Rack this was my grandmother's favorite bird. She had a sunflower seed feeder outside her breakfast nook window and could watch them feeding. I grew up in east Texas and this bird was the first song we would hear every spring. Very recognized song from the male Cardinal.
my favorite bird. folklore is that if a Cardinal comes to your yard, then someone you love who has departed is visiting you. I take great comfort in that when I see one at my feeder
It's one of the most common birds here in Florida but people from places who don't have them are very impressed with them. Cardinals belongs to Grosbeaks family. Cool birds, thanks for this nice informative video.
Cardinals were my grandma's favorite. She lived in Maryville TN. I have many of them at my feeders and they all seem to stop by at the same time taking turns and chasing off the other birds. So fun to watch!
Rack, I have noticed you have several Facebook accounts. Do you have a profile that's more active than the others? I'd like to shoot you an IM. Great info on the Northern Cardinals. I learned me somethin' new this morning. I had no idea the beak color changed with the aeason. Also, as cool as those cardinals are, that Blue Bird is just incredible! No matter the time of day or what's going on around him, he just sits there looking stoic 😆
