I've had one for about a year now, and I really like it (mine has a metal plate instead of the sticker, though). I love being able to set and forget, and I've also successfully used it for simpler things like burgers and hotdogs. I've also cooked a whole chicken on there. I too wish it was a bit bigger, but I figured, with the smaller size, it probably doesn't take as long or as much charcoal as it would if it was bigger. I really like mine, and am going to try and smoke my Thanksgiving turkey on it.
That’s awesome! I really enjoy mine too. I like that you can use it for just about anything. I have smoked two turkeys in it this year and they both turned out fantastic! You will have to let us know how yours turns out. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!
Daggum !!! It’s about Flipping time Brother. That little can Cooker looked pretty cool. It’s definitely a unique concept. That went way out of there way to not step on the toes of Pit Barrel Cooker. Great idea. It’s going to be interesting to see you do a significant cook. Anyhow, WELCOME BACK!!
Thanks I appreciate it! Ya it’s been way too long. Felt good to get another video done. On to the next. Love your new channel name btw! Keep it up as well! 👍👍
Great vid, Kenny. Good to see you back. I’ve been on a hiatus myself (newborn baby). The Po’Man reminds me of a cheaper version of the Barrelhouse Cooker, if that’s even possible. 😂
I had to hit this video next to catch up on the Po' Man Grill from the Turkey video. That's pretty sweet, huh? Man... finally a dumpster fire I can really get behind.
Alcohol will work just fine, and simple 1 inch brass gated valve from any hardware store with close nipples and Black Iron FTP floor flange {cheap} air intake / temp control!
That's exactly what I was thinking, I just made a uds and this little guy would be a smaller version of mine. Just add some brass ball valves and pinwheel exhaust. 👍👍
Any one can buy a smoker, but to make one? Is a game changer 👍👍 I love people who save on money You just spent good money foolishly 👎👎 Where you could have got a 31 gal Metal one for 29 bucks Plus its Galvanized, Never rust out
No definitely stay away from galvanized trash cans. The zinc coating can be harmful in large quantities from what I have learned. The Po’Man is constructed of quality rolled steel and has been coated with durable high-temp BBQ paint. It could be possible to treat a galvanized can though. Maybe if you burned the can to remove the coating then paint the can with the high-temp paint... might work! Thanks for watching!
@@BaumGrillinzBBQGalvanization is a zinc coating and zinc vaporizes above 900°F. Even searing steaks you aren't getting to 900°F, especially with charcoal. I've been using galvanized trashcans for smoking meat for nearly 2 decades. I had a Berhens 30 gallon until a few years back I wanted to downgrade to the 20gallon because I don't throw the big parties I used to in my younger days.
you could probably drill some small holes above the air vents and attach some soup can sized lids with wingnuts to control the air flow. Same with the lid so you don't have to crack the whole cover. That make sense?
I was thinking of doing something like that! I think it would definitely help control the temperature a little better. The lid is a little finicky when it comes to getting the right gap. Would be nice to just move a vent open like on a weber. 👍
meh. . . . Webber 22 in is about the same price (and structurally more sound). Its got a height advantage, but I could buy an aluminum garbage can, some grill paint, and a few accessories and make the same thing for less.
Your editing and production value is above the competition , you got skills , enjoyed the vid
Thank you, I appreciate it! I enjoy the process and am glad others enjoy it as well.
It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it. (At least that's what she tells me). Haha, welcome back brother!
Haha! So very true! I think the grill will do really well. Your encouragement on your last comment got me back into the game! Thanks again Mark!
@@BaumGrillinzBBQ that's so awesome to hear. Glad you're back.
Got my first Po’Man can in 2016..??… 2017 maybe 🤷🏻♀️
Best damn grill / smoker EVER!!! Just got a new one 2021!!!! Breaking it in tomorrow!!!
That’s awesome! How was the break in? Love my Po’Man!!

Seems like it would be kinda cool for camping.
Ya! I would totally take this camping with me!
Nice
Thanks!
That plate looks like a way to facilitate indirect heating.
Subbed as soon as I saw the leatherman. 🤣 It was gonna happen anyway because I gotta pick your brain.
This grill is on my short list. Awesome concept.
Haha thank you! I really appreciate the support! I enjoy this grill it’s very simple yet unique and it also works great!
Looks like the alcohol worked great, I had my doubts. Nice to see you back on. The chicken recipe looks good.
I was skeptical as well. But it did fine! The alcohol was cheap too. But, then again so is free newspapers lol
Has anyone done a brisket on this guy? I’ve had one for a while and wanna see if someone has done one

Congrats on the new baby! Ya things can get crazy from time to time but we all have lives! The cooker is definitely a poor mans grill haha

Man... finally a dumpster fire I can really get behind.
Hahaha!! So funny!
Welcome back my man !
Thank you!! It feels good! Haha
That intro had me LMAO.
Haha glad you liked it!
Not an all bad little cooker be great for a couple pork butts! Good seeing you again Kenny !
My goodness, is it really that hard to read instructions? My gas grill hasn’t been used in 3 years. Po Man can’t be beat!

That is really neat. I need one. Really really cool
Ya! I thought it was a really cool looking grill. And it seems to function well, which is awesome! Thanks for watching Corby!

Thank you! I really enjoy this grill 👍
nice...
Thanks, but I already have a Firebox Stove. Hahaha!
Haha! Love my firebox!
Can you use galvanize can

Its not a poor mans smoker 👉👉 but a "SMART MANS SMOKER"
Whatttttt i froom Brazil okay
Thanks for watching from Brazil!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😄
Cool grill, just make sure the kids and drunk friends know its a cooker and not a real trash can at the next cookout!
Haha so very true! I could see something like that happening lol

First of all galvanized is not a good for your health and secondo you paint it what a mess good lock ...use Stainless bonhomme
Stop opening lid

Bill Sullivan good luck with that...👍😂🙄
You better have some welding skills as well as youtube criticism & for time & material I'll pay $150 lol
