  • Bosses everywhere! I'm in Heaven!
    As J8-Bit explains:
"The main goal of Boss Exchange isn't quite meant to be a proper fangame more than it is to be a showcase/portfolio for bosses I've made for other people, whether it be as my part of an art trade, paid work as a commission, a collaboration not meant to fit within a specific fangame, or simply a boss made just for fun."
    That's a very interesting concept!
I had already tried out Boss Exchange 1.1 (some of my footage is from that previous version, as identified during the respective boss fights) and now I'm very glad to see that the bosses keep improving in creativity, visuals and challenge in Boss Exchange v2.1!
5 playable characters with their own playstyle and special weapons!
Another amazing feature is that one can also play as Proto Man, Roll, Bass or Sheep Man (whaaaaaaaaat)!!! This adds a ton to the replayability factor, since each character not only has a different default approach, but they also come with a different set of special weapons! Hooray!

This is a fangame developed by J8-Bit, the same person who created Mega Man RAM (that explains Sheep Man being playable!).

Great job overcoming this feast of interesting ideas in your usual satisfyingly precise manner. If I had to pick one that really stood out to me I'd say it was the Goodra Devil, substituting the customary blocks with a stampede of Goomy and Sliggoo is an amusing spin on the concept.

So many fun boss fights, DZ3! I really appreciate all that diversity and creativity. Many encounters felt special, and I was feeling like a kid in a candy store!
Some fights flow realy nicely, combining engaging dodging maneuvers with plenty of windows for attacking as well (eg Crash Man, Elec Denise, Mint, Portal, to name a few), while others can be quite chaotic and RNG-heavy, giving one a run for their bolts to get a No Damage (eg Yago)!

This concept wouldn't be out of place in _Make a Good Mega Man Level 3..._ whenever that actually releases.

Wow, is this like a sequel to Mega Man RAM? I loved RAM and will probably play this too.

I'm glad that you got interested, LL!
It's a project from the same person who created Mega Man RAM (J8-Bit), but it's not a sequel to that game. This one is more of a boss compilation. There are 33 bosses that you can fight whenever you want, they are isolated fights. There are 5 playable characters (Mega Man, Proto Man, Roll, Bass and even Sheep Man), and each one has their own set of special weapons!
      Lots of replayability!

I love a good boss rush, will make sure to play it!
Oh, and finally managed to complete my X2 no damage run, after billions of failed attempts at that terrific gorilla robot.

Honestly Capcom could just grab a few of these build some levels and we'd have MM12 😂🤣

That would be amazing! We have some very good bosses here!

Gee being able to dodge everything must take quite a bit of practice and memorization but once you get that down i think this challenge becomes a lot more doable.

      That’s right, Nekonomicon!
It’s like that old riddle: how to eat an elephant? Answer: One bite at a time!
By dividing a task into parts, and then dividing those parts into even smaller and simpler parts, one can handle quite well what at first looks daunting! 33 bosses? Fine, let’s tackle each one at a time. Since this game works as a boss compilation, we can also skip some bosses that look too hard and come back to them later. This allows us to experience every single boss, even if at the moment we still don’t know how to beat some of them.
And, of course, this whole video is based on a set of self-imposed restrictions. There are plenty of special weapons to use and different playable characters as well (Proto Man, Bass, Roll and even Sheep Man!). Also, if one is still struggling, it’s possible to select the stage 000 and get E-tanks and W-tanks.
There are plenty of ways to modulate how one can play this game. I hope you can find a combination that better suits your style!

@@foxinyellowsocks4997did Dystnine use Total Blackout on you in the video?

    • @foxinyellowsocks4997
      @foxinyellowsocks4997  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Wow! That would be interesting, Arthur!
Dystnine doesn't seem to have Total Blackout in this game, but that would be very cool! At least some nerfed version of that special attack, since classic Mega Man has a more limited moveset than Copen. That could be fun!

It'd be better if goodra devil was made to take more damage if shot near the eye (cuz the traditional devil-type boss has the weakness at the eye)
For example, takes 4 damage at the eye, takes 1 damage when shot elsewhere

Oh yeah, Bob! I love this Crash Man!
Good variety of attacks in a fight that flows amazingly well! We are always moving around the arena to dodge his attacks, while also having lots of windows for hitting him! And we gotta love how menacingly he enters the boss arena!
