Their is a movement to restore the1218 herrestoration was doing done at the old Southern shops in Irondale, AL. When she was moved to Roanoke her flus were move d up in a box car. Their isn't a whole lot that needs To be done to get here running again!
@@zacharycalgher3978 there’s a chance for them to run again now all that’s needed is the right buyer enthusiast or a private owner or even a Heritage society. Norfolk Southern needs a board and president that actually understands the value of these engines to run them or they need to be given to the mid west America society in Silvis
Delighted Thanks 🎉❤ 🎉❤
Too bad we won't see her restored again.

Locations?
there's number 1218 the star of the N&W.
Well.......one of them, I would say. (*cough cough* N&W 611 and 475 *cough cough*)
@@regularguy7266 i wish 611 is back in Roanoke and 1218 steamed again .
Norfolk & Western Class A 1218 (in my own personal opinion) is nothing compared to Union Pacific Challenger 3985.
And the same opinion could also be said that Norfolk & Western Class Y 2156 is nothing compared to Union Pacific Big Boy 4014
Almost everyone knows about that. But don’t forget that 1218 and 2156 were tough cargo haulers. But they were definitely splendid sites
@@aaron-prime117 true, but it’s really sad for 1218 and 2156 not running again.

UP steam sucks. The class A and the Y blow both of those engines out the water
