Cathedral Eucharist for The presentation of Christ in the Temple

THE PRESENTATION OF CHRIST IN THE TEMPLE
This Principal Feast Day of the church is also known as Candlemas or - in the Book of Common Prayer - The Purification of Saint Mary the Virgin. It occurs on 2 February and recalls the occasion when the 40-day old baby Jesus was taken to the Temple in Jerusalem so that Mary and Joseph could give thanksgiving for his safe delivery and Mary’s recovery from childbirth.
