Sh Hamza makes me want to take written notes & never put my pencil down. He's a vastly knowledgeable scholar, such an immense asset to the western Muslim community, masha Allah. May Allah protect & preserve him, and increase him in all that is beloved to Him.
Amin. I agree with everything you wrote.
In Sha Allah 🙏
You know, being born a Muslim is a blessing, Alhumdulillah, no doubt about it but the small problem with that is that we don't go into as much detail into our deen as we ought to. I quite recently stumbled upon this series and have been following and learning from it since and I feel a little ashamed at times to find out that we, as being born into a Muslim household, don't try to quench the thirst of Deen as some Reverts do. May Allah guide us all to the straight path and increase our knowledge, Ameen.
P.S. This man has been dispensing wisdom amongst the people for Decades now and all his knowledge has been bestowed upon him from Allah. May Allah bless him and his family and also make him successful in this life & the hereafter.

"Every born Muslim must be reconverted to Islam sometime during his life; Islam cannot be inherited."
-Muhammed Asad
I can relate
This is the true history of the compilation of the Quran but the disbeliever will always find unrealistic arguments against it. The truth remains as it is to the sincere humans who are truly interested in facts.
The Quran itself says it's a book. Muhammed died without compiling the Quran. He never paid much interest in compiling it. The abrogated verses and non-linear transmission meant that it would be a tedious if not an impossible task to compile the Quran into a cognizant set of ideas like a normal book would. The best they could do to make some sense of the compilation was to order it in terms of length of verses for a chapter. This is how stupid and illogical this whole man made garbage is.
If god truly gave you a revelation over a 23 year period and you believed it you would do a much better job of keeping the revelations than what Muhammed did. He is a scammer and those that believe the obvious lies of this serial criminal and sex pervert have only themselves to blame.
Alicia Goodluck You know kitab doesn't only mean book? this was mentioned early in the video. you're the one lacking knowledge
why do any of you bother. the veil is thick over the eyes of the deluded. never argue with people like Alicia.
so basically it predicted it would be a book - and to you thats a flaw not a mircale. lol, deluded. may Allah remove the veil from your eyes, ameen.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:28 📖 The Quran begins with "Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim" which means "In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate." These words highlight the merciful and compassionate nature of Allah.
01:49 📜 The Quran's root word is "Qara'a," meaning both "to read" and "to recite." The Arabic language blends oral and written aspects, and the Quran is the oral book before being a written one.
03:21 📚 The Quran's emergence was a radical departure for pre-Islamic Arab culture, as they had no written books. The Quran became the foundational book for Arab civilization, replacing their previous oral poetry tradition.
08:50 🌙 Prophet Muhammad's life was unremarkable until his 40th year. He meditated in the cave of Hira, where he received revelations from Allah, marking the beginning of his prophethood.
15:02 📜 The first revelation to Prophet Muhammad instructed him to read/recite in the name of Allah who created humanity from a clinging substance and taught them with the pen.
21:11 🗣️ Prophet Muhammad's early followers were those close to him, like his wife Khadijah and his cousin Ali. He faced rejection and hostility from his tribe in Mecca when sharing his revelations.
23:25 🤔 The Quran prompted deep introspection among the Arabs, challenging their inherited beliefs and practices. It questioned idol worship, societal norms, and ethical principles.
26:45 🔵 Islam emphasizes radical monotheism with no association of God with creation. The Quran's message focuses on worshiping Allah without any anthropomorphism or compromise in the concept of divine oneness.
26:59 📖 Understanding God's essence (tawhid) is central. Christians use Christ as a connection, Muslims connect through creation.
29:18 🌍 Introduction of "Akhirah" (Hereafter) concept to Arab culture challenges their disbelief in an afterlife.
30:17 💔 Qur'anic message challenges Arab values of poetry, women, wine. Quranic focus shifts from individual to societal change.
32:40 📜 The Quran isn't linear, demands submission to its structure. The initial verses emphasize acknowledging one's limitations.
36:13 ⏳ The Quran introduces the concept of "Saat" (end of time), emphasizing the imminence of death.
41:18 🔀 Change from Meccan to Medinan period focuses on societal implementation of Quranic teachings.
46:12 📜 Compilation of Quran during Prophet's lifetime, written fragments gathered and standardized.
51:20 📚 Early Quranic compilation differentiates from Bible's gradual development, protected through oral transmission and memorization.
53:46 📜 Quran Preservation: Story of scholars testing different holy books for errors; Muslims believe in Quran's preservation.
54:55 📚 Historical Authenticity: Orientalists and scholars agree on the authenticity of the Quran since its original community.
55:35 📜 Early Copies: Original Quranic manuscripts from the first century exist, such as the Sana'a and Kufic copies.
56:57 📖 Academic Acknowledgment: Scholars like Nicholson confirm the Quran's authenticity even without belief in revelation.
58:07 🕊️ Use of "We": The plural form is a majestic expression, not indicating multiple gods; Christians and Jews understand it similarly.
01:00:09 📜 Lost Copies: Some ancient Quranic manuscripts were lost or stolen; historical significance of Quranic copies.
01:01:05 📖 Paradise Described: Quranic description of paradise includes immense pleasure and a taste of ultimate delight.
01:02:12 💧 Quranic Protection: Muslims believe the Quran is divinely protected from errors and transgressions.
01:04:11 📚 Quran Memorization: Hundreds of thousands of Muslims have memorized the Quran; it has promoted literacy.
01:08:12 🔢 Seven Variants: Quran has seven dialectical variants based on pronunciation differences; consensus on no doctrinal changes.
Thanks for these time codes! some clarifications on the Arabic terms: 29:18 Akhirah (not AHA) refers to the afterlife, and 36:18 Saah/Saat (not Sam) refers to the final moment

Reported by Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As (RA): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The one who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: 'Recite and ascend (in ranks [i.e. rank in Jannah]) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite."

Here is a list of Muhammed's wives and concubines. It clearly shows Muhammed lusted after beautiful women. Haddiths are clear he even stopped copulating with his older wives. He lusted after his own daughter in law. He had concubines! That his filthy, lying ISlamic scholar not only denies this but gives a different narrative that has no credence whatsoever in Islamic scripture and traditions is clear proof that Muslim Scholars are the servants of the devil.

You do realize you're talking about something that was socially accepted and commonplace in that era in many places in the world. Her father, who happened to be the Prophet's best friend, wanted her to marry the Prophet (SAAWS) because it was an enormous honor to be his wife. You should open your mind and think outside of the standards of today's society that you have been taught. Things weren't always like they are in the era that we live in.

I led the prayer and I recited Warsh because I'm Algerian, instead of saying WA, I said FA, in Al-Shams chapter in the last verse. people started correcting me even though I pronounced many words differently and my Fatiha was clear to them that I'm not reciting Hafs! When I finished I gave them a brief explanation that I was right because I recite Warsh not Hafs
Yes i believe everything he said is true. Why? because he based his facts on the Quran. The Quran has not been disprove no matter how many people and thinkers tried, it is basically impossible to disprove the Quran. I know this because scholars and priest in my church has tried to find mistakes in the Quran to present in lectures but they couldnt even find one and they started arguing with each other because they start suggesting lying about the Quran and distort interpretations. I see this as ridiculous they couldnt find any fault with the Quran. I saw it with my own eyes and that concludes that the Quran is from the supreme being, the creator and muhammad was only the medium God used to passed down the message in the Quran. I pity christians especially westerners, they doubt they own religion and start blaming their confusion on islam in order to say that every religion has a flaw. NO islam does not have any flaw. Islam is the truth. Just put up with it ok.
+Non God if u understand about all this reality can u tell me that u are muslim right now?
+haroon khan but he says muhammad is a little god naujubillah
ALL MUSLIMS live with the fact that Muhammed died without compiling the
quran. His claimed one and only miracle was the quran is false. If he
lived another 50 years, he would continue to receive revelations. He
died without compiling the quran. The quran itself speaks of the quran
as a book.
Further, his talk is littered with lies as Muslims are apt to commit when they speak of their religion. While wine was eventually cancelled, the love of women continued and actually increased as slaves were allowed. Men could have up to four wives and as many concubines as they wished.
Muhammed always had the best choices for women that he enslaved. He was given sex slaves too. This scholar is a damned, Satanic liar like all Muslims are.Just take a look at the list of Muhammed's wives. He was a vile and evil man that would rape his slaves on the same night after murdering their entire village and family.

Exactly . The Prophet (asws) was given the choice to live a few more years, but he chose to die, because he had finished his mission and the revelation of the Qur'an was COMPLETE : there was NOTHING MORE to add to it and Allah (swt) mentions this in the Qur'an itself. He couldn't wait to be finally close to Allah (swt). 😢
This is SO GOOD
God bless Sheikh..we are lucky 😊
8:39 some scholars also says that the environment of mecca for the infants was not suitable so the Meccans would send their children to desert arabs and their women would breast feed these infants.
Its interesting how close Islam is to the theology of Thomas Aquinas, for both stress the unknowability of God, while simultaneously stressing that we can have analogical knowledge of God from creation itself.

jazakom Allah khayran,,, and the voice of athan is most beautiful,,,,Masha Allah ,,,,,
This day, I have a discussion with a non-Muslim about the authenticity of Qur'an and Bible, and my impression is that the Qur'an has been preserved from the time it revealed till this day (and the days will come) while the Bible has corrupted and fabricated that, we can say, the Bible being used these days is not the same with that of the time it revealed. But I cannot backup my conclusive impression of the Qur'an with detailed story how it was being compiled, and my discussion with my Christian brother for this day has brought me to ponder out how the Qur'an compiled, who compiled it, when? And were there any disputes among the companions of the prophet when it was compiled into one book?
This is, I believe, one of the great things about discussing through internet as I can do my research before giving my respond as indeed my knowledge is limited and I have to ensure that my respond has authenticity in it in order not to bring confusion not just to my non-Muslim brother (whom I am discussing with) and also to myself.
May Allah (swt) shower this man and people behind this [took this video and/or posted this] with blessings as this video indeed is helpful and informative.
English is not my first language hence there are few passages in his speech that sound unintelligible to me, I hardly determine if these passages are Arabic or English.
In Shaa Allah, if this YT channel wants to repost this, subtitles better be added for non-English speakers like me, I already used the auto-caption but there are written passages that don't match with his speech.
I surely watch this again to remind me of the authenticity of the Qur'an thru the academic perspective.

You have to give up desire to really read the Quran I love that
Some of the best hufadh are Malaysian women... I wouldn't disagree.
Ask any Muslim (esp in Muslim countries), they would know a hafidz or even many hufadh... and may have a close relative who is one. I have a nephew who is a hafidz.... Took him about 4-5 years, 114 chapters, 6326 verses, 8815 lines of words... 604 pages.
It always blew my mind.
I find it very amusing that most hafiz have no idea of what the quran actually says
I bet you can train any parrot to be hafiz
but no bird will ever understand any human language
@@worfoz Amusing because....? "Most hafiz have no idea..." - Actually, how many hafidz have you met in your neighborhood? I myself think that most hufadh are very unlikely to be just parrots. Most proceed to higher level - i.e. Quran tafsir/exegesis degree in academies or universities. To be a hafidz, one most likely to have a higher IQ, and most of hufadh are very unlikely to just sit around at the mosque, scratching their balls, doing nothing. In my neighborhood, many hufadh are degree holders. Some even have masters and PhD.

and IF you prove them wrong, they have these idiotic excuses about their "scientists" because reading book is like magic to them

we watch muhamedans and see what they do, we ask them to explain themselves and always find that they can't.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:15 📜 Traditional Muslim activities begin with "Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim," the first statement in the Quran, signifying "In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate."
01:11 📚 The Quran is rooted in Arabic, a language built on trilateral roots, introducing multiplicity from unity, and it's considered inexhaustible.
03:21 📖 The Quran is the foundational book for Arab civilization, marking a radical departure from their oral culture as the first written text in the Arabic language.
05:12 📖 The Arabic word "Quran" means both "to read" and "to recite," emphasizing both oral and written aspects.
08:50 🌄 Prophet Muhammad's early life was unremarkable, characterized by trustworthiness and kindness, but that changed when he received revelations in a cave.
14:48 🌠 At the age of 40, Prophet Muhammad received his first revelation from a being, initiating his prophethood and the revelation of the Quran.
20:56 🤔 The Quran compelled people to self-reflect and question their idol worship, challenging their cultural norms and beliefs.
25:22 🔴 The central theme of the Quran is "Tawheed," which means the worship of Allah without any association, making Muslims radical monotheists.
26:59 📜 The Quran is considered the speech of God in Islam and is seen as an attribute of God, but it's not considered God incarnate as in some other traditions.
29:33 🌄 The concept of the Hereafter (Akhira) was introduced in the Quran, challenging the Arabian belief that life ends with death.
32:02 📚 The Quran is not revealed in a linear sequence, and understanding it requires surrendering the desire for linearity.
36:24 ⏳ The Quran mentions signs of the end times (As-Sa'a) and considers the Prophet Muhammad as the first sign of the beginning of the end of the world.
39:25 🧠 Memorization of the Quran is highly regarded, and it's believed that memorization in youth is more effective than in old age.
46:12 📜 The Quran was written during the Prophet Muhammad's lifetime, but there was no standardized collection.
49:10 📝 Differences in pronunciation and writing of the Quranic text led to efforts to standardize its written form, initiated by Caliph Uthman in 658 CE.
52:54 📚 While a written Quran is important, the primary means of preserving the Quranic text is through oral transmission, with those who memorize it serving as guardians of its accuracy.
53:20 📜 The Quran is viewed by Muslims as a preserved and protected book since its early days, and they consider any alterations or mistakes in it to be a grave transgression.
55:07 📚 While there is some debate among scholars, there is evidence to suggest that parts of the Quran date back to the early first century of Islam. Some copies, like the Sanaa manuscript in Russia and another in Egypt, are believed to be from this period.
56:30 🧐 Many scholars, including non-believers in divine revelation, accept the historical authenticity of the Quran as the book that the original Muslim community heard and saw.
57:26 🗣️ The use of "we" in the Quran when referring to God is a linguistic feature called "royal we" and is understood as a plural used majestically, not indicating multiple gods.
59:01 📃 The Quran is seen as a sacred trust by Muslims, and they believe that God alone has taken it upon Himself to protect the book, ensuring its preservation and accuracy.
01:03:18 📖 Muslims take great care in memorizing and reciting the Quran, with many individuals and communities committing the entire Quran to memory.
01:04:11 🧐 The Quranic text is considered sacred, and the idea of introducing mistakes into it is seen as a profound transgression by Muslims.
01:06:11 💬 While there are regional variations in the recitation of the Quran, these differences do not alter the doctrinal content of the Quran and are accepted within Islamic tradition.

Righting them down as they were revealed and trying to insert new verses in between would have been a very inconvenient and tedious task. John joe for someone so convinced of the inexistance of God, you sure are spending a lot of time on this particular video! You are an atheist and seem convinced in your belief or lack thereof. We are monotheist and are convinced in our belief. To each their own. You no more superior to me than I to you, only how we conduct ourselves as human being in relation to our surroundings be it socially or otherwise, can really distinguish you from anyone else in this world. Peace be upon you.
I hope it will not be late for you, and I urge you to read quran again, and life of prophet muhammed. In the end you are free to believe in what you want.
The Arabic triliteral root for 'Qur'an' is ق-ر-أ and not ق-ر-ي like Sheikh Hamza Yusuf said.
@theperfectionist: He did mentioned this @5:01.
theperfectionist as far as Im aware the أ hamza is never a root letter. Its replaced by either the weak letters ي or و
I am from Pakistan and there are hundreds and thousands of Madrassas in Pakistan , I know about a man who is a head person of couple thousand madrassas and from his madrassas alone close to a hundred thousand students graduate yearly memorizing Quran.

islam rejects humanity, because humans are body, mind and soul, we are trinity
but animals are not
Salamalaykum. Does anyone know what book Shiekh Hamza is using in the lectures?
The root word is Q-R-' (ق-ر-أ) ء (hamza"t") =' ; the root verb is Qara'a (قَرَأَ) = to declaim, recite; to read; to peruse; to study.
Unfortunately, when he speaks about "the city", I think confused the hamza with the the consonant (yaa' = ي), the verb root Q-R-Y (ق-ر-ي) gives the verb Qaraa (قَرَى) = to receive hospitably, entertain someone. The noun Qarya(t) (قَرْيَةٌ) = Hamlet; village; small town; rural community. Sometimes wrongfully translated as City, city in Arabic is Madiina(t). The two types of tri letters are not the same, I think confused the hamza with yaa'.
He uses too much internet, here we say `England is our city`.
IO think hamza is gay, not confused but on the run for his gayness
I think confused the hamza with yaa'.
ha hahaa
I deleted your comment, again
lol
Hardly nothing wrong with the Internet, if anything is wrong, it is about not confusion or errors, but it should be the leaden and self-odious minds that are certainly not confused, nonetheless agonise a failed coloniser and a vapid colonised inner-city!

Because the fully revealed Quran does not have the verses in the order they were originally revealed. Angel Gabriel informed the Prophet (PBUH) where to insert the new verses when they were revealed. Part of the wisdom behind that is the order they were revealed, might not be appropriate now. The Quran has a unique order of verses unlike the Bible or any other human literature.
subhanaAllah may Allah long live shaykh Hamza yusuf A,meen
Mashallah, you are really good speaker.
may Allah bless you brother.
Your arabic accent is better than mine, Lol
Please guys pray for me to memorize the Qur'un.

Wher is the other session? I think there are 5 sessions?
Any civilization is based on a vertically divine act that spread by a horizontally human effort that spreads its eefects.
Hadiths were written 200 years after passing of prophet
they were compiled into books known by us today...not originally written 200 years afterwards.
There is no contemporary account of the life of Mohammed to prove this rosy picture of the Prophet. However his teachings credited to him proved another character of the Prophet.
The life story of the prophet was written from the oral tradition which takes a life of its own when orally transmitted from one generation to the next.
And his sayings were written a few hundred years after his death.
Even the earliest compilation by Abu Bakr , given to Hamza the daughter of Uthman , and not to Abu Bakr own daughter , Isha -- the mother of the believers , cannot be found. This on itself looks fishy.
Neither can any of the 5 original copies compiled by Uthman be found to compare with what we have today.
Therefore we have no record of Muhammad from the people who lived with him.
@@rajdialnandram5676 No record? Have you heard of the hadith tradition and criterion used to evaluate them?
i'd have to disagree there. at least 0.5 to 1% of all muslims have memorized the quran which is a lot more than a few hundred thousand
Amazing
Can I get text form of this speech.so that I can understand by reading till I know thecontent
I would like to bring to attention the subtitle are so wrong it could give a non Muslim wrong meaning please take care of it jazaqallah
There are numerous verses in the Quran where it is called a book. Arabs
never had a written language. They were the most barbaric people in the
middle east and never had a written book in the entire history until the
quran was compiled decades after Muhammed's death.
Why would god send revelations to such a people? Oral traditions are far lacking when compared to the written word. The only reason the Arabs memorized was because they didn't have a written language. It was not because oral traditions was better. Memory loss and differences in dialect make oral traditions a very poor substitute. The truth is Muhammed never bothered with compiling this largely contradictory and largely nonsensical book of garbled fables.
About 70% of the Biblical stories in the Quran are traced to gnostic writings with Syriac origins.
Quran 70:36 (Quran is a book)
So what is the matter with those who disbelieve that they hasten to listen from you (O Muhammad SAW), in order to belie you and to mock at you, and at Allah's Book (this Quran).
hello I dont think the subtitle is that wrong but it needs fixing indeed.
Can anybody give me total background story of every verse in quran as revealed chronologically. Thanks in Advance.
Shaykh Hamza Yusuf is wrong when he suggests that it was Kierkegaard who first stressed the unknowability of God in the Christian tradition. There is an ancient Christian tradition, particularly apparent in the East, called the apophatic way, or the way of negation. Thomas Aquinas expresses this quite well: "We cannot know what God is, only that God is". Herbert McCabe (the great Aquinas scholar) argues that Aquinas was the most agnostic theologian regarding God's essence.
The last two verses of Surah Taubah had only one witness??hmmm and when the Quran's math code was discovered it was the the exact two verses that stood out not fitting the code. The discoverer claimed that it was inserted in the Quran.Food for thought
Anyone know how angel jibreel gave the verses to Muhammad saw

@1:02:16 the Prophet was not a sexualist by any means, and people who say that, it's a gross disservice to His character. Because He was not....His wives were elderly women, they were widows and orphans, with the exception of one.
muhamed was a sex crazed mass rapist, controlled by his urges and needs. He even told you that you can have seks in the afterlife
because he was not a human, humans are body, mind and soul, we are a trinity
but muhamed was controlled by alla, his sex demon, muhamed even raped a child, because alla told him to
muhamed was not a prophet, the pagans who say that are disgusting and they suffer from hybristophilia
He openly educated use of slaves women for sex.... And did the same was caught a number of times.. Read hadiths... Shame

Actually sayedhasan the words are kalimatuh alqaahaa ila maryam (a.s.)...referring to the message mentioned in surah aal imran v. 45, so it means the word i.e. message from Allah to Maryam a.s. as given by the angels. The word 'alqaahaa' denotes upon that. And none of the mainstream muslims believed the Jesus (Esa a.s.) to be the literal word of Allah swt as you have stated.
Q&A session 57:09
Is the life and existence of muhammed based on any historical research or are we just believing in him existing becuz scholars said so ?
Plllllzzzz answer me
Lol there are letters made and signed by the prophet Muhammad. It's a historic fact that he existed, even atheist scholars believe so.
It's one thing to doubt the historicity of Abraham and Moses, but Muhammad definitely existed, evidenced by the fact that we found letters and signatures from him, and even his adversaries speaking about him and a growing concern, such as John of Damascus.
There are seprate mention of Prophet Mohammad even by name coming from arabia in some works written in Africa ,written in 634 ad within 2 yrs after his death by Christian ,
Today there are over 31 different Qurans, and those he mentions are all different. More to that they disagree with the one which is from 20th century
31 are total no. of thinkin cells inside ur brain...good luck
31 hahahahahahahahahahahaha
