Thanks!
Nailed it - well done!
Thank you-much appreciated!
Holy shit thank you I’ve been trying to learn how to play this
Nice!
Best one yet 💯
Awesome-thanks!
Fantastic!🤙
Thanks!
🔥🔥🔥
Ha! FABULOUS
Thanks!
I think the footage they got was over the 3 nights they played at Madison square garden, so they probably used the different audio they recorded on a different night using the same footage we see in the film
I think you're right. I did some research. Apparently when Kevin Shirley remixed the sound for the reissue, he did all three nights. The different version they used for the video on YT is more in sync with the original footage (esp. of Robert). They also removed the shots of the audience, and minimized the shots of JPJ in a wig shot the following year on a soundstage.
I think it's the most edited song on the album. You can read about it more on garden tapes
Thanks for hipping me to that. I'm going to have to check out what that guy figured out about some of the parts that always confused me.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks!
can we see how to play the Van Halen demo called "Main Squeeze"? I think it was from 1981
Did you see my "Red Zone" video? Most of "Main Squeeze" is contained in that. MS has a dropped-D intro, and a different solo. Let's continue this conversation in the RZ comments, because I'd like to know what part of MS you want to learn.

It's not on the original album print from 76.
Right. I had the VHS first, and found out later that the album had "Celebration Day" which wasn't in the film and the film had songs like "Black Dog" and "Since I've Been Loving You" which were left off the album. Having the full set and Kevin Shirley's remix make the reissue something I highly recommend.
@@JimbosGuitarPlanet have all of it.. Don't care for the remix.
