I think Dan's place was in better shape. The place had been gutted so it was a case of removing the rubble. These two have a lot to dismantle before replacing. Just as well they are young.

My older sister & I were playing with a Ouija board in about 1956 or 57. I was about 9 & she was a tad older. We asked the name of the spirit on the board & it kept saying Kilroy. We thought that was a weird name & our mother came in and had a fit when she saw it. We didn't know why but she said that was what soldiers had written all across Europe, writing on walls "KIlroy was here." We freaked out & Mother took the board & we never saw it again. LOVE what you guys are doing.
Kilroy was a real person. He was a rivetour. When he was done with his shift he would mark the place he finished at by labeling it " Kilroy was here" It went viral amoung the soldiers.
There is another channel about Chateau de Purnon, I'm sure I screwed up the spelling, but they have an historical architect that said the first thing you do is to save everything which can explain the history of the chateau. I'm so excited to be along for this journey. I just adore your family,

I think you will find these chateaus have some very nasty evil history, why are there so many empty chateaus, why did the wealthy owners just leave them or have they been arrested, a lot of them were used to traffic children, handicaps and mentally ill with the excuse they are being cared

Made the mistake of playing with a Ouija board in high school ... my friend's house was already creepy with doors that opened and closed, lights and water turning on and off - "talking" with the spirit that was there was a big mistake, because her brother basically got pushed down the stairs by "someone" and injured. Haven't touched one since!

We had a Ouija board when I was a kid and played around with it on occasion. Nothing ever happened, and I think my Mom threw it away without any ill effect. Congrats on the chateau purchase! You certainly have a lot of work cut out for you, which will result in a lot of fun videos. Something I wish you would do (that I haven't seen with other restoration channels) is create a diagram of the different floors, to help orient us when you start work on a room. Just from your walking tour, that place seems like a maze!

Acrow prop the floors is probably the first to do. But then the expensive part is to do the roof and external wall repairs to make the house water tight.

I have been watching the restoration of Château de Purnon. The architects there urged the owners to be extremely cautious about everything they chucked away as there could be clues everywhere about the building's history. I'm really looking forward to watching your restoration too.
You two have to be the bravest people on earth to tackle this chateau. What a job! But it only takes one step at a time and I look forward to seeing the progress little by little.
If Dan can rebuild his chateau you have a head start. You will need a lot of grand kids to fill the space. Remember to do the most important rooms first, the biffy, powder room, toilet.

We refurbished a house built in 1762 in USA and felt overwhelmed at times but we never lost sight of the 'vision'....your job is much more daunting but you are doing the right thing no matter how long it takes!

Hi Sadie and Stan, I used to attend a spiritual development group and although very, very wary, I did pluck up the courage to join in one time when the ouija board was used (and only because I was in an energetically very safe and protected space)! It's amazing how the glass will move! One of the group had their mother (who had passed over) connect via the board. The message that came through was "I love you". Very emotional for all. It turned out to be a positive experience for me but I don't recommend playing around with these things. Unless you know what you're doing and how to protect yourself, you can't be sure what you're inviting in! Congratulations on acquiring your chateau, and I'm excited to follow your renovation journey. Thank you for showing us around your new home. I really loved listening to you playing the accordion. It brought such fond memories of my Grandfather playing his accordion. He also came from Russia as a young man. He also played the violin, balalaika and mandolin. ❤

We had a Ouija board when I was a kid and played around with it on occasion. Nothing ever happened, and I think my Mom threw it away without any ill effect. Congrats on the chateau purchase! You certainly have a lot of work cut out for you, which will result in a lot of fun videos. Something I wish you would do (that I haven't seen with other restoration channels) is create a diagram of the different floors, to help orient us when you start work on a room. Just from your walking tour, that place seems like a maze!

Acrow prop the floors is probably the first to do. But then the expensive part is to do the roof and external wall repairs to make the house water tight.
Yep, I was thinking the roof should be first, so the deterioration will stop.

I have been watching the restoration of Château de Purnon. The architects there urged the owners to be extremely cautious about everything they chucked away as there could be clues everywhere about the building's history. I'm really looking forward to watching your restoration too.

We refurbished a house built in 1762 in USA and felt overwhelmed at times but we never lost sight of the 'vision'....your job is much more daunting but you are doing the right thing no matter how long it takes!

Hi Sadie and Stan,
I used to attend a spiritual development group and although very, very wary, I did pluck up the courage to join in one time when the ouija board was used (and only because I was in an energetically very safe and protected space)! It's amazing how the glass will move! One of the group had their mother (who had passed over) connect via the board. The message that came through was "I love you". Very emotional for all.
It turned out to be a positive experience for me but I don't recommend playing around with these things. Unless you know what you're doing and how to protect yourself, you can't be sure what you're inviting in!
