I can't find any stores near me that actually caries the Prestige AZs, just the cheap imports. I've been interested in them since like 2019, but never had the opportunity to actually play one.
Please do the Prestige level Ibanez! After owning a couple prestige models it’s hard to go back to anything not made in Japan like every guitar in this vid
I 100% agree. The comment that he made about the RGR52ET feeling more solid is amplified to the power of 100 with a Prestige or JC. I own every level that Ibanez offers in the RG lineup and nothing I repeat nothing compares to the Prestige/JC models. The neck is on a different level and the fit and finish is as well. The only thing that surpasses them are the Sugi made models but those are $7000. if I am going to spend nearly US$1500 on the RGR52ET then I'm gonna save up an extra $500 and purchase a Prestige. and just like you said, if you have an opportunity to play both you're not gonna wanna go back to that cheaper one after you play that Prestige, it's just that good.
I wonder what would Ibanez do if they are making say … Prestige AZ standard? Edit: wait I just understand something. Obviously AZ standard is below AZ premium and of course way below Prestige. This shows how fool I am lol.
@@Sparksnorthern in my humble opinion they are better. They make the az which is basically their take on a Stratocaster in 22 frets or 24 and they make them in prestige models as well so at that price point I personally think they stomp fender into the ground. i've never played anything from Ibanez as far as a single cut or hollow body so I'm not sure how they compare as far as gibson. so if you're a Stratocaster guy I would highly recommend picking up the az over Stratocaster at any price point and if you're a shredder then the rg literally comes in 1000 different iterations and is a super nice guitar at any price point but the prestige stuff blows me away. guess what I was saying is I would rather have an Ibanez over a fender at any price point honestly any day. if Ibanez follows suit with their other Guitars then I would probably be saying the same thing about gibson. if you like strictly traditional guitars that doesn't deviate much from what was available 50 years ago then you're gonna want a fender or gibson but if you like things to be comfortable and playable and you don't mind innovation that I think you're an Ibanez guy.
It is pure bliss to see quite a high-quality Ibanez released for 500 quid not even a month after Netflix did a special on Norman's Rare Guitars shop where folks pay beyond $35,000 for a single guitar. I don't think any other contrast could describe current society.
Stainless steel frets on a roasted maple guitar neck and at a great unexpected price?😲. Awesome job ibanez.👍🏾 Getting both the Transparent Turquoise Burst and Violin Sunburst version. Changing 6 point bridge to Gotoh 2 point GOTOH 510T, tuning pegs to Gotoh tuning pegs, Humbuckers pickups based on my favorite guitarist humbuckers and string nut change if needed.

@@gdawgs101 you basically rebuilding the whole guitar to premium spec just for a color you want. Just buy a different guitar with the specs you want imo

those are nice Guitars, but I agree with what the other guy said. You guys should show some Prestige and J Custom models. I realize that Ibanez doesn't have the popularity that Gibson and Fender have in that price point but show us high end Ibanez guys some love lol. Great video guys.
Stainless steel frets is the way to go. Great to see it on the budget AZ. But I am not a fan of that 6-point tremolo. They only work when they are manufactured and setup perfect (and maybe inner screws left out, Andy Timmons style). Why not just a proper hardtail bridge in an entry level guitar, instead of a cheap 6-screw tremolo (everyone will block to the body anyway)?!
Yeah I agree, but they had to cut costs somewhere in order to offer it at the price they are with the specs it has. You could throw a Vegatrem or Gotoh 510 or what have you in there no issue though and have a serious spec monster for still well under a grand.
@@ashleighellison9509 The trem is like a $200 upgrade to get a premium unit. I think y'all are complaining way too much about nothing. Have to say...I preferred the sound of the Ibanez own-brand pickups on the cheaper models here. That 7 string in particular sounded great - fantastic split coil tones. Great that Ibanez actually put a 5-way switch on an affordable 7 string; either they recognise djent guys (myself included!) love those spanky split coil tones, or they just thought why not, can increase the versatility of the guitar without much extra cost. The coil split on the Fishman model didn't sound as great, I guess they aren't the Fluence pickups with the dedicated single coil voicing. The neutral fret seemed pretty high up on the 7 string...giving that big stretch down low for chords. The multiscale 6 string was cool too with the very light fan. I remember seeing a different colour of that before on the Ibanez website, and one unique thing it had was the gold frets (EvoGold or something I believe). I did read that type of fretwire isn't being made any more which would explain why it's no longer on this model.
