Great video. Big part of this "arrange" tool that folks are looking into, is for nesting and fabrication. I founded out myself that Arrange does not like the tool patterns in MANUFACTURING environment... Once you have your parts laid on 4x8 ready to cut, and you noticed something then need to update the shape / drawing / sizes, you will loose all your tool paths.... Question, am I doing something wrong? I tried couple of times and did not work. (I'm in 2023). So, couple of months ago I was able to do that with NO PROBLEM under the MANUFACTURE MODEL > doing arrange on MANUFACTURING environment . But because now ARRANGE is just allowed on DESIGN environment I loose paths... sucks?
Really love your content and how you articulate and make it easy to understand what you are explaining!! Was wondering if you can make a video of a cam walkthrough with creating a toolpath and comparing and contrasting 2d and 3d contours?
You do a great job on your explanations. Do you have any ideas on how to arrange a component for CNC milling that requires two sided cutting? I need to be able to arrange the components where I can cut one side and then flip the stock and have the parts finished out. One by one is a time killer! I appreciate your help!
@@pdxcnc Thanks for the reply. CNC router cutting HDPE. Parts cut great individually (using fixture and tabs). I just need to figure out how to get the parts symmetrical on the stock so we can flip it ( in the fixture) and have the WPS to end up in the correct place when the machine is zeroed out. Also how to post process for each side to cut the multiple components. Individually I have just been saving each setup and then running it on the machine for each side.
@@AugHog A good method is to drill dowel pins in the stock on two opposing corners and then into your spoilboard so you can align it on flip. If not, make a squared cut on the stock to be able to align with known dimensions on flip
@@pdxcnc Flipping the stock is the easy part. Drawing it where it is symmetrical when it is flipped is the problem I am having, and then setting it up to post process cutting side one and then side two.
After i arranged all my parts on 3 sheets, what is the best way to create 3 separated setups, so that i can manufacure the 3 sheets separately on my cnc?
This is a request I know the Fusion team is trying to streamline - making setups easier. Basically, create a setup then hand select the components or bodies you want in the setup under "model"
So Arrange is a great feature except you cannot duplicate parts. Is there a way around this? Is there anyway to copy and paste? Seems awfully expensive extension.
Have you tried Arrange yet?
Thanks Justin. Turned out really nice. Not sure what went wrong at 8:57. Let's look at it together tomorrow.
My guess is that my geometry has some curvature to it on that face? I designed it so I don't think so but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Justin, just subbed. Love seeing what you guys have going on here and IG. Thanks for making such high-quality videos!
Thanks, Chris, appreciate that.
Thanks for creating this content @justin you do an excellent job explaining it!
🙏 thanks, Al. I appreciate that!
Thank you, I was missing the component step

Hey thanks. What kind of machine are you using? Is it a mill or a CNC router?
Also what material?

Use a pattern and make more before arranging
Wow this might be a weird question but how are you moving around the object so smoothly , titling and gradual movements?
