Very thoughtful insights, Ben. I was reading about Epstein’s theory of Photogénie earlier today…making the real unreal…removing the narrative and focusing on the moments, vibes, and emotions. Herzog does this with documentary work in a way that can’t easily be duplicated. He’s such a singular voice.
Right? I think what matters is standing in the place that makes the most sense to you, and in the place you believe in, and looking from that perspective - and that's where that voice comes from.
