@@PANCHO15108- I don’t feel bad at all in 2015 when Daniel Murphy ended the dodgers season with Kershaw and Greinke pitching 3x in 5 games…..Mets fans were insufferable to us. I do not forget. This clinch was more satisfying to me than beating the Padres
Not a Mets fan and can be a Mets hater at times, but I’m genuinely happy for them. They were fun to watch this season, and after years of disappointment and 'Mets-ing' things up, they truly deserve this.
Agreed. They have good future ahead of them even with the uncertainty of some players. Vientos is that dude and I loved watching their buzzsaw run to the NLCS. Nothing but massive respect
Trevor made that mistake in both shows today and neither cohost caught it. That's crazy. It was the scandal year too like cmon guys. Are they ignoring 2017 on purpose or something?
The health of Graterol and Vesia is going to be huge. That’s the Dodgers best left-handed reliever and right handed reliever that could be returning. It makes their bullpen games a lot scarier
It doesn’t need to be a competition. I’m a Yankees fan, and yes, Scully is the greatest to ever do it. I think many Yankees fans would acknowledge that too if they know ball. Can appreciate both though
I'll always have respect for John Sterling. Second favorite radio announcer next to the GOAT, Vin Scully, RIP. Also, mad respect to Jolly, Rose, and Fuzzy (shoutout to him). The Mets and Guardians fought for every game and showed they belonged there and you should have some happiness in those teams, bittersweet as it may be.
Big props to Jolly. He and some of the other Mets based podcasts and shows helped me become a Mets Fan. Thanks for a great Series. This is going to be a Series for the ages.
Dodgers fan here. I love listening to John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman’s game brodcasts. I love their old school takes, even though I am an analytics guy. Even though I decidedly do NOT like the Yanks, these two are an all-time great broadcast team!
Really liked what Jolly had to say about the bummer ending to a unique season for the Mets and how the new ownership has made improvements on the team. All that said, as an Oakland A’s fan I would give anything to have those sort of problems. I miss worrying about on the field problems. Really gonna miss the A’s, just so unfortunate
Jolly, you are the real one, my dude. The day after the Mets lost the Series to the Yankees, I went to work in my Mets gear and caught shit the entire day. You've been out here for weeks with your heart on your sleeve in front of the cameras. Your legitimacy is written in stone.
Since you both think it was a good to Great pitch, that's exactly why Soto knew that pitch was coming. You have to meet him there if an at bat lasts that long and they start trying to out think him just to even play with him. It's the most incredible display of hitting all wrapped into one at bat. For its chess match its ability and more important for the moment.
Can’t Say enough about the quality and character of judge and ohtani. In a time where there is so much grab and greed, pure athletes and the love of the game is so important. As a physical ed teacher sports are a vehicle to teach respect for your body. And through that they learn to respect other things
Man, if the Yankees win, does Juan Soto's contract go for $500 million, or $600 million? The turnaround for them in the playoffs with him on the roster is nuts.
How did trev forget about the 2017 WS with the cheating astros and I believe they cheated the Yankees too so that should have been yankees and dodgers WS
With how injury laden this Dodger team is, it does add a bit more to how impressive their run is. Throughout the season it was gut punch after gut punch losing pitchers left and right. Losing Muncy and Mookie early in the season, having to stomach Amhed and Biggio, having Lux's slow start. And then in the penultimate series (I know someone likes that word) having Freddie injure his ankle. We know the talent is there, but it's very easy to see all the impact pitchers on the IL and be like "well, it's just not our year." Go down 1-2 to a very talented and heavily favorited Padres team only to resoundingly respond with back to back shutouts to take the NLDS. Very resilient, very relentless team this year. Personally, I don't feel like the Yankees were as tested in this post season, and not really even in their regular season with how the Orioles fell off a cliff at the end. I didn't feel like any team was remotely close to being better than the Yankees on the AL side this year. The Mets were tested, the Dodgers were tested. Curious to see if it matters.
wish we got a much more in-depth discussion about the dodgers winning the NLCS like y’all did for the yanks and the ALCS. there was so much to actually talk about! honeywell throwing 4 2/3 in game 5 to save the pen 6. treinen throwing 2 innings in game 6 bc the dodgers didn’t have anyone left!! the most he’s thrown in 2 years. but- guess not!
I have a Chris Rose type question for you. So many great players have played their entire careers and never win a ring. With Ohtani and Judge having a shot to cement their legacy, Only 1 or both will win a World Series at the end of their career? And which player is it more important for them to get their ring this year?
Manaea isn’t that good. He’s a gimmick pitcher who throws with a weird angle. Good hitters figure this out after a few times. He’s like Sale but the difference is Sale has great stuff. If the Mets throw crazy money at him they are dumb.
4:38 Trev, you have to be better than this. You already made this embarrassing mistake on Talkin' Baseball. The Dodgers were in the World Series in 2017. That's literally an extremely well-known World Series within recent memory. How do you screw up something this basic twice immediately after the NLCS? I love your shows, but *come on.*
idk why y'all act so sure that soto is gonna sign for the mets on the off season just because the owner. I mean... judge got offered more money from another team and still chose to be a yankee. i know the yankees are gonna have to spend a lot to get him but it's not impossible also who's to say that cohen is gonna go all out again in the free agent signings when that didn't work out in 2022?
Dodgers weren’t able to re-sign Seager either and didn’t get anything but a comp pick for him. Also, Mets and Yankees aren’t exactly poor, and SD has been spending tons of money too, they had Soto too after all
i cant see the yankees winning this. the dodgers aren't gonna play like terrified school children the way the guardians did, dropping pop-ups, missing flips from your 2B, multiple passed balls in an inning, etc. the yankees can do damage with their big bats when a pitcher can't hit their spot, but that's it. I take the LA Dodgers over the funeral procession that is the NY Yankees. they at least seem like they're having fun
I do believe the Dodgers are the favorite. But do you really see their pitching dominating Soto, Judge, Stanton the way they’re playing right now? I mean Judges is in a “slump” and still hit 2 bombs in that series. Also, the Yankees have the best starter in the series in Cole.
Trevor trying to put a spin on the Mets season and offseason and calling it "fun" while Jolly is on the other end having to listen is kinda brutal haha.
@@dcsoda1 I was talking more so about what the Mets offseason is going to be like. Trevor's going it's gonna be fun more than scary for the Mets offseason. That front office gonna be working for that paycheck for sure.

As a neutral fan I didn't think either series was anything to write home about. Like you both mentioned (Jolly more so than Trev) you could see a bit of talent difference between the two teams. LA's pitching held up well which is really the only concern they have and the Mets didn't embarrass themselves. The ALCS was certainly uglier and more eventful. I feel for Cleveland as the team had been so consistently good all year and had a great ALDS but they pooped the bed massively in the ALCS, they played like and looked like the 2024 White Sox. The Yankees big 3 hitters carried the team and played like stars. The rest of the team did nothing well, the pitching was at best mediocre, the defense was bad (just not as bad as Cleveland's) and their base-running was awful.
