Holy moly! Thank you. Finally! Somebody does a lesson on this amazing solo. Very underrated -this is one of David Gilmore‘s finest solos, Albeit short. So powerful and filled with emotion on the album “The Final Cut“. Please do more amazing Gilmore solos but not the usual ones. How about “poles apart? “ Or the stunning masterpiece “great day for freedom “ solo. Thank you for this thank you I’ve been waiting years for somebody to do a good lesson on this amazing solo. I’ve probably listened to this song 5000 times in the last 10 years But I’m a relatively new guitarist only four years so it’s really hard to me to learn something by ear. More Gilmore please please please more How about the stunning solo on the song “your possible pasts”. How about something from the album obscured by clouds? Like “Free four” or “Mud Men” or “ childhoods end“ Thank you for any Gilmore. He’s my favorite guitarist in the world by far….. there’s so many amazing solos out there. That are NOT comfortably numb
Very nice! I rate this as one of Gilmour's best. Short but sweet. I've seen various tab and slight variations, but this sounds just right. I still find it a bit of a fingertip destroyer, especially those 2nd fret bends!
Glimour month was April for you, but it's going to July for me. I have some alone time coming then, and fully plan to take advantage of it by immersing myself fully in all of these videos. I plan to come out a better player for it, in August!!
Hey KDA, I was curious about the guitar used in this video. I noticed its the one used in the PIGs solo cover and I am curious about the pickups on it. Also, would you ever consider making a video showcasing the different guitars you own and use for the videos. You clearly have a massively sweet guitar line up and I would really like to cultivate the sound you've attained on certain stratocasters you play. In case you haven't guessed, I find myself gravitating towards David Gilmour arrangements and solos. I just picked up a new American Ultra Strat and I would really like to get it as close to a Gilmour setup as possible. Any advice, tips or insights into what it takes to achieve this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
This is great - thanks for posting! How do you get that Gilmour guitar sound? Amp settings? Using a RAT or Big Muff? Sounds so crisp and on point with Gilmour. Bravo
I use software. Bias FX2 to be exact. I try my best to match up the same gear that Gilmour used within it. The website Gilmourish is an amazing repository of all things Gilmour. You can pretty much find, track by track, what effects, guitars and amps were used for ever solo of his.
@@Detoxicated11 I hear that the focus-right Scarlett is good. In all honesty, I use a cheap Beringer and it works and sounds just fine. I've compared both and there's no difference, so I went cheaper. The body difference is metal vs plastic body.
@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar Thanks again. The Scarlett came up several times and is a decent price - I appreciate the reply as always! Keep rocking and thanks again for taking time to help spread music to the world. Only thing that goes straight to the soul and your lesson helps manifest that in perpetuity!

More lessons on Gilmour...you teach them well my friend
One of the heaviest pinch harmonics in the history of Rock. I wish I can do that one day
Awsome
