A sliders kit won't bother your bike. I just fell off and the sliders were really efectives. Do you ever think and put the 2019 exhaust pipe, for the ground clearance?
I’ve thought about a tail tidy and sliders, turn signals, and maybe some cosmetic changes like a seat cover and grips. Don’t think I’ll do much else with the exhaust or ground clearance, as I’m primarily riding streets and highways. I did find a nice curb to ride over to test/check city situations like jumping a curb that could come up, and it cleared that fine. 😃
I have a idea. If mirror screws are turning opposite ways, the reason can be preventing the screw to stuck when some hit mirror. If it is not made, someone hits from front right, mirror cannot be opened by handforce or screw hole might be broken.
That totally makes sense! So if my left mirror takes a front impact, I would expect it to loosen instead of break. Same on the right side where the threading is reversed and spinning clockwise would loosen the mirror. Prevents breaking upon impact.
I have seen info on the new model! I liked this write-up breaking down the various categories of updates for the 2024 model. www.motorcycledaily.com/2024/01/completely-new-svartpilen-401-and-vitpilen-401-models-introduced-by-husqvarna/ Will I upgrade? Probably not. I want to get my hands on one to do a thorough review and walk-through. I do like some of the notes about upgraded Gearbox, Tank Size, and Display. I understand why they do the mirrors like that, but if I got one, I'd still replace those with bar ends. I'm not sure that we really need a Rain Mode, but sure, fine. I'm planning to do a video about it, but the real magic is riding it, so I'll be keeping my eyes open for opportunities to do that. Reasons why I probably won't upgrade to the 2024 model. 1) I love my Svart and it has a special place in my garage as my first motorcycle. I want to keep it. 2) If I put money into upgrading to a 2024 model, it would slow down my savings for upgrading to a 765 Triumph Street Triple (RS or Moto2) or similar type of motorcycle. It would be cheaper to upgrade to the 2024 model for sure than get a second motorcycle, but if I'm going to be responsible (LOL) then I should really just save up for my next motorcycle. That said, so far, this channel is dedicated to Svartpilens. This channel will become obsolete if I don't upgrade or get another motorcycle. I'm still learning more and more maintenance, so I don't expect to stop doing videos yet. I also need to consider that I started this channel for fun, to share my joy for the Svartpilen and experiences as a newer rider. If I run out of content to share, I'm actually okay with that. Mission accomplished. 😃 Or maybe I just stop doing Svartpilen videos and start doing cat videos .... 🐈⬛
Can a 5’2 rider reach the floor? I’m considering getting a 2019 version for $3000, 1000 miles only. I wonder if there is after market suspension to lower it further
Probably not. I’m 5’6 with a 30 inch inseam and I can only tiptoe it. But, don’t tiptoe if you do get one. Get your left foot out solid on the ground so you can catch the weight. It IS pretty light at about 350 pounds wet. Best is to go sit on one if you can. I have heard of lowering the bike a few inches but don’t know a ton about that since I left it stock. There are kits out there.
It really will depend on what you can get for the bike itself and if you buy new or used. Mine was new and ran about $7500 out the door (USD) two years ago, but they were really hard to find so prices were high at the time. Service was $400 and $225 for my first two service appointments. Mods are completely up to you; FuelX + K&N filter+ DNA stage 2 filter was about $300. Check on insurance and get some quotes. Mine is pretty low, but it can vary quite a bit.
Hey, man. Love you videos. I live in russia and own svart myself. I love this bike, but because of this sanctions i can't buy any details from us or europe. So, i was wondering - can you help me buy fuel x lite? I can send you money for it. I would love to buy it myself, but i can't.
Thanks for the vids man, helping me out a ton with my 401
100% glad it's helpful!
I'm gonna get the new 2024. I like the way it looks a lot, I think one of best looking bikes out.
She’s a beaut but out the door around 1250-1750 more than the 2023 right now. You do get the 5 inch tft display which would be nice.

Rlly helpful thank you! I’m thinking of getting a svart for myself, mind if I ask how much this all cost in total? (+service costs?)
