    Loved the show. Some interesting thoughts.
    Well done for 2000 subs.
    Richly deserved. Onwards to 3000 + and the next special.
    Looking forward to hearing about the mysterious new flash option in due course.
    Given how limited photography is never mind the instant Polaroid world not sure if the unknown band members will get to hear their old music by this medium.
    Perhaps …… now that you’re a star ….. you could give it to a TV channel to do a short promo to hunt down the band

    That Leica M5 is remarkably clean. That is such an underrated camera, i'm glad you enjoy yours. If I didn't have my MP, i'd likely pick that up. I find watching your videos nice and entertaining. I disagree with you on some things but, overall great content. Unrelated, bout to send my SLR670s back to mint for their itype upgrade; i'm excited.

      I was very fortunate to pay very very very very litle money for it back in around 2016 or so. I think it cost me $660AUD?

    As a Pentax 17 owner I can say it’s a really good camera for learning how to take pictures on film. The quality is really good and the pictures I see on the Pentax groups are really good! I do hope they will sell a 35mm as I’m in the market for one of them too

    Thank you so much for your dedication in this community! I do have a question that I don’t you’ve covered in depth before, what do you think about the pcb mint offers in their modified sx70s and how are they different from the original? Especially the electric eye because I find they actually look a bit different if you look into the metering window(idk the professional terms)

    • @theinstantcameraguy
      @theinstantcameraguy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the window Mint uses is an IR filter. That's all it is really, a small filter that sits where the original plastic piece did.
      As far as I can figure out, they did this because they forgot about IR filtration when they made their latest PCB, which caused the boards to have unpredictable auto exposure results
      So they added the necessary IR filter and marketed it as an 'upgrade'
      I repaired a client of mine's Mint camera using my own IR filter - however I mounted it internally in the shutter housing, rather than at the front :)

    Hello! Just wanted to warn you that when you do slideshows in your videos, such as the various cameras at 1:19:00, there appears to sometimes be a single frame between slides where you can see your desk. It's fairly jarring to look at but i have an idea what might be causing this, as i ran into a similar problem in the past.
    In my case, my editing software timeline was set to be a round 30 (or 60) frames per second, but the rendering preset i used was set at ntsc 29.97 (or 59.94). The timeline and rendered frames were therefore desynced, so if a picture was meant to disappear after frame 29 and be replaced by another one on frame 30, the software would render a frame after the disappearance of picture 1 but before the appearance of picture 2.
    To fix this, low effort option is to have picture 2 overlap picture 1 in the timeline, but the better options is to go into your software's options and either set your timeline to be 29.97 fps or override the rendering preset to be a round 30.

    • @theinstantcameraguy
      @theinstantcameraguy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      thanks for letting me know about this
      Definitely seems sync related since it doesnt happen on ALL photos, just certain frames.
      certainly didn't happen in the preview either!
      I will have to play around with settings

    Do you know if the polapulse battery gets in the way of any straps that go on the lugs? I use those a lot and I'm curious if the batttery prevents them from being used.

    Thanks for this!
    I have a quick question. After getting an SX-70 converted to 600, would you still use the light/dark compensation wheel the same way you would in a regular SX-70?

    • @theinstantcameraguy
      @theinstantcameraguy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yup, should work exactly the same!
      Photos should come out properly exposed in neutral, with compensation needed only in tricky lighting

    You mentioned '600 conversion or nothing '. But wouldn't using 600 speed film be optimal in a non-converted camera for nighttime flash-free photography ? Especially after you recently mentioned making the aperture wide open permanently?
