Pretty good explanation of the necromancer. There is a lot to cover. A few things to add though. When the dungeon level increases there is a chance to draw the Skeleton mob card, at which point the necromancer takes the new Skeleton mob card and replaces it with his card, essentially leveling up his Skeleton Leader (equipped weapon stays the same). Then a new mob card is drawn in its place. The Revived leaders may partake in a hero’s trade action, so you can give it a better/worse/different weapon. If you have your limit of revived enemies the only way to summon a new leader is to have a current one be killed. When a Revived leader is killed the weapon it is equip with returns to the necromancer. The necromancer gains all the souls, experience and treasure from their controlled “allies” (aka pets). Like I said, good job but there is a lot! It is easy to miss stuff.
Great review! My friends and I just started playing this and I am playing the necromancer. Question: can the necromancer use any weapon or does it have to use a magic weapon? When reading the necro rulebook there wasn't a lot to go on.
Roaming Monsters life points scale based on the amount of heroes in play ie 5points/hero. I believe this is meant to say they only have the equivalent life points of one hero. In other words their life points don’t scale based on heroes when used as a pet/companion so the number on the card is their actual health. Hope this helps.
If I have the deaths shadow skill can I use the shadow ability multiple times? For example I have 5 soles can I spend all of them to give me an additional +2 sword 5 times?
Unfortunately no, anytime you have bold text followed by a set of colons (:) you can only complete that skill once per action (in bold) so in this case the word ATTACK : is in bold, meaning you can only use the skill to add +2 swords once per attack action.
When the skeletons kill the leader and there are no other enemy’s, is your attack action for the necro lost? If there are other enemy’s can you switch targets for the necro’s attack?
Hi! I know I'm late to this video and I'm sorry to bother you. But you haved cause a quite an argument in my MD2 group. At 7:55 you talk about "Death's shadow II" and say that it creates a shadow zone for everyone. Could you kindly elaborate what you're basing this statement on? (or anybody else who wants to chip in ;)) Because I don't see it. The card says: "you may count your zone as shadow". Which to me clearly only adresses the person who has learned this skill. As opposed to i.e. the Paladins "Banish II" which says "This zone is a shadow zone." or any other skill starting with the words: "Heroes in this zone may/gain ..." My friend INSISTS that it counts for everybody because you said it and her argument is: "As someone who has studied the game and put the effort in, why would you be wrong?" And I INSIST it does not because of the wording on the card. I've searched up and down the internet and found nothing to support your claim. We're getting really bitchy about this topic by now and I'm out of ideas how to settle the matter an continue playing peacefully. Pls send help :D
I agree with your assessment according to the wordage of the card. Your friend is wrong. Plus the game is easy enough IMHO giving the entire group shadow is much too powerful.
When it comes to Leader/Monster Reborn, does the discard pile of available Leaders/Monsters reset every time you start a new Quest? I couldn’t find an answer to that but it would mean that at the beginning of every Quest you always just have access to the Skeleton Leader until more Leaders or Roaming Monsters are killed!?

It can use any weapon. I think the wizard is the only one who needs a magical weapon (and the ranger needs a ranged weapon).
