TheBuggerbutt08 I wasn't talking specifically about the phones abilities, I was saying that LG could think more about what this phone can do. I own one of these and i never take it with me to situations where it might get wet or take damage alot. but it's still a nice phone :)

Nice video, did not expect this type of test to work on either LG phone. Really impressed coming from a Sony user
but the phone was fully functional after it was dry in 30hrs of rice. still pretty good. i traded in my note 5 for the lgv10 and so far i love it. i actually turned in my note 5 e times in cus malfuncion.

I dropped my LG V10 in water. I dried it in rice too, and it's ALMOST fully functional. I have no external speaker functionality anymore which is supremely irritating. No ring tone, no alarm clock, can't put call on speaker, can't watch any videos without headphones.
I owned an LG V10 for about a year. I dropped it a fountain, submerged in water for a full 10 seconds and tried to unlock it with the fingerprint scanner. I then took the battery and sim out and let it dry in rice for 24 hours. The fingerprint scanner stopped working for a while, but I put it in rice for another 24 hours and the phone worked fine afterwards. Only months later did it suffer from "boot loop" and stopped working completely (its supposedly a factory issue, not having anything to do with water damage). However, since I dropped it in water, the warranty was void. The little white square behind the battery will turn pink when in contact with too much water. This phone was more trouble than it should have been. But for any phone, just dry it out as soon as possible and hope for the best.
I would trade my S6 for this phone in a heartbeat.

+David Sears I did switch from the s6 to the v10...and i couldnt be happier i am definitely happy with my decision.
Hows the battery life compared to s6.. One of my main reasons for leaving S6 is battery life.
You have to keep in mind the screen is a whole lot bigger then the s6 and the included second screen doesn't really help. With that being said my phone typically last me all day, but the battery life is not better than the s6
My S6 never lasts me 1 whole day man. I never use 3G. Only wifi. and im not a heavy user too. But still get 8 - 10 hours of battery life out of my S6 :\

Too bad! LG did so much better in every other aspect with this phone, they didn't think of the water-resistance though. Just hoping I won't drop my phone into water LOL

Thanks for this video. Little documentation about V10 water-resistence except that "MIL810" spec/standard thing which is very difficult to understand.
I'm so used to all your water texts going well Harris, I was like Noooooooo! Lol. Lucky the rice worked, my friend managed to save this iPhone 6 the same way a few weeks ago ;)
I was cleaning the ceiling over a tub full of water and forgot I had my v10 in my pocket it fell about 5ft into a tub of water. Completely submerged for about 3 seconds. wiped it off. took the battery cover off and barley any water leakage. The speakers had to dry out, it didn't take long though. I even have a huge crack in the screen from previous drop and no water went in it. I was lucky this time lol. But thats what I get for going from a s6 active to v10.

at least the g5 can survive for 2 minutes submerged in the water with no case and it will still powerup and everything works thats why im getting a g5

I just upgraded from the G2 to the V10 and let's just say that I am definitely not used to having a phone that is this sensitive to water/easily damaged :-/ I've had the phone for three weeks, it was exposed to 1/8 inch of water (max) in the bottom of my hand bag and went completely kaput ...the phone is currently submerged in rice so hopefully my end result is as good as yours. I've never had this issue before so I did try to turn it on a few times after the water contact, which I'm now reading is a no-no. Really wishing I had just gone with the G4 tbh...

+kim Taylor No luck. I'm $200+ deep at an electronics repair shop. Still not totally fixed because they're waiting to receive an LCD replacement, which is being shipped from China. Maybe if I had immediately removed the battery and not even tried to turn it on for 48+ hours, it would've been okay but my outcome was no where near this good. My advice is 1. make sure this phone stays away from water at all costs or 2. just get a different phone. The v10 is insanely sensitive to water damage.
+M. Marita Blackney did you have a case on it? Or was it bare? Mine has an otter box, and has survived flying out a truck bed going 55 mph on accident, and landed in a puddle twice. And worked perfectly fine. I've only had it 2 months

wow. that was a big letdown. I just got a v10. I have my son the g3 so it looks like that's the only bright spot.

common sense only if there is any hole on the device most of the time it is not water resistant, especially those holes were you connect were voltage flow like almost any peripherals.

Basically a very good phone, but I wouldn't recommend buying it. Just to mention bootloop problems, freezing, random shut downs with no immediate startup capability....etc.

its water resistant but not water proof. you can use it in the rain and stuff but not in the pool

The phone is still moist from inside, the corosion will still occur. You need to open it up and clean it with alchohol

Wish I had seen this video before I bought this POS. I thought all modern smartphones were water resistant, I dropped my V10 in the toilet and it has not responded to any recovery steps!!

pick up a Samsung s7 if you're prone to water accidents. tbh the iPhones are only slightly better than the v10. pathetic that modern flagship phones aren't more water resistant

Terrible resistance. I dropped my v10 in water for 1 second, it was still working but turned it off immediately, let it dry for a whole day as preventative measures and it is now not responding at all. Garbage!
Still my fault but this "military-grade" device is nowhere near what LG advertises it to be.
