06:10 you can go wrong. Sure it’s got a couple of 50st troopers in, but the market is oversaturated with 501st troopers these days. The grogu is exactly the same as in pretty much every other set. Sure it’s got the Jedi minifigure (I can’t remember the character name he was so insignificant) but it’s not that desirable. 50% sounds like a good deal but these have been marked down to just £9 in my local B&M store and not selling many and they don’t got for much more than what you paid for on eBay. 🤷🤣
@@arghjayem All of your points are exactly why this set wasn’t on my radar to start with. I’ve only grabbed the 4. I think it’ll be a longer hold time, not expecting anything spectacular from this set at all.
fellow uk investor here, nice deal you got on those brick heads at the start, think they will be retiring and will make at least 100% roi after fees and postage well done, only thing I would say is I tend to not buy any sets the first few months of the year mainly due to the reason of retirement dates, obviously if I see a set I'm interested in at 40+% off I will take a plunge. keen to see your opinion on this!
Hello 👋🏻 The Encanto sets did in fact retire. On Lego.com they’re marked not only as ‘out of stock’ but ‘sold out.’ I currently sell on eBay meaning zero fees here 🇬🇧👌🏼 also I normally charge buyers for P&P. That said, it’s not worth listing these yet. It’s important to look for great discounts throughout the year. If you’re looking for a particular set to invest in, it’s not guaranteed the set will be reduced in Q4. The Typewriter was a prime example of this. Of course ideally we’d get all of our sets in Q4 to reduce our hold time. Depends on how much space you have to spare.
@@justchilling9442 There’s so many sets I missed out on and would be happy to pay a premium for, for the opportunity to have the experience of getting those sets brand new years down the line. Lego investing keeps those retired sets alive. I always buy from Lego within my buy limits, the amount Lego will allow me to purchase as they clear lines of retiring sets to make way for new sets 👌🏼
Hi mate, really enjoying your videos! Just wondering what’s the best way to catch good deals? If you’re after certain sets is there a good way to know when you can get them cheaply?
@@JamieRawlingsMusic Hi, really glad you’re enjoying the channel 👌🏼 last year I did it the good old fashion way. I have various websites saved on my homepage that I’d scan on a daily basis. Towards the end of last year, a colleague made me aware of an app called hotukdeals. Are you based in the UK? If so you need this app. Members post on a daily basis when they find deals. It’s the best way to identify great deals with minimal effort on a daily basis.
@The_Brick_Sidesorry another thing - how do you know when a set is retiring? For example I’ve found 76290 for £22.50 and brickeconomy thinks it might retire end of this year, is there anyway to know? And do you ever buy off eBay to keep? I’m used to Amazon fba (I run an account) where invoices are super important so I can’t used eBay, but for LEGO investing I’m assuming it’s okay?
@ So there’s a few retirement lists. Search for ‘Brick Fanatics retiring sets in 2025.’ Then there’s the Brick Tap list too. Neither are 100% accurate, but pretty close. Sets will fall off the list throughout the year and sets will be added. It gets a lot more accurate as we get to the end of Q3. I’m not at the dreaded stage of a tax return just yet as I’m only really starting to sell some sets from 2023 now. I’ve only bought 1 set from eBay as a long term investment. I keep a spread sheet of everything detailing set quantity, RRP, what I paid for it etc.
@The_Brick_Sideokay great. I’m going the same with a spreadsheet, makes life a lot easier. So theoretically there’s nothing wrong with buying brand new sets off eBay?
@@Bricks-30 😂 Certainly not in January, it’s far too early for big sets that could drop off the retirement list. Space is currently an issue meaning I’ll need to sell some big sets before I can grab anymore big uns.

Great deal on the Star Wars sets.
@@danblackonleadership They were in 1 of my 2 local stores. Anything Star Wars at 50% off gets a yes from me with the exception of the 4+ sets.
Another good video. Think it would be better without the thumbnail showing what you bought. Better to unveil as the video goes on
@@secretjedi2938 🙈😂 This was my thought exactly. I tried a few filters on the app I use to create the thumbnails but they just didn’t work.
Awesome buying loads of stock so really lego collectors can't get hold of them at retail price.

@@chunkhunk47 I don’t know about downloadable but we have the BrickFanatics and BrickTap retirement lists of you search for them.
I got some from argos yesterday they have a sticker on them😅
Not the BrickHeadz I’m sure? They’re Lego exclusives
Surprised not to see a £160 bowser is there..? Not a set you're investing in?
