      Lương dạy ở Việt Nam cao hơn, chi phí ăn ở ở campuchia cao hơn và đắt hơn. Ở thành phố Hồ Chí Minh có nhiều cơ hội việc làm và thăng tiến hơn. Phnom Penh chỉ là một thành phố nhỏ

    @Ninjateacher could you do a video perhaps about older teachers. Maybe people in their 50's+ that have been successful? It seems as though I rarely (prob never) have seen older people as teachers. Also I'd be interested in if these are degreed positions or not. Do you need any college or teachers degrees? Thanks in advance. Love all of your videos

    Interesting that the Bermudan's accent seems closer to American than British. I wonder if that is typical or if he attended school in the US.

    • @doodahgurlie
      @doodahgurlie ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the Jamaican accent was hard to detect and I wonder if it's because he's picked up a more US accent living in Vietnam amongst all the foreigners there.

      I grew up going to an international school in Bermuda. This is why my accent sounds different to most Bermudians. I've never lived in the US.

      @@aiyetoro9094question, another brother from the Caribbean here, did you get any pushback from schools based on your nationality? I tried applying to schools but got told countless times that I couldn't get hired because of my nationality.

    What other jobs are there for foreigners in Vietnam?

    • @ninja.teacher
      @ninja.teacher  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Other types of work can be hard to secure a work permit for because companies have to prove to the government why they need to hire foreigners over locals, so you have to be highly skilled in a field or provide something the country is in need of (like English teaching skills).

      Both, and are great teachers and sports also. Teachers do that in the US. A lot of teachers also love sports.

    I am a bit alarmed as what one of the potential teachers said about the interview process. In fact, the interviewer tells the candidate what the perks of the job are, rather than asking the relevant questions.
    Just because you are a native speaker does not mean that you are able to teach the language.

    • @ninja.teacher
      @ninja.teacher  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      At any reputable school the interviewer will absolutely ask questions to ascertain the candidate’s experience and knowledge of ESL methodology.
