DC Sonic was a Sonic that was able to create a fan following. Look at all the great Sonic gamesin the 2010s. Now, who , outside of Sonic fans, even give shit about those games? Now look at the horribleness of Sonic Boom:RoL. Now suddenly everyone wants to talk about Sonic and apparently he was never good since 2006. Even despite my praise, I can't think of a single major aspect Modern Sonic trumps DC Sonic in, from gameplay to story and most importantly:proof of concept.

Mugi just shat ALL over my childhood memories of Sonic Adventure 1, 2 and Heroes! And I love it!
I honestly hated the Dreamcast portrayals of the Sonic characters, but I loved Sonic's gameplay, and the use of multiple characters. The problem is that many people did not like how the other characters were used. Many of us wanted to control the characters with the same objectives as Sonic, not treasure hunt, fish, race a CPU, or robot shooting.
This is why most want a Sonic Adventure 3, not to bring back annoying versions of the characters in awkward cutscenes with bad voice acting, but to bring back the same gameplay and multiple playable characters, except with no gimmicks, and more focus on playing as different characters with different abilities, but similar progression to Sonic's gameplay from Adventure 1 and 2.
That's kinda like Sonic Advance 1, 2 and 3, you can say the same for Rivals and Rush series. In other words any game could decide whatever use other characters or not.

Knuckles, Shadow, and Eggman's voices weren't bad, but everyone else had awful delivery with their lines and voice tone. Everyone from Tails, Amy, Rouge, Omochao, Sonic, and the other human characters were just plain awful. I still don't get why people think the Dreamcast era had the best voice actors, I grew up with the Dreamcast games, and even I can look back at them and say they sounded awful. They did get a bit better in Sonic Heroes, but the dialogue was so poorly written in that game.

I don't know about you, but I enjoy *good* sonic games. The better the game, the more I love it. That's why I love sonic adventure 1 and 2. Plus replayability is very important to me and modern games really lack that, sonic adventure had the chao gardens which got you to replay your favorite levels, enhancing the game's experience.
