    I love the way this XTS looks. Just has a very appealing road presence going down the street. Loving the new Cadillacs!

    I used to think that way too until I took the Cadillac XTS Platinum out for a test drive. Result?
    I dumped my BMW 7 series.
    After owning BMWs, Mercedes C Class's, and two Audi A8s, I actually LOVED the XTS more. The quality of the interior did it for me. I had the extra cost leather package on my BMW and it was nowhere near as nice as what I have with my new XTS Platinum. Even the ceiling is covered in suede.
    I could have any car I wanted. I got the one I fell in love with.

    This Cadillac DOES run with the 7 Series and S Class in reality though. I just traded a 2011 7 Series in for an XTS Platinum Edition. No regrets whatsoever!
    I LOVE this car!

    The CTS-V is a sports car; it guzzles gas and has a harsh ride. The XTS is a luxury car meant for smooth cruising. The two cars do not compete.

    The seat function is actually quite nice. It's more subtle than flashing lights that passengers can see and the fact that it vibrates differently to different events is communicative.

    Just bought this exact car, even in red. 24k for a car that went for 62k. Not bad, and it only has 40k miles on it. Driven the car around today and it's pretty darn nice, will compliment a Yukon Denali and a Toyota Tundra.

    Yes, you must realise what this car is, it's a performance luxury sedan, not intended to be a track day hero. A fast business express for those countries that have roads with high or no speed limits and for the countries that don't you'll be able to surprise even the latest Ferrari's between the lights...
    I think it's car design par excellence and I really want one but alas unless I strike a big lottery win it will remain a dream...

  • @DrivenCarReviews
    @DrivenCarReviews  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Here's why- A lot of people mistakenly think the XTS runs with S Class and 7 Series because it's Cadillac's largest model. Yes, price wise it definitely goes up against E Class and 5 Series, I could have made that more clear I suppose.

    I'd say it's in between actually. We all know that although german competitors start at over 40k, they tend to go up to 80k pretty quickly when you put those attractive looking options on them. In my honest opinion - best car offered by GM these days. Definitely didn't expect to see anything THAT good coming from GM. Good luck with that ATS review!

    A comparison could be the Hyundai Equus. However, the drivetrain platform is different. The XTS is FWD with available AWD and the Equus is rear wheel drive only.

  • @primeholyassasin20
    @primeholyassasin20 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not a competitor for 7 series or s class. It's front wheel drive base, so it's focusing more purely on luxury at the expense of driving dynamics, though it should still be solid in that aspect.

    I don't quite get how this particular Cadillac can sell for something as low as 60 k (fully loaded). Do you reckon its the v6 as opposed to it's comparon's v8 that makes for the staggering price difference? Pretty nifty looking thing, must admit but the front grill ain't my taste!

    I own a 2014 premium. So far great car. Low profile tires and 20” rims degrade the ride. Very smooth on the highway. Great gas mileage with base engine. On a fairly flat road you could approach 30 per gal. You will not be disappointed with this engine, plenty of power.the best way to use the navigation is to download the Cadillac app to your smartphone. Use the navigation function on the app to find whatever you r looking for and send it to the car,great feature. I got rid of the low profile tires.brought a set of Continental ExtremeContact DES06’s. My first winter and they r great. Low profile will not work in New England winters. Although i love this car before I die I will own a S Mercedes. Why? Because i want to ride like the One Percent in my last days.

That just seems super dangerous and distracting since the average Cadillac buyer is either old Floridians above the age of 80 or Rappers/the urban Hip Hop crowd both populations already have a difficult time paying attention on the road as is!

    I really like this car, I have driven it a couple of times now and it is on my Top 5 list of new cars to buy. I test drove the new Lexus GS yesterday though and loaded at the same price as the XTS Platinum, I would pick the Lexus over this. Realistically Cadillac needs to knock $10,000 off the price of this car.
    My buddy got rid of his S Class and just got a Platinum, and he likes it, but I think he is going to get an S Class again when the new model comes out.

    Cadillac needs stop trying to be a 'me too' and build their own cars for Americans. Manufactures should take a lesson from Honda motorcycles, used to be lightyears ahead of the field, then tried to our Harley, Harley and became copies.
