Gotta love how fast his Supernova goes off. They really need to beef the Rise version up some more in Sunbreak. Also, his charge is probably the most dangerous moves, despite how "basic" it is. But then again, it's like getting hit by a truck, make it a 10-wheelers, that is also on fire, slammed right into yo face. XD
Yep no matter what kind of crazy move a monster has, a supernova, a WW2 bombing run or a dragonator hurricane, none give me as much of a problem as a rathian style charge or a hip check. Like tigrex or diablos you can tell they're about to charge at you, but with a rathian style charge the monsters whole body just suddenly becomes a hit box with no warning.
What messed me up is World/Iceborne is my most played monster hunter game. So I'm used to long wind ups, easy tells and monsters always following a certain rhythm. This game is like each move is a roll of the dice. I might explain more on my next MHGU video.
Teostra is actually the easiest of the trio for me to farm nowadays for those elusive Large Elder Dragon Gems. I just slap on some Biology Jewels to negate Blastblight and go to town with a Crit Draw-style Valor Great Sword set. I can knock him down a lot by aiming my Crit Draws on the head and don't have to over-commit like with other weapons.
"Teostra" is an anagram of "toaster". which fits, because it's how hunters ended up in the old games; Teo was no joke back then (and Luna was pretty easy).

@Uno Hunter Wanna know something funny? GU teostra was not only slowed down but also nerfed already. Teostra back on 4U had a 0 frame Instarush tackle on top of being way faster and its moves influcted blastblight more often, on top of having way longer range, that also includes the Nova. On G rank the instarush was almost a one shot if you were running max upgrade rare 10 armor sets, or a one shot if you were running Mixed sets or an armor rare 9 or bellow. Lvl 140 teostra was well known for one shotting entire teams with its instarushes Tip: Elder Dragons on GU have 2 thresholds on the head, one would just flinch them amd the second one will topple them but after a lil while it will reset , which means you werent doing enoff damage on the head like at all. Good video, keep the good work my man, also obligatory #MoreNonLSGameplay.
Yeah, MH4U has probably the hardest version of Teostra, especially G-special Guild Quests (over Lv.125) where his passive fire aura is huge and his blast clouds travel forward instead of lingering in place. Tried a Lv.137-ish one with randoms the other day and it did not go well ... fortunately I have a Kaiser X set tailored specifically for Teo (Biology and 20 Fire Res standard, +gems for Heat Cancel and Guard Up) so I wasn't the one carting.
@@Stratelier yee that instarush on 140 is nasty, but once you get used to it, you can also tell when its coming, really fun. I used to do it with CB bacl when 4U was brand new, then moved to Evasion 3 HH cause the def song stopped the one shots from Instarushing and The Novas
Unless you're using a crit-draw valor greatsword build, you must try to always stay to his side or rear end and even then you must keep your distance (except if you're using Dual Blades, Sword and Shield or Hammer, then good luck) because his charges' hitbox covers his entire body (and get some Stun Resistance if you can't deal with them).
No problem and maybe in Rise i'll try it since I already have a build for it. The builds in GU take so long to get and I just don't have the time to grind a whole lot.
They buffed Teostra with blast element since 4th gen if you’re wondering which game it first appeared it was monster hunter 4 and 4 ultimate before that Teostra and the trio were not in 3rd gen they are in 2nd gen games but Teostra didn’t have the blast element back then but I really miss old Teostra
Theres alot of love about old teostra but that run will never be one of them also teostra has a second set of armor with expert hearing and evasion I think you get it from his event quest but I don't remember also also out of all the endgame blast monsters he is the least threatening
Don't worry, not much need for the event super-Teo, you unlock GX Kush, Teo and Chammy when you get a Triumph for the first time. Unfortunately, Triumphs are locked behind either Most event-Elders (Such as the aforementioned super-Teo) and Endgame monsters like Amatsu... Personal Tip: Teostra GX is good against Bloodbath G2, due to HG Earplugs and Evasion and has enough slots so you can slap on extra defence skills and maybe some Felyne Insurance if you're not god-tier.
Curious to see you fight Kushala now. He's one of the worst fights if you don't bring a Poison weapon or get consistent hits on the head for the stagger. Also Teostra is in Stories 2
@@enrithomas7194 Yeah but he'd have to grind it from level 1 and then get it to at least level 11 which would take forever solo. Besides, he'd trade all the better skills on his current armor for Windproof and Earplugs which isn't really worth it imo.
@@MaigenMaylight Tbh sometimes utility is better than having pure raw. Windproof alone against Kushala is something, the armor comes with attack+3 and we thats nice. The only ability having no use is adredaline(I don't know how is called in english). Not only that you are able to bring whichever weapon you want not needing to worry about getting wind pressure'ed. It's also a literal counter for Bloodbath or any monster who have alot of soft spot. True, the damage output is would be lower compared to his current armor but have more hits guaranted and can even keep up the pressure more since wind pressure isn't there.
Hey Uno, hope all is well with you? I would say Teo is in my top ten elders and yeah world/IB was my 1st intro into him and over time he became very easy to fight. I’ll always take him over Luna 😂… only did the HR version of him in the volcano area but watching you fight him in Sandy plains was very nice because I never noticed before that when he’s Aggro the environment changes… now I have to go back to world and rise and see if it does the same thing 🙃
@@Uno_Hunter would be a nice add on if that was a thing… I remember watching someone fight Nami and was using the (I believe) glow slinger ammo to suck up the water she was putting on the ground and I was like Capcom I love you cause I’ve put sooooo many hours in that game and I just found that out some months ago… stuff like that can make a game even more amazing to me when they have tons of lil hidden gems in the game that most ppl will never know about because they don’t try to be inventive in their hunts hehe
One of my best armors it has the challenger and psychic vision, and poison negate I use this alot because I don't need to bring paintballs 😻😻😻 however he is easy to beat bro... just stay out of his face and don't turn your back on him 😺😺😺

In 4u, both the explosion and the heat can kill you. You must wait for the heat to disappear before hitting him while he is landing. Guess is the same for Gen U
world and rise Teostra are a Joke compared to this and 4U's Teostra, I'd say this is the most balanced teostra has ever been but 4U's Teostra is really scary, specially on Lv140 Expeditions by all means a challenging hunt, it's a shame he's been nerfed time and time again since 4U (by the way Generation's rendition of teo wasn't nerfed, but rather adjusted so it wouldn't spam the Long range Nova and the Blast blight swipe combo so much)
@@enrithomas7194 the deviant is really balanced I like that fight a lot! as for the Normal one, I have to learn how to diferenciate between a normal charge and the charge to insta double beak attack that's the only part that feels unfair to me (but once I overcome that it will be a pretty fun fight)
@@Meep_kun That's kinda the same with Teo here. Granted he wouldn't be a more than menace if he didn't have those isnta charges, only his blast alone was menace. I still would pick GU Teo any day of the week but I don't think he is balanced. As for regular Garuga you should try and always go to the left, most of his attacks end or start from rigth. As for the charges try to not be in front of him and aim for the leg. Is my favorite monster but I honestly can see why people hate him. However I don't know if this strat would work with FU or 4U Garuga.
@@enrithomas7194 the insta charge of garuga isn't really my problem but rather how simmilar it looks to the charge to double beak combo I can parry both attacks, if I know which one it is of course aiming for the legs is boring so I always go for the head (Classic Long sword tactic lol)
My hot take is that I actually do like it, I like opportunity cost in my MH games. If you're going to get the benefit of healing the opportunity cost is lack of damage because you need to wait for an opening.
@@SoaringSalamanders I don't think the player should be punished by the Hunters IQ dropping into the negatives because they are hungry and decide to eat and lock their legs up during it. It makes zero sense in a game with shit like this. You already got limited items and cheap damage every 3 seconds, this just being extra dumb.
@@Uno_Hunter I've only played the demo of Rise. I prefer World's healing mainly because I still have to think a bit about when I can heal if using a mega potion due to how slow it is. Feels pretty balanced with the ability to move and if you cancel it well, you lose the healing. Side note, you did way better about not getting hit by 4th gen Teo than I did. I use GS, I tried hitting him in the face and he just kept doing the jumping back powder blast until I died. Breaking his knees is the safest way to kill him.
Is your Defense maxed out btw? 5:40 haha, yeah hes silmutainously the easiest and hardest of his Trio. He has Bullshit like bad Hitboxes, or Roar into instand Charges, but his Ai is also insanly robotic and predictable. I realy hate Old Teostra. The Hindleg Strategy was a good one, most Players go after that.

Old teostra was garbage, instant charges galore, the ability to stun you with roars and attack you when your vulnerable, attacks with little to no wind ups, pouncing and charging even when your in his face, combine all of that with blast blight and your health bar is essentially a damn lie!!
Old World Teo would be the definition of "Welcome to Hell", but there's already a quest with that name (G-Rank Event Super-Nakarkos)

Ahtal-Ka armor is really convenient for making a nice comfy gunner set, if you care to dip a toe.

I liked the healing in World because you can move and do it, cancel it, but it doesn't heal as fast as Rise does

Basically you can get it from most G3 hyper monsters. Once you finish the urgent quest to get into G4 the hyper (should) unlock
