11/8/23...I never knew about Fiona n watched the 5 videos from her birth to finally being united with her parents. Bless the whole team, including Children's Hospital. It's truly amazing to see these Hip-Mer's in such a beautiful containment. Soooo glad that these videos have made mega $, so as to help Cincinnati Zoo continue to improve, educate their team & evermore care for all the creatures that is a healthy way for many of us would prefer to learn from vs being attacked at a actual site where ppl have been killed due to Hippos not appreciating the too close presence of humans. Bless everyone involved. 🙏

FIONA is so friendly, and cute. She loves to go very close to the glass, so she can see all of the people, and they can get a good look at her. The keeper gave out a lot of important information about hippos. It is nice to see her grow up, and she looks so happy being with her mom.❤

Stupid little criticism but was anyone else thinking “please give patient mama Bibi some lettuce, Fiona is getting it all” 🤣😂🤣 Looks like Fiona is giving her mama Kisses on her “cheeks” How do they keep the food in their throat? Hippos look 👀 like they may be related to Manatees. I am a big fan of Fiona, Bebe and the crew. I can’t get enough. At Christmas time you should play the song " I want a Hippopotamus 🦛 for Christmas 🎄”
Question: I’ve been a horseback rider most of my life and have subsequently, owned many over the years. I saw you feed Timothy hay, but as far as ruminant feed, is it a loose alfalfa Chaff or more like mix/sweet feed with molasses, oats and cracked corn? Or is an extruded feed? I can see they like beet pulp as do horses! Finally, how many kilos of hay do they eat daily? We fell in love with hippos a little more when we discovered Fiona!!
