Don’t Starve: Hamlet is a roguelike survival expansion for Don’t Starve, developed by Klei Entertainment, introducing a lush, procedurally generated jungle biome and a civilized pig society. Players explore ancient ruins, mysterious temples, and bustling pig cities, adapting to a world filled with new crafting recipes, exotic resources, and perilous challenges.
Survival is tougher than ever, with tropical storms, dense fog, and disease affecting food, health, and sanity management. Players must trade, farm, and navigate the intricate economy of the Pigmen, buying and selling goods while building a home within the aristocratic pig society. Encounters with hostile mobs, venomous creatures, and hidden traps make exploration risky, especially when delving into lost ruins filled with relics and ancient guardians.
With new playable characters like Wormwood and Wilba, challenging mechanics, and unique environmental hazards, Don’t Starve: Hamlet blends survival, adventure, and city-building elements in an exotic, Victorian-inspired world. Whether braving the jungle, uncovering secrets, or establishing trade routes, players must adapt quickly, strategize wisely, and embrace the unpredictable dangers of this deadly yet captivating expansion. - เกม
thank's for the video polar, i dont realy se anyone playing hamlet anymore
Funny fact: woodie is both the easiest character to play in this dlc , and the riskiest.
If you trigger a certain trap while doing ruin cleaning in beaver form , you are in the worst situation ever .
Allso willow is quin of the early game in ruins , and wormwood is the darling that just keeps on giving.
Polarlotus: "Yeah, we had to spend money (for a pith hat), but it's to survive." Me: Wow, this really IS capitalism!
Also, I love this video's idea right off the bat, because "Rags to Riches" is my fave way to play the Sims--AND, I've also tried to mix it with Don't Starve a few times (Sim-Willow living outside with only a camping firepit, tent, fishing pond, garden plot, bee box, etc.). So this is kind of right up both of those alleys! :)
Yeah, I'm glad you changed up the goal. It seemed like the end would always be grindy anyway.
A challenge shouldn't boil down to finding the right nine-to-five. ;P
@@Saiavinn well, it IS a capitalism challenge..
@@polarlotus Can we get a communist challenge equalise all have all own the same
I'm impressed by how determined you were to finish this. This is one of my favorite challenge videos from you because Hamlet is insanely interesting. I'd love to see more Hamlet challenges in the future.
Trust me, I have a lot of hamlet being prepped for the future!
The Iron Hulk being used as a war machine to destroy a city is somehting I should have expected. Whenever I play Hamlet my playstyle just doesn't work that well with it. I like to make a base and bunker down for a few days, In Hamlet you always have to keep moving, its about exploring constantly.
Recommendations to add to your house:
1. Make a tent room.
2. Add a fire pit to your kitchen.
3. Add a backyard that is outside your house.
4. Put farms in your greenhouse.
5. Make a garbage room.
6. Make a storage room.
7. Add drying racks to your kitchen.
8. Add an alchemy engine in your living room.
9. Replace the corner parts with better ones.
10. Make a magic room.
Amazing work you've done
Hamlet really is unforgiving
Last week I've died like 4 or 5 times trying to rush Mant Queen. And when I have finally defeated her I got softlocked by the game by being permanently stuck inside Mant Queen cave. Hamlet really never let's you fully feel like a winner
Quickest way is simply to rush the pig ruins. Get the relic and trade it for an executive hammer and hammer all the pig houses and decorations (they drop tons of oincs) go get the mandrakes that spawn in the jungle and then rob the bank and shop keepers that sell useless items (bank, blueprint store, food store, mud spa, the magic store, hat store) and just keep maybe the weapons store, oddities emporium for gears (needed for wx upgrades, sprinkler and fan) , coconades (needed for pugalisk) I get more money than I need this way for wx upgrades, dark swords and armor, cutlass, etc. I can defeat pugalisk on the first few days, iron hulk with the weapons and armor, and even ancient herald if I can find the ruins before humid season. Doing this also gives you living logs from the mandrakes I mentioned and you can go to the ends well for purple gems and teleport the iron hulk to big bird island to farm gears and ancient artifacts. By far THE fastest way much better than collecting relics, cutting hedges etc - a waste of time.
I have to say thanks for fueling my yearly dont starve obsession
By far the fastest way is rushing pig ruins to get the relic to trade for an executive hammer to hammer the decorations for tons of oincs, since theres lots of them in pig cities and they serve no purpose. Then get the staff and trade it to get the key to the city and become mayor and you will get infinite passive income (taxes) easy. Though hamlet isnt worth basing in with a town. Instead get all the money and materials and the keys, and then move to rog. More gold and silk, yet tons of purple gems from ends well, dark tatters for the best armor and backpack in the game and once you get thulecite crown you have the best head and body armor, you can keep buying weapons from the weapons shop (cutlass) and coconades to defeat the giants. Its much better than having regular pig houses, and you can just base next to pig king and glommer and the caves. Keep renewing the cave with seed of ruin etc.. this is ideal and the most straightforward and best way by far.
This is absurd (The most oincs I've ever had was 120!?). W Hamlet video
One thing that would make this very easy is repeatedly breaking and crafting banks, robbing them for 110 oincs, you could easily do this a good several times in one day
Not worth wasting materials (pig skin) to re craft and you can only buy so many things with oincs (unless you care about cosmetics?) most of the stores are useless. Only certain items, coconade useful for pugalisk, cloth for gas mask or pith hat, all the healing and food items inside stores suck.
@@x__mwr-r3q I mean you get half of what you used to craft it back, 60 oinc profit costing 2 cut stone and 2 pig skin, if the goal is 4k Oincs in a set time, that seems like a pretty good deal for any time you couldn't really effectively use getting money
Please please do more Hamlet stuff! I can see that this video did super well for views even though you only released it a day or two ago, so clearly there's an audience for it. If you enjoy Hamlet I would love to see more from that DLC, it's probably my favorite!
Looks like you moved to PC! Love your hamlet videos it's my Don't Starve DLC by far. Many happy wishes to you!
It's cool to see people including their failures. Thanks for the video!
ah capitalism, best thing to do in don't starve
37:36 fortnite godzilla burger
I’m a fein for Polarlotus content
Really well done video! Enjoyed this one alot
He should've played warbucks for maximum immersion
Ah , the irl imposible chalenge
Assuming you only use hedges you will need to harvest an average of 40 clippings a day wich requires roughly 1200 hedges
The next time you do an end montage in one of your videos, maybe something like, "Spandex Hydrox Fighting."
Personally I would have rather seen a challenge of someone earning 4k oincs in however long it takes rather than a shorter challenge. Thank you for the fun video though :)
Sseeing the second try end was heartbreaking 😭
Isn't ancient herald also just holding F? Like yeah you avoid the frogs or terrorbeaks, but then you just hold F, if you even fight that Herald because he favors frogs
Still a better design than womant, due to heralds being able to eventually swarm you in the aporkalypse (no cap to how many can spawn) it makes them a constant issue and easily overwhelming, womant will always be the easiest boss in possibly the entire dont starve franchise for the wrong reasons
Ah okay, that does make sense yeah. I will always appreciate the hives having like 4 stacks of honey though. It's the perfect thing to use your shiny new bundling wrap on, if you started in Hamlet
Awesome video! Would love to see more challenges like this 🎉
No. I cannot beat the RAGS to RICHES Challenge
I have been doing some wilba speedruns and this looks like a fun challenge to try
I really like the way the montage was edited
13:23 Well, that was unexpected :(
Idk can you?
Polar you should rank all bosses' theme (i THINK you havent)
Also this was a really really good video. The losses were painful to watch haha
Im working on it! Its just hard because im stumped between a few :(
REALLY excited for future videos keep going.
I think it would’ve been more interesting if you weren’t allowed to buy anything
I love your don't starve content
You can just make a pith hat. It’s not expensive
@@rellimarual i normally like to save the only guaranteed cloth drop from the balloon for gas mask since otherwise you need to rely on general store or smashing pot rng which in my experience sucks (ive been locked into the aporkalypse before)
@@polarlotus Relying on the general store RNG is cheaper than going for the hat store RNG, though, plus axes and pickaxes are actually things you can use
1:10 aw hell naw what a voice crack 😂
Fortnite godzilla burger did make me laugh, thank you.
