Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith declared that the China-Laos Railway is a milestone in his country's transportation history and that he expects that it will promote economic development in both China and Laos. "Today, this modern railway has become the pride of Laos and its people," Sisoulith told CMG.

I can see the emotion when Laos President spoke. This high speed train is the pride of Laos people. The China-Laos HSR has brought many conveniences, tourists, and economy increase to Laos since it's in operational. I can feel emotion in Laos President's voice. Thank you China for helping Laos realize their dream of a landlink.

Felt sorry for Laos in becoming just another second class citizen and a mere passing transit system to china. It is a lot better when a country is self sustainable and capable to conduct modern technological infrastructure for their own country. This way the benefits return is greater for the local.
We made other few comments concerning this investment between Laos and china in others post because after a deep research - its clearly shown Laos hardly gain anything from the bullet head fast tracked and in fact Laos lost more from the very beginning head on since the plan. Chinese ritually brought in their own workers, materials, put higher charges on the whole process without Laos have any saying. This includes right of land along the track which now belongs to the Chinese.
Today latest updates clearly shows the confirmation that Laos economy heading down jones where Laos currency is worthless amongst the most no value money in the world worst 5 ranking. The bullet heads only brought in more lower class Chinese citizens as new settlers in Laos. A lot of this Chinese gangs up into local mafia groups and they basically have control even over the Laos authorities. Police Officials in Laos will stand there and watch Laos people being abused by this corrupt Chinese gangs as they have lost the power altogether. It was already bad with Vietnam in the past 30 years and now much worse with the Chinese labor class. Many local Laos are now forced out of their own ancestral land where the livelihood of the Laos people depends on.
No rich Chinese will settle in Laos as having fast transit train alone doesn’t mean that it is a good country to live in, we all knew it takes much more than this and therefore it is understandable when the rich chosen better neighborhood like Singapore, Malay or Thailand as their second home.
Today Laos owned so much money to their Chinese lenders for the bullet heads, younger workers of skilled and no skilled are leaving Laos and many are trying to get into neighboring countries around the region mostly Thailand, both legally and illegally. In this case poor Thailand because once again and time after time Thailand as the closest prosperous mainland country in the Southeast Asia, it is always the Thai that have to take on more hardship immigrants problem much more than any other down south of its archipelago neighboring.
So what is it that the Laos officials are doing for their people now. Are they going to continue converting the poor Laos population in becoming China second class citizen labor workers. Is it really ok for the local being forced to use yuan currency and learn Chinese ready in time for another lot of the new Chinese immigrant. Or is the Laos leaving the problem to the world help aids and Thailand once again. Where is the prime minister of Laos now because lately on the news many of them official government who can afford the cost have already fled the country. Why is it that this leaking of the real situation isn’t on the international news in Laos or around the globe and still being passed on by hidden podcast.
Every Laos people should stand up and vote to have their say on how their country should be run without being life-threatened from their own official. Otherwise, if things really left alone for too long = the boiling point can explode into similar cases like Myanmar. All of the Laos who wanted better for real Laos must get together now because the system currently in place is definitely not working at all whatsoever. 😮
