This movie made me connect with her that I actually caught myself getting upset at the uninvited guests in the movie. I don't think a movie had ever done that for me.
It's great to see a big name director and actors take such a risk to create such an engaging and intelligent and creative film. I saw it maybe 2 years ago....and I still think about it. Certain scenes PERFECTLY captured not just the look, but the FEEL, of an anxiety dream. In fact, I've never seen a film that so perfectly captures the *_feel_* of dreams. Inception is amazing, but real dreams aren't quite like that. But Mother perfectly conjured that _feeling._
Heres Johnny - Yes, this is exactly how real nightmares are...not like they show in typical horror films...real nightmares are anxiety-ridden feverdreams that keep changing and changing and you have no control over anything. I would never watch this again, but damn was it well done.
@@sign543 Exactly. First time I saw this....I was astounded by how perfectly they captured not only the look, but the FEEL, of an anxiety-ridden dream. It's such a specific and hard to articulate feeling.....but they nailed it.
Thank you. Why does it have to be about the Bible? I didn’t pick up ANY of the religious imagery when I first watched and I still love it. Actually watched it for the 3rd time last night and I’m starting to like it less now that I know what aronovsky was going for. Even in interviews and articles all I read about is the fricken BIBLE! What else was he trying to say? There is so much commentary on society and the world in general and I feel like no one is talking about it.
Bill Stone ...or Chris could stop making videos all together and just let Jeremy review all the movies from now on.. My point is they will have different things to say.
Spoilers for a three-year-old movie The entire movie is the Bible. The character names of Him and Mother show that he is God and she is mother Earth. The film goes through the arrival of Adam and Eve and the banishment from the garden, the conflict of Cain and Abel, the flood of Noah, the birth and death of Christ, leading to today and it's all from the perspective of Mother. Her house is our planet as she sees it.
@@follymalware5488 Mother tells people to get off of the counter and, when they don't, it breaks causing water to spray everywhere. This is the moment when she snaps and banishes everyone from the house. This alone would've been enough but the symbolism is pushed further when it starts pouring rain outside immediately after.
@@karlazeen This film is considered to be generally offensive by Christians. It sickly twists elements of basic Christian theology. Please do not let this film warp your view of Christianity. Go research Christianity from a Christian source. Go read the Gospels in the New Testament.
I absolutely agree with his opinion of who the main characters represent. That allegory seems obvious. Another thing that could be stressed is how feminine and masculine relate to each party. His poem is a product of the male ego, taking credit for everything she created.
@Disney is the Devil probably because all the things that men ever created in history have been built on the backs of unpaid and undervalued domestic female labour, exactly how the movie indicated 🤷🏽♀️
You completely misinterpret the allegory. "Mother" (Earth) creates a paradise for herself and "him" (God) - as she literally said in the movie. This paradise does not contain humans, (it is the perfect harmony of plants and animals). Then Adam, Eva, their children Cain and Abel and many more humans appear and are welcomed by god and destroy paradise and kill god's child, Jesus. Nonetheless God requests Earth to forgive humans for all they have done. Earth asks god, "Who are you?" and God answers, "I am I". Earth also asks God why he did what he did. He answers, "I create things." That self identification and definition of God is literally from the bible.
@@Viewable11 The movie doesn't have to be limited to one symbolic meaning. The religious is there, yes, which OP actually says if you actually bother to read their comment. But I also thought that there was a clear symbolism to the way men and women were portrayed in the movie.
Mc Lovin I watched it again a month later after I first saw it. Got the Blu-ray for my birthday. Even though I knew exactly what was going to happen, my heart was still pounding during the last 15 minutes. What a masterpiece. It’s so amazing how it drastically shifts in tone.
This movie attempts to answer the question, "Why doesn't God interfere with humanity's suffering?" This movie deserves a broader discussion. I can't stop thinking about it. Very impactful!
Hurry Calls It's more impactful when you see it, but in the movie, He is narcissistic and more interested in admiration and others worshiping him like a celebrity than actually helping anyone. His written word (Bible) is all the help he provides. Seeing it this way, there's no doubt why so many critics were offended. I think the movie is a reflection of ourself and the role we play on this earth, and so many people may look at that reflection and not like what they see. It's deep.
I honestly wasn't expecting the performance she gave. There were a few points where I had to remind myself it was Lawrence who was playing this character, and not a different actress.
Really? I honestly don't see how anyone raised in the Western world wouldn't immediately see it's a Biblical allegory. The home is Eden, brother kills brother, they all get kicked out, and later, the crowd kills the son of god and eats his flesh and blood, all while fighting amongst themselves.
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks There's definitely that aspect that the writer pulls from. However, the film at its core, is mostly an environmental allegory... The woman being Mother Nature. The home being the Earth. The child being nature's resources. Ending with Mother (Nature) spazzing out and destroying the home (Earth), after the def of her child (natural resources), who was consumed by the overpopulated guess of the house (mankind). She even went to Earth's core (where the furnace was at), to set it ablaze.
To be honest I can 100% understand why a large portion of the mainstream audience absolutely hated this movie. Your average movie goer doesn't do well with allegory, and this movie is DENSE with allegory, to the point where every single thing that happens is a metaphor for something else. Personally I didn't pick up on the mother earth thing when I first saw it, rather I saw Jennifer Lawrence's character as a representation of the gullibility, forgiveness, obedience and good will that religious institutions demand despite the evil people inflict upon one another, and most importantly the woman's perceived role in religion. One thing it makes extremely clear is the hypocrisy of the pressure that is put on women to bear children and be caretakers, while simultaneously being looked down upon and demeaned for their sexuality.
@@Tugisawesome Religion is corrupted. Yes, but stop letting satanic people define who God is. I watched the film, it was clearly a disgusting depiction of God. The person who wrote it is sick and clearly is biased to believe this is what Christianity is. A sick cult. Little did they know the person who wrote it was probably involved in some sort of satanism. Right (Now im crazy) This shit is real. If you read the gospel, you'd understand that Jesus wasn't just human. He was God in human form. He is God. What they were doing is satanic practice. Usually involves sexual practices and children (God's innocent creation). Jesus loves children and He told us we must become like them to enter the kingdom of heaven. Satan takes the innocence of a child, and destroys it. That is why there are so many pedophiles and satanic people in hollywood. (Pizzagate) You can say. it's not real. But you probably didn't know that Hillary Clinton was recently in court for mutilating and murdering a ten year old kid. You guys have no idea what's happening and whats real or not. Some of your favorite celebrities are part of it. Isaac Kappy warned us. Then all of a sudden he 'Committed Suicide' same with Kurt Cobain. You all need Jesus because this world is filled with unimaginable evil and you guys will be brainwashed to believe it's not by the people you admire on tv. Pretty sure the writer in this film is part of it all. Look up Isaac Kappy, he called the celebs out. He died days later.
I saw another video where it explains everything: The main character represents God, Jennifer Lawrence- Earth. Adam and Eve when they broke the diamond- the same that happened in the Bible with the Serpent. Then when Cain kills Abel and afterwards the offspring of Adam and Eve, that's why there are a lot of people coming over. Later on, the main character writes a book. It becomes best seller (the Bible) then there are many people who are looking for God, many that want to meet him. Jennifer Lawrence has a baby (Jesus) and we know the story... he gets killed by the same people who supposedly where looking for God and so on...
Danijel B. I'm with you. I'm surprised most people didn't pick up on what it meant the first time around, but then, of course, I grew up in a devoutly religious home. This movie went into my top ten immediately.
I thought it was amazing, I've seen films before that have great reviews and thought they were terrible (e.g It Follows), even movies that are considered masterpieces and iconic like The Shining and I've not been overly impressed, Mother! for me, genuinely is a masterpiece and yet so many people shit on it. I don't get it
I’ve studied cinematography for 3 years and when a movie really messes with your feelings then it’s a good one. The movie has affected its audience like it should. I felt like suffocating, overpowered and claustrophobic. Sure those feelings don’t feel nice but it has held you in its grips an you just don’t let it flow away like any other movie that you’ve forgotten 7 minutes after watching it. The symbolism is also AMAZING, almost everything has a meaning and when u dig more into it and get to know the director meant the whole ordeal in a biblical context it gets even better. I see more details and metaphors each time. Mainstream audience will find this a bad movie, like expected tbh. People don’t like “different” things, they want to feel safe with things they already are familiar with. And it’s not a bash, it’s just how it is. I could go on but I feel like my comment is already long enough. It’s just a gem of a movie that people can’t accept yet. (The movie really made me say “what the fuck, did this really just happen!?” And I nearly never say that since most movies are really simple and you can just guess what’s about to happen, making it actually laughable.)
I'm convinced that you have to be open to the idea that humans are terrible to appreciate this movie. Without that I think people get hung up on the strangeness of the story.
Am I the only one who was totally blown away by this movie? It started slow but the final half hour left me in awe. Like Aranofsky says, the only failure to him would be making a movie that garners no response (good or bad), so he's definitely succeeded in this movie
Backstage Bum I agree with much of what you say, but the Fountain is one of the worst movies ever made. Upon watching Mother! I got why people love/hate it, but felt it was trying too hard. You sit down and muse on it trying to find a deepen meaning and it turns in on itself, and maybe that is why he had to make it. Ultimately I think it is all about the creative process and letting go, which is what he did in making this, which may be the cool part. If he is a student filmmaker then he is the best the world has seen.
Biggest piece of shit I’ve ever seen!!! EVER! And I saw it at Radio City Music Hall. Shit is shit I left the theater and never thought about it again!,,
Biblical references?? The movie IS the bible. How is no one realizing this? Did we just miss the Adam and Eve, Cain and Able, and JESUS? I don't think this movie is very ambiguous at all, except maybe the ending.
I actually think its the Bible from Satan's perspective. A kind of artsy film adaptation of Paradise Lost. I think the House is actually the earth. And Lawrence's character is Satan. This would make the ending more understandable.
This movie is already one of my favorite films of all time. It was technically well crafted and directed, it was extremely well acted by everyone involved, props go to Jennifer Lawrence being able to essentially carry this entire film by herself. I loved the visceral imagery of it and it had me gasping and shaking in the theater. No film has been able to accomplish that and this wasn't even a horror film. It was moving, it has powerful messages about religion, you can take certain perspectives from this film and this film we'll be talked about for a long time. I love this movie and even though it isn't subtle, it doesn't have to be, to be a great film and this movie certainly was a fantastic film!
Absolutely loved this film. It was such a trip. Everyone in the cinema seemed to hate it though. The girl next to me said "literally the worst thing I have ever seen", another guy walked out, another guy said "total waste of two hours". Maybe that's the mark of good art? People hating it. Otherwise you're just conforming to people's expectations and not moving the medium forward. If you're going to watch it, just go with it. It's so layered. Can be interpreted on so many levels.
if that's "art" than so are my farts...The Fountain was the only great Aronofsky film...all the rest are self-obsessed, pretentious displays of exhibitionism...
Kristiaan Kristiaan Not really. How many people hate the Godfather, and how many people hate the Emoji movie? That’s not to say that sometimes great works of art aren’t also hated by some people, but it’s no sign of quality.
Kristiaan Kristiaan it’s not layered... arenofsky literally said in an interview that it’s a giant allegory to the Bible and humanities abuse on Mother Nature.... its a multi-million dollar student film with a lot of imagery, but no substance whatsoever....
SPOILERS.... This Movie is GENIUS. I was raised a Catholic but have questioned my Faith... so this movie was perfect for me. -Kane and Abel -Adam and Eve (Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer)... Eve always wanted to go into the "FORBIDEN" Room... they broke the Crystal (aka bit the Apple) -The Last Supper -Flesh of my Flesh... Blood of my Blood -The Baby = Jesus Christ -Jennifer Lawrence can be Mother Earth and Mother Mary at the same time -Jarvier Bardem can be God OR the Devil (his ripped up photo has drawn-on Horns and goatee) -THE REVELATIONS (last War-Scene) -Humanity killing eachother in the name of God, when God can no longer stop them. -Re-creation This movie had fucking EVERY SINGLE THING IN ONE.... I honestly can't believe how much Hate is getting. I even saw this with a friend, I can understand why he hated it, but he HATED IT. Even at the end he was saying "How long is this Movie?". Kept saying "What the fuck?"..."I can't wait for this to be Over". I honestly LOVED LOVED LOVED this movie. I was one of the few who didn't hate "NOAH" because I liked scenes of Creation, and Kane and Abel... and Adam and Eve.... this was all that ON CRACK!!!! A from me.
Saw this last night with my actual mother. Almost apologised to her after we watched it for how insane and graphic it was but she loved it. So did I. I haven't felt so unsettled after a movie since I saw Under the Skin.
Isaiah Phillip This film hits you in the face, chest, brain, and balls with anxiety just like that. Under the Skin, while disturbing was enticing. mother! is too, but it laughs at you in the face if you think it’s going to pull any punches. Just know there’s some very messed up things in it.
I tried to avoid watching this movie while my wife was pregnant, now 1 year after I decided that “maybe” we should see it. Cannot imagine the anxiety of the scene of the baby and when the people of the cult take him.
I love your analysis Chris. Your thoughts at the end are VERY interesting. If that's the case then this is one of those movies that may require a second watch. Oscar season is slowly approaching and I could not be more excited.
I got it what Chris is trying to analysis. But seriously WTF the movie could ended in 1hr 20 min but it dragged too long and didnt explain shit,no story,no drama,no action,no nothing, atleast explain something so audience can fucking understand. If they wanted to make a commericial then give away something if not then keep it for film festival where all the "smart"ppl can understand. fucking worst movie to talk about. I got it director try to give reference but seriously what should i consider this movie?a drama?crime, thrilller?action?waste of fucking 2 hrs for no reason put everything together to people to talk about this movie if they want to otherwise most ppl wont get it.Im done talking.fucking fucked up movie of all time, you guys can say wtever seriously damn!!
SPOILERS The movie tells the story of the bible and everything fits into place. Ed Harris and Michelle Pfieffer are Adam and Eve, their children Cane and Abel. The sink breaking represents the flood which purges the first group of sinners. The crystal is the fruit of the tree of knowledge. The study is the garden of Eden. And of course the baby is Jesus. "For God so loved the world he gave them his only begotten son"
Jacob Staten sure, but I'm talking about the final scene of the movie, where the God character creates a brand new *Earth* after the old one gets completely obliterated. There's nothing in the Bible saying that creation is a cyclic or trial-and-error type process. Although, that process of continuous rebirth after death *is* present in Hindu belief. Maybe the director mixed some aspects of different belief systems into the over-arching Christian one.
Who are you talking to? I don't own a phone. Not even an Obama phone. I agree, JL is talented. Her best attribute is her intelligence and sense of wonder. But I've seen her in a number of films and the frame she operates in is not expanding. Plus she when you blame Trump for all the trouble in the world you care less about your craft and more about your public voice. My own jury is still out: does she have THE CHOPS to last..? I don't know. I'm sad too she has a face full of Botox. She's only 27... these things have me questioning her dedication to acting. Seems more interested to be an activist and not an actor.
Holy shit. I watched this last night after watching your review and I was physically shaken by this movie. I have never had such a visceral reaction to a movie like this. My heart was racing and I couldn't seem to catch my breath until I was home. The last 40-ish minutes were so frantic and claustrophobic and intense. Thank you for your review and inspiring me to see it.
SPOILERS Some biblical references? Dude, the whole movie (more or less) follows many events of the Bible. I hear a lot of people saying they have their specific interpretations of the movie (religion, how fame affects human interaction, the relationship between an artist and their creations), and I believe Aronofsky is telling telling a tale about all of this, but it's pretty darn obvious (to me, at least) that it follows the events of the Bible. God creating the Earth which is a paradise before Man comes along (Ed Harris being Adam and maybe an Abraham-type figure, being the head of a large family; Michelle Pfiefer, Eve). Him walks with Man as God walks with God while Woman goes where she should not like Eve picks the forbidden fruit. The house floods in time for it to rain outside, and then all of the guests flee; sorts like how the great flood killed (almost) all of mankind. mother finds a toad in the cellar in reference to the plagues in Exodus. I could go on, but it seemed kind of obvious (which symbolism does need to be or else it's subtext). Thematically rich movie, nevertheless. I would be interested in watching this movie "Analyzed and Explained" by you.
ty, now i'm super-interested.i want to go as a non-spoilt virgin so I'm being very careful what i read re the film right now..thanks again for telling me that though because that has a special interest to myself ... et carter
Spencer Nielsen Wow, I just saw it thinking WTF if I'm honest! Lol. Fascinating reading what others see I didn't, not once did religion pop in my head! I was thinking "I'm totally lost as to why all these ppl are behaving so terribly and why they are there at all!"? Why doesn't he tell em to fuk off etc. As soon as the credits rolled I came to see an explanation of what I've saw
I think this movie did a great job of getting across its story. It's a movie about the history of man as they slowly take and destroy the planet, using the entire Bible as a story structure for the life of man from the first man to the end of Earth.
i know that arronsky has kinda confirmed that religion is the main idea of this movie. but i thought when i walked out of this movie. it was about creativity and celebrity worship and how society can take creative work and impose them self's on it to an unhealthy degree. like when one character says "his words are your words". or them taking a baby ie (someone's creative work) and consuming it. basically to the point of infatuation and destroying someones personal life (the home). or form the more literal view point, the side of the mother. having a kid and the fears of the outside world corrupting your child. like looting, rioting, war, and everything else on display in the house at he end of the film. but then only to find out, that this was only some kinda visual allegory of genesis is somewhat disappointing.
Can't believe Jennifer Lawrence got a razzie nomination for her performance. She was so good. Showed a constant internal suffering and really powerful breakdown.
It was more because the movie is so purposefully disturbing and tryhard. It's also biased and terribly written that no matter how good her preformance is, the movie was pretty shit. And it has an effect on everyones preformance.
Aronofsky knows how to amp up tension through out a film to the point where you feel like your heart is going to explode. Requiem did that, and so does this film.
Its a Brilliant Twisted Allegorical Masterpiece. But unfortunately mainstream audiences are not ready for this film, and im sure the misleading marketing campaign doesn't help.
What she means, is that we who study film are a privileged few, and when we get excited about cinema (which we clearly do, because it's one of the most exciting things a person can do, hands down), we tend to alienate the poor masses, who haven't the privilege of studying films. And just because you mentioned "mainstream audiences" - she thinks you said it condescendingly, which I don't think you did. But that's a matter of perspective. But she's probably bitter because she truly didn't understand the film (and I'm not just referring to the meaning of the film, but the aesthetics, the vibe, everything).
Bela Tarr oh god. You are so full of yourself, aren't you? First of all, you know nothing about what I meant. I meant that mainstream audiences are the ones that enjoy this garbage. You belong in this category, by the way. Art is sophisticated in one way or another, this has sloppy writing, poor acting from the lead, awkward pacing
Chris' comment section is full of the most unfunniest people on TH-cam. Always repeating the same unoriginal jokes that were funny once last year. The worst part is that people give them likes so that's the only comments you see.
I commented this on his last video but it's relevant here so I'll re-post: This comment section has been a chaotic meme farm for a long time, mostly because Chris has no presence here. When a content creator responds to comments, it creates this dynamic where people are generally more respectful in the comments because they know that the content creator might respond. When you never respond to comments, you get a comments section like this. I don't expect him to reply to every comment, he's got over a million subscribers. But if he would just pin a comment once in a while it would make a big difference. Chris is clearly very good with fan interaction, for example giving that guy a birthday shout out recently. He obviously cares about his fans. I just wish he would apply that mentality down here in the comments. +Brian. Jr Montoya "RLM videos have the same problem." Exactly, and when was the last time you saw them interact with fans in the comments section?
Moral of the movie: People are praising God while at the same time destroying Mother Earth. The movie resets because we have a chance to start over and save Her.
I think it's quite obvious that this is a hardcore, detailed retelling of the bible. Old testament. Garden of eden. The flood. New testament Cannibal christians. Its brilliant
Just rented this movie last night and was totally blown away. I did not understand it at all until I read some analysis and now I feel dumb for not figuring it out myself. I gotta say it really is an amazing film albeit very disturbing
I've seen the film only twice, and it's definitely in my top 20 of all time. It's so visceral and disturbing that it would surely leave a mark on you, rendering it hard to revisit. What a masterpiece.
The movie is highly disturbing, yet, a testament to the unheard voices that cry out to us. It’s disturbing the way that we reject people based on a social conjecture, or Facebook, TH-cam, mainstream tv. It’s all insane, but inside look at the desperation of wiser mediums in portraying their pain and trauma.
When the movie ended everyone at the movies was so quiet, like people got up completely silent, I have never seen that before. When I got home I couldn't stop thinking about everything that happened there, it was definitely a wild ride.
There's a very good reason for the close ups of Jennifer and the circular camera work. She represents Earth at the beginning , beautiful innocent and unspoilt. There was nothing in the beginning other than Mother nature/earth so the focus was intentional. And it's his girlfriend.
s askew and also, it is supposed to be claustrophobic and show us hiw she feels having to work all the time and being ignored by the God who only cares about his book.
Knowing anything about this movie before watching this movie will undoubtably ruin this movie. I watched blind. Didn’t know who was in it as didn’t look. All I knew is that it was called mother. I’m starting to think more movies should be watched like that.
You can see it as God, Mother Nature. But to me I also see it more simply as fame/Hollywood as Bardem and Lawrence is the embodiment of actors themselves. People in this comment section further prove the point of the film, where people adore the art of the artist but neglect the human behind the art. People take the artists creation and tear it apart to satisfy themselves. There's even a couple scenes representative of any given comment section where people are in battle. Then once they've taken all they can, a new actor comes along to replace them. I think it covers my view and your view in a weirdly effective way. I could not think of a better time for JLaw to have taken this role, oh the irony of reading these comments after seeing this film, I would hope it gives people some new perspective on fame and celebrities. It tackles a lot of themes and ideas that would be more clear on a second viewing. Interesting to see how mainstream audiences react to it, it's a doozy for sure.
Walter White but the art is not the artist... I get that I might be hard to hear your work torn apart by someone but that's life. Not everyone is going to like your work or you. People shouldn't skirt around their feelings and viewpoints on a piece of art just to spare the artists feelings (being mean just for the sake of it is another story). People must learn that there's a difference between the art and the artist. One should be able to critic art without worry about the artists feelings.
For me those scenes in which more and more people come into the house felt so close to nightmares, where you are just stuck in a terrible situation that just keeps getting worse and worse and it makes no sense, you are helplessly confused and you can't get out of it. So impressive how Arranofsky directed this movie. I have never seen a dream/nightmare so well represented in any medium. And it wasn't even a literal nightmare (probably; who knows?).
I just watched "mother!" Chris, and I agree with everything you said about the film. I guarantee that not everyone will like this film. Some might call it "ambitious", while some might call it "pretentious". After watching "mother!" in theaters, I'm more on the spectrum of people praising the movie. While I do find the message to be obvious, the way Darren Aronofsky directed it was insane. I was left in shock after it ended. I'm surprised that it took Aronofsky 5 days to write the script. Like I said, a lot of people won't like this movie, and I respect your opinion. But to me, I found "mother!" to be unique.
Connor Morley Completely agree. There is something so inviting about it. While it may be obvious to some, it flies over the heads of many. People in the theater after the movie finished were saying they didn't understand it and that it was just weird. People don't think anymore. I just loved this film. It connected to me on a personal note as a Christian. I see why many would be offended but imo the movie isn't stating we are stuck in a loop, its asking the question are we stuck in a loop. Its very similar to the book of Ecclesiastes which asks many existential questions about God and man. Loved this film
I feel like the extensive use of closeup could be alluding to the fact that people always seem to be on top of everything that celebrities are doing. This would add to the theory of looking at the film as a comment on celebrity culture.
I feel like more that purpose was to make the movie as if you're looking into one's perspective of life. Like Chris and Jeremy Jahns, Veronica represents Mother Earth, and Him (Javier Bardem, yes that is his credited name) is God. In Him's eyes, which we are not invited into seeing his perspective, he is a creator and people love and adore him and all of these people (The Human Population) who are doing all of these wrongs in front of him, are steadily forgiven by him, which is usually God's mindset. On the other hand, we have Mother Earth... Veronica (played by Jennifer Lawrence). Veronica, like Mother Earth, has worked her ass off to set everything right to fit her and her family. Yet, The rude guest in her house, symbolic of us, the human population, are messing up everything they set right for us, and our sins are represented by Mother Earth's begging for us to stop, and as we say "Yes", we still do the same thing, disobeying. And the more we ask, and mess up her stuff, we still ignore and do what we can to please God. We cant see the good out of any of this because we are in Her perspective, not Him's (God). We are in her eyes, and In her eyes throughout the movie, Mother Earth, unlike God, Sees us as hard headed shithead... Because we are😂 In Conclusion, God is an asshole. I see why Atheists are Atheists.
It could also be interpreted as Greek mythology. Ya know, Zeus, Hera, Prometheus and so on. I can also see the husband being either god or the devil or Joseph . The mother being an extension of earth/nature or Mary.
Doctor Oswald Well, their son killed his brother. If I remember correctly, Kain and Abel were the offspring of Adam and Eve, so there's a direct correlation. Not sure if there's a mirror story to that in Greek mythology though, to be fair.
claudevi1 maybe she Lilith and mother and him are Adam and Eve, Lilith is from the Jewish version of the Christian version of that story so yeah rambling
Just finished this, extremely good, the mystery as to what was going on kept me going. The more intense parts were like a nightmare and I felt like they would never end (probably the point). The more graphic parts near the end were a bit much and I could have done without them. The frustration of Jennifer Lawrence’s character was infuriating, because I wanted so much to help her throughout essentially the entire movie. She was in constant confusion (as was I) and I kept waiting for clarity as to what was happening. This is extremely well made, I would just warn people that once things get out of hand in the movie’s plot they only get worse. GRAPHIC IMAGERY WARNING!!!
Great review as always Chris! I watched this movie with my mom last night, and after it ended we both had no words to describe this film. I have newfound respect for Jennifer Lawrence and the other actors/actresses for taking on these roles.
I'm not particularly interested in watching this movie, but I'd love for you to do a spoiler review of it, I'm curious to know why this movie is considered "shocking and bizarre"
DARE to enter a house that literally has a beating heart! WATCH in horror as they kill and eat a baby on screen! SEE Jennifer Lawrence walk around a house in a revealing shirt! REVOLT with anger when you realize you were lied to by advertising and you just spent 12 bucks to watch an experimental gross out film about Climate Change!
There is really nothing to spoil, because there is no traditional linear narrative in it. It was like watching someone's nightmare or delirium hallucination - you just can't understand it logically, but you can feel what it is about intuitevely. Chris's interpretation is interesting for me, because I have no such angle after watching at all. I felt that this movie is a very accurate metaphoric representation of romantic relationship with narcissist (red flags, constant feeling of something wrong going on with visibility of happiness, so called "gaslighting", etc.). My main feeling was that this movie is very personal for the director, like he was traumatised by someone or he was the one who caused the trauma, but he just couldn't explain what was happening (it's the main feeling of Laurence characters - she is in a constant confusion about events).
I watched this movie with a group of friends just to see their reactions. In the first act everyone was talking and acting stupid (we're a bunch of teenagers so what would we do?). But when the film ended I didn't even hear them breathing.
I just watched it again and had a panic attack when watching the insane final scene lol. I loved Jennifer’s performance, I felt for her character so strongly, and I liked how bold it was. Don’t think it was pretentious at all, especially now in 2020’s climate.
I think it’s only Mother and Hereditary that have had me still thinking about them more than a year later. Both are brilliant, but as a formerly active member of the baptist church, I think Mother is one of the best films I’ve ever seen. It’s commentary (as I’ve interpreted it) on the state of the world and the churches role in getting us to this point is nearly perfect. I get why this movie is so divisive, but that’s exactly why it has the lasting impact in my mind that it does. I’ll see anything this director puts out.
Why???? From the director of Black Swan WHy NOT? With great actors like Javier Bardem and Jennifer Lawrence why not??? Are you one of thsoe basic fanboys that fall into the hype and then fall out and hate?
From the script notes I've read your interpretations are correct. Also the first house and mother can be looked at as the old testimate time line. The current house and mother take place in the presence of the new testimate God. Loved the film thought Jennifer Lawrence's performance added a very needed gravity that brings out the viewers emotions
Was at the premiere of 'Mother!' at TIFF and Darren Aronofsky gave us one way to interpret this whole film during the Q&A. This film is metaphorical on so many levels, from the bible to human history in relation to "Mother Earth". Ingmar Bergman would be so proud of Mr.Aronofsky. And yes you may think that this is all so pretentious but I don't. It's a well thought-out film that will win the test of time trust me.
Lawrence got so famous that she has groups of people hating on her in every video that mentions her name, boycotting her films, calling her a "terrible human being" and not one of these people can give actual reasons as to why. Impressive!
This movie is vastly unique and very original. The puzzle and confusion surrounding the plot is really what drew me in to watch the film more. Jennifer Lawrence proves to be one of the best actresses today by giving us one of her best performances yet. She is a very strong character and goes through a lot chaotic moments in the film. Everytime she struggles to keep the house clean and safe from all the visitors, I felt sympathy for her. Her brilliant acting felt and looked so real that I did start to worry about her. That's a sign of amazing character development. This movie as I mentioned earlier is not very clear, it does have a lot interpretations coming from the audience. We don't get movies like mother!, this movie is metaphorical, it has it's own purpose yet we still do struggle to find that purpose by creating our own interpretations of the movie. Do we ever get movies like that? No, we don't. This movie is original and that is what makes this movie an incredible experience for me, because I have never experienced anything like this ever in my life.
HAHAHAHA! This comment made me laugh so loud my boss came over and I thought I was gonna get fired for watching youtube at work but instead we started talking about Chris because my boss watches Him too!
For me this movie is Darren Aronofsky struggled with inspiration and critics. Mother is his inspiration, Harris is a mentor he is reaching to or old style of writing he is used to that is dying. Pfeiffer is the commercial aspect of it all. The two brother being sons of Harris are fighting over the direction or style he should take, there can only be one. And everyone else's are the critics that "Him" always want to please. He even dropped them the most beautiful creation "Mother" "His inspiration" gave him, he just gave his too fresh born idea to the masses who just destroyed it. He then took her dried-out heart and moved on to the next... I supposed it's because I write that I saw this and nothing biblical in that movie. Anyway, first time seing it yesterday, and definitely another viewing tonight... -B
This is one of my favorite effed up movies. I was anxiety ridden throughout most of it and there are some truly jarring scenes, especially near the end. But the last minute or two of the movie brings it all together and I was floored. Plus, Jennifer and the house are both gorgeous.
My anxiety got the best of me during this movie. I had to leave the theater, I couldn’t stay there I felt like I couldn’t breathe in that one scene where all those people break in and start breaking shit.
I appreciate you admitted you were affected and at times confused by Mother!, Chris. Too many critics act as though they are the smartest guys in the room and everybody else is a moron. I also appreciate you avoided any spoilers. Have you seen Aranowsky's "Requiem For A Dream?" It's great, but I have to let years pass before I can watch it again.
This is a modern day Rosemary's baby. I loved it. It is a masterpiece just like The Fanatic with John Travolta. I like crazy movies. I bought both of these films from Family Video when they were closing.
i finally watched this film 4 years after it came out. honestly even though 2017 is not that long ago, in a way i feel this film was a bit ahead of it’s time. the views majority of ppl had around that time to now is in a way different from what i’ve noticed throughout the years along with my own views changing overtime as i grow. i think it’s a really intense commentary on us as a humanity (and how we treat women and feminine figures in our world) and it’s crazy to watch after all the things that have happened recently especially since 2020. it really says sm that can mean so much especially different meanings to everyone who watches. very interesting and disturbing but really makes you think and starts a conversation. i thought this film was much better than i expected and was (obviously) very layered and a lot to take in. just like how hereditary is for me i think it would be too much for me to handle for a second watch LOL
We've arranged our entire society around protecting women and providing for them, so I don't know what "how we treat feminine figures in our world" even refers to.
@@llywelyngruffydd8474 if that was true i would feel safe walking by myself at night . they’res no benefit to being a woman or someone who presents feminine in public settings bc we’re instant targets for so many bad ppl in this world. & what i mean by feminine figures is that there’s ppl who are non binary or do not identify as a woman who still present themselves feminine, they are still targets just for being/looking feminine. and sometimes ppl shit on other ppl for ‘too much’ femininity. they’res many layers to it , especially from personal & second hand experience
@@squishspam Go look at violent crime stats. Women are literally the safest demographic of human beings that exist. Western white women today are the second safest group of humans that have ever existed in the history of our species. Only E. Asian women are less likely to be murdered. Men by contrast are something like 4x as likely to be murdered by a stranger. So you're fretting about the safety of the single safest group of people. The reason you feel unsafe is because you have socially reinforced prejudices against the other half of the species. It's the same reason Korean store owners follow black people around stores.
@@llywelyngruffydd8474 but also there’s a huge chunk of women of color who fall under victim due to violent crimes, (even murder) majority of them caused by men . no one is exaggerating about the real bad shit that happens , i remember this one time my best friend and i walked to starbucks that was across the street from my place and when we were on our way back , this guy who was waiting at the bus stop started following us , i tried not to think anything of it but it didn’t feel right at all . i even stopped for a moment to take a pic of some funny graffiti on the side of my apartment building , but then we noticed he was getting closer so we hurried into my building and went up the elevator. i have a balcony so we looked over on the ‘sidewalk’ that leads to my building that we were all on and he was gone . we knew for sure he wasn’t a resident bc he never attempted to get into the lobby after we made it in . this all happened in broad daylight on an average busy day . my point in bringing that experience up is that even little things like that are horrifying bc we don’t know what his intentions were and how scary shit can happen at anytime and i genuinely don’t think he would have followed us if both of us were men . women & ppl who look / present feminine (at times) are not protected . if u get this worked up over someone sharing their interpretation of film , idk how u have a social life LOL
This movie made me connect with her that I actually caught myself getting upset at the uninvited guests in the movie. I don't think a movie had ever done that for me.
Art, does that. Affected me too
It's great to see a big name director and actors take such a risk to create such an engaging and intelligent and creative film.
I had the exact same reactions as her (until she got beaten) but yeah I felt like I was basically her.
Macktastic7 me too

It should have been called sorry we’re busy our neighbors live over there go ask them lmao

Spoilers for a three-year-old movie
The entire movie is the Bible.
Which part is the flood of noah
@@follymalware5488 Mother tells people to get off of the counter and, when they don't, it breaks causing water to spray everywhere. This is the moment when she snaps and banishes everyone from the house. This alone would've been enough but the symbolism is pushed further when it starts pouring rain outside immediately after.
Also, The followers eating the body of christ
This is why I will never be a christian, pure insanity. Well that's just my opinion.
@@una877 ugh if that were true I would be fighting with you but it simply is not.

Seriously? I thought it was a masterpiece that I couldn't stop watching. I think I saw it about 6-7 times in the 2 months after I first saw it.
This movie attempts to answer the question, "Why doesn't God interfere with humanity's suffering?" This movie deserves a broader discussion. I can't stop thinking about it. Very impactful!
Simplee Tarot I have yet to see the movie, but, *why* doesn't He interfere?
Hurry Calls It's more impactful when you see it, but in the movie, He is narcissistic and more interested in admiration and others worshiping him like a celebrity than actually helping anyone. His written word (Bible) is all the help he provides. Seeing it this way, there's no doubt why so many critics were offended.
I think the movie is a reflection of ourself and the role we play on this earth, and so many people may look at that reflection and not like what they see. It's deep.
Simplee Tarot ah! Interesting! I would love to give this a watch.
Hurry Calls Yea. You definitely should. It's so much better when you experience it yourself. I saw it twice already.
Simplee Tarot If that is the case, the writer(s) of the film have no understanding of who God (of the Bible) is.
This was Jennifer’s best performance. So very sad the movie didn’t get no recognition, so underrated. A complete masterpiece.
Exactly
I honestly wasn't expecting the performance she gave. There were a few points where I had to remind myself it was Lawrence who was playing this character, and not a different actress.
she shouldve gotten her 2nd oscar for this
@Dat Pill yeah thts not a good thing tho, is it?
@@hdhdhedhdh986 Razzies are considered to be the ceremony to celebrate bad films in Hollywood that year.
"This film is about....."
Yeah, I think we all felt like that after watching it
yup
Really? I honestly don't see how anyone raised in the Western world wouldn't immediately see it's a Biblical allegory. The home is Eden, brother kills brother, they all get kicked out, and later, the crowd kills the son of god and eats his flesh and blood, all while fighting amongst themselves.
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks
There's definitely that aspect that the writer pulls from.
Jallek allegory for allegory's sake isnt enough, there really isnt much else in this movie
Because people have realized the hypocrisy behind religion, the selfishness of humanity, and the lack of awareness concerning our planet.
You all need Jesus because this world is filled with unimaginable evil and you guys will be brainwashed to believe it's not by the people you admire on tv. Pretty sure the writer in this film is part of it all. Look up Isaac Kappy, he called the celebs out. He died days later.
Majority of watchers are just plain stupid
@@fredriksvard2603 I agree. I got the allegory and I still thought it was dumb. It’s like, “yeah, obviously.”. Navel gazing
I saw another video where it explains everything:
The main character represents God, Jennifer Lawrence- Earth.
Jennifer Lawrence has a baby (Jesus) and we know the story... he gets killed by the same people who supposedly where looking for God and so on...
girl, even tho a movie has an allegory theres so much trama and story that makes the original allegory a diminute piece of the movie
This is one interpretation. Other interpretation is the baby is earth's environment etc.
More like the house is earth and Jennifer Lawrence is mother of earth .

SPOILERS
The movie tells the story of the bible and everything fits into place. "For God so loved the world he gave them his only begotten son"
did you watch the double toasted review?
Whoa! I love that interpretation!
Yeah yeah, but then how do you explain the ending? God just cycles through creation over and over again for some reason?
Lucas Freeman short answer: yes. If we all died off from nuclear war or an asteroid, etc. some other creature would develop sentience.
Jennifer Lawrence acts best when she is crying.
She is a crybaby so that makes sense...
Milmiskew she acts best .
Well if you weren't staring at your phone all day, you might realise just how talented she really is!
Milmiskew or getting penetrated
Who are you talking to? I don't own a phone. Not even an Obama phone. I agree, JL is talented. Her best attribute is her intelligence and sense of wonder. But I've seen her in a number of films and the frame she operates in is not expanding. Plus she when you blame Trump for all the trouble in the world you care less about your craft and more about your public voice. My own jury is still out: does she have THE CHOPS to last..? I don't know. I'm sad too she has a face full of Botox. She's only 27... these things have me questioning her dedication to acting. Seems more interested to be an activist and not an actor.
I thought this was an absolute masterpiece. The struggle mother earth faces in the hands of man and what happens when God isnt present, loved it
Gemma Hamilton God let it happen..he didn’t care as long as all the love and attention was on him
Textbook narcissist..
The director is an atheist...he wasn't trying to say that the world needed God. The believers are the ones who ruin everything.
I hate you Gemma. You know nothing about film. This movie sucks

Amanda Reynolds-Gregg this movie was the worst film I've ever seen
Do not watch it
Red Star Truly awful
Red Star Explain why then
The last 40 minutes were GARBAGE.
SPOILERS
Some biblical references?
I would be interested in watching this movie "Analyzed and Explained" by you.
ty, now i'm super-interested.i want to go as a non-spoilt virgin so I'm being very careful what i read re the film right now..thanks again for telling me that though because that has a special interest to myself ... et carter
Spencer Nielsen fuck the bible
Spencer Nielsen Wow, I just saw it thinking WTF if I'm honest! Lol. Fascinating reading what others see I didn't, not once did religion pop in my head! I was thinking "I'm totally lost as to why all these ppl are behaving so terribly and why they are there at all!"? Why doesn't he tell em to fuk off etc. As soon as the credits rolled I came to see an explanation of what I've saw
Spencer Nielsen I already knew it had something to do with god Blah blah blah blah
Bryce fuck the bible fuck religion fuck churches fuck god simple
I think this movie did a great job of getting across its story. It's a movie about the history of man as they slowly take and destroy the planet, using the entire Bible as a story structure for the life of man from the first man to the end of Earth.
Uh... Genesis is just the first part of the Bible.
+YumLemmingKebabs Ya, but the movie follows the bible past Noah's arc and into the New Testament. They even have the death of Jesus in it
Knuck Truck Noah wasn't directly mentioned but the sink was the flood; everybody left.lol
Ya, that's what I meant. Whatever the title of that story is with the flood.
i know that arronsky has kinda confirmed that religion is the main idea of this movie. but i thought when i walked out of this movie. it was about creativity and celebrity worship and how society can take creative work and impose them self's on it to an unhealthy degree. like when one character says "his words are your words". or them taking a baby ie (someone's creative work) and consuming it. basically to the point of infatuation and destroying someones personal life (the home). or form the more literal view point, the side of the mother. having a kid and the fears of the outside world corrupting your child. like looting, rioting, war, and everything else on display in the house at he end of the film. but then only to find out, that this was only some kinda visual allegory of genesis is somewhat disappointing.
Can't believe Jennifer Lawrence got a razzie nomination for her performance. She was so good. Showed a constant internal suffering and really powerful breakdown.
Her performance was amazing! she definitely didn’t deserve a razzie nomination.
It was more because the movie is so purposefully disturbing and tryhard. It's also biased and terribly written that no matter how good her preformance is, the movie was pretty shit. And it has an effect on everyones preformance.
So it's a sequel to Monster House, I dig it
Space Duck haha!!
I was thinking this the whole way through 😂😂
It felt like monster house to me lol
Aronofsky knows how to amp up tension through out a film to the point where you feel like your heart is going to explode. Requiem did that, and so does this film.
GMAN's Movie Zone definitely, rewatched requiem yesterday and so many similar techniques used, such a great filmmaker!
Was waiting for this one Chris!

Its a Brilliant Twisted Allegorical Masterpiece. But unfortunately mainstream audiences are not ready for this film, and im sure the misleading marketing campaign doesn't help.
Connor Bonelli "mainstream audiences"... all of you are munching this crap with pleasure
Sonia Daft please elaborate
Sonia Daft you couldn't be more wrong. The audience score on RT is 41% obviously its not appeasing to the mainstream.
Chris' comment section is full of the most unfunniest people on TH-cam.

ShinobiNintendo The worst part is that all those people that want to boycott this due to Jennifer Lawrence's participation receive upvotes.
ShinobiNintendo RLM videos have the same problem. Makes me feel bad for Chris and RLM to be honest, lol
"He grew up with zod's snapped neck lolololol"
I commented this on his last video but it's relevant here so I'll re-post:
This comment section has been a chaotic meme farm for a long time, mostly because Chris has no presence here.

Just rented this movie last night and was totally blown away. I did not understand it at all until I read some analysis and now I feel dumb for not figuring it out myself. I gotta say it really is an amazing film albeit very disturbing
Chris! Review Requiem For A Dream by Darren Arronofsky . Jared Leto is incredible in that.
Dariush Asadi That is one of the most disturbing movies I have ever seen. But it's super good.
Jordan Cadwell so so sad in the end. not something I'd see again tbh
Dariush Asadi He should review all of Aronofsky's work, especially The Wrestler, Requiem and Black Swan
Dariush Asadi movie you can only watch once
I wish i would have seen this in theaters
There's a very good reason for the close ups of Jennifer and the circular camera work. She represents Earth at the beginning , beautiful innocent and unspoilt. There was nothing in the beginning other than Mother nature/earth so the focus was intentional.
And it's his girlfriend.
s askew and also, it is supposed to be claustrophobic and show us hiw she feels having to work all the time and being ignored by the God who only cares about his book.
It's the Bible. The movie is the Bible.
Will we be getting a Bible 2?
Yes, with that other actress that appears waking up at the end.
Walter White
This...
word
Walter White but the art is not the artist... I get that I might be hard to hear your work torn apart by someone but that's life. Not everyone is going to like your work or you. People shouldn't skirt around their feelings and viewpoints on a piece of art just to spare the artists feelings (being mean just for the sake of it is another story).
People must learn that there's a difference between the art and the artist. One should be able to critic art without worry about the artists feelings.
Walter White That theory fails to account for all of the biblical allegories though
I respect your interpretation but Aranofsky has come out and stated that this movie is a biblical allegory.
Have you tried to watch David Lynch's movies?? I have nightmares after watching some of them.
Oooh, and It Follows felt like that...
Probably only took him five days 'cause he pretty much just had to rewrite the bible
wännscho dännscho ahah good one
Man f×ck opinions the movie was great and that's fact. You have great taste in movies so be proud.
Connor Morley unique is a ambiguous word that says nothing about your opinoin it's the same as saying interesting
I feel like the extensive use of closeup could be alluding to the fact that people always seem to be on top of everything that celebrities are doing. This would add to the theory of looking at the film as a comment on celebrity culture.
yes yes yes yes
Because we are😂
In Conclusion, God is an asshole. I see why Atheists are Atheists.
Now we wait for the sequel, father!
nah. The sequel would be 'fucker!'
Sam 454 how about 'Trumper'?
Maybe: FATHER?
Daughter
Sandra Hansson
Well _obviously_ but what do we call the prequel?
It could also be interpreted as Greek mythology.
Ya know, Zeus, Hera, Prometheus and so on.
I can also see the husband being either god or the devil or Joseph . The mother being an extension of earth/nature or Mary.
Doctor Oswald Well, their son killed his brother. If I remember correctly, Kain and Abel were the offspring of Adam and Eve, so there's a direct correlation.
Not sure if there's a mirror story to that in Greek mythology though, to be fair.
Eidlones yeah I know I just thought that Aronofsky would want people to have loads and loads of interpretations.
Doctor Oswald Fair enough
When Ed Harris was vomiting in the toilet The poet covered a wound on his rib cage and next day Michelle Pfeiffer shows up.
claudevi1 maybe she Lilith and mother and him are Adam and Eve, Lilith is from the Jewish version of the Christian version of that story so yeah rambling
Yes!
Crispman 777 Honestly, as someone who doesn't care about spoilers ususally. Just watch this one. Its insane.
Alec Mitchell a baby is eaten alive.
I saw this yesterday, aside from the metaphors this was an insane rollercoaster and I had a fucking blast, so intense and brutal yet so entertaining.
You basically described a David Lynch work, yet you never ever ever talk about David Lynch material.
📢 Shame
Bradley J. Timm If he could do a DL series, I would jump for joy. Just imagine how a review for Eraserhead and Twin Peaks: The Return would play out.

I just watched it again and had a panic attack when watching the insane final scene lol. I loved Jennifer’s performance, I felt for her character so strongly, and I liked how bold it was. Don’t think it was pretentious at all, especially now in 2020’s climate.
I bet Chris grew up with a mother.
Probably a poor one, a maid for a black middle-class family.
Rene Reyes As should any child?
Diego Ruiz middle class families don't have maids
Diego Ruiz was he born a poor black child?
Your mother grew up with a mother
I think it’s only Mother and Hereditary that have had me still thinking about them more than a year later. Both are brilliant, but as a formerly active member of the baptist church, I think Mother is one of the best films I’ve ever seen. It’s commentary (as I’ve interpreted it) on the state of the world and the churches role in getting us to this point is nearly perfect. I get why this movie is so divisive, but that’s exactly why it has the lasting impact in my mind that it does. I’ll see anything this director puts out.
If a reviewer gives this movie an unfairly bad review, can we call them a mother...nevermind.
Bruce LeeRoy what about an unfairly good one?
Wow, didn't expect it to be good.
Why are you one of those people that jumped on the Lawrence hate bandwagon?
You didn't expect a Darren Aronofsky film to be good? The fuck.
floopy goober it's just like because of Noe. But then again, that movie was a blockbuster and Mother it's like other A. movies.
Shame on you.
Why???? From the director of Black Swan WHy NOT? With great actors like Javier Bardem and Jennifer Lawrence why not??? Are you one of thsoe basic fanboys that fall into the hype and then fall out and hate?
Wasn't this a rick and morty episode?
Brendan O'Brien Yes
What episode was it???????
FucKaleb "Total Rickall" It's similar in that uninvited guests begin to fill the house
yea but those were parasites and were in your memory, this movie was a lot different and had a different meaning
I thought Lawrences character was mother nature, and the house was Earth.
Yes this make more sense
It actually is like that
From the script notes I've read your interpretations are correct. Also the first house and mother can be looked at as the old testimate time line. The current house and mother take place in the presence of the new testimate God. Loved the film thought Jennifer Lawrence's performance added a very needed gravity that brings out the viewers emotions
If its amazing as Black Swan, I'm good.
it’s not so you’re not good
Harry Parsons so you are basically saying you watched Black Swan because of two girls going down on each other?
Do you know how stupid this sounds?
you clearly missed the movie then
Apples and Oranges.
Harry Parsons You're an idiot.
What parts of it aren't an allegory for human history as told in The Bible with an anthropomorphic Mother Nature?
YumLemmingKebabs it's kind of weird then that she calls the cops.
Lawrence got so famous that she has groups of people hating on her in every video that mentions her name, boycotting her films, calling her a "terrible human being" and not one of these people can give actual reasons as to why. Impressive!
because she has opinions and people are sensitive now these days.
People are hating on her for some very stupid reason right now. I mean this time she's not at fault at all.
Alex killzu learn to spell
Sean Morrow you know you have no argument whatsoever when all you have is some spellcheck shit
because people that's why

Actually, it is a prequel to the game Earthbound for the Super Nintendo.
This movie is a masterpiece
This movie made me SO uncomfortable
It was epic
My anxiety got the best of me during this movie. I had to leave the theater, I couldn’t stay there I felt like I couldn’t breathe in that one scene where all those people break in and start breaking shit.
It’s a metaphor for the book of Genesis.
I cant handle when Jennifer is crying it just hits me emotionally
