    I have the Exsence 2021 for seatrout fishing and JDM Vanquish for brown trout fishing, I really prefer the solid higher resistance 0 freeplay substantial feel of Exsence over the Vanquish featherlight spin. The higher power drag, better bearings, more grease etc is all there for specifically salt water fishing.

    • @ifishcatfish
      @ifishcatfish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      assuming u watched the video and u understand the differences... it depends... I can see a scenario where the Exsence would make sense for freshwater. I hate the high gear ratio but i love the all black look. If u don't mind the higher resistance and higher gear ratio and prefer the look - thats totally fine. Also, if some website has the exsence significantly cheaper than vanquish, they again it would make sense to go that route. Mayte there are other scenarios. I pointed the differences. Then its a matter of whats more important for you.

    Great review as always, thanks for the good content!
    PS I actually recently got the reel myself and made a short video on it too. The one thing I disagree is that, at least for me, it feels like a much stronger reel then the vanquish. True, it is very similar to the vanquish, but it is a saltwater reel and the more sturdy handle gives the reel a different feel. Here is my video below if you want to see it:

    Hi Victor, recently started watching your channel and it is quite refreshing... esp. your laid back matter of fact delivery. I recently bought a Luvias 3000XH from Digitaka and it noted Made in China as opposed to Made in Japan. I found out from further research that the 1st batch was MiJ but later batches weren't. I'm sure this is just an assembly thing right as all parts will be sourced from wherever it can be made cheaper/better? - comparative advantage (economics). Like the iPhone is made in China/Taiwan. I am looking at adding a 3000 size Luvias Airity and Exsence (maybe Vanquish also) based on your reviews. Keep up the great work!

Yes! Much lighter and design aesthetics is even more beautiful. Hands down to daiwa here, they make the most beautiful reels that beats Shimano.

      for Bass, i would go with the aluminum frame of Twinpower. Some extra security during boat runs and high stress hooksets. The exsense is more finesse.
      If you are used to heavier weights due to bass fishing, and for me 1/8 is very heavy, then you will indeed prefer the Exist Airity. But try tossing trout magnet on 1/64 jig head and you will find the extra resistance annoying.

    Hi Victor coming to you from Vancouver Island where I have much salt water experience. Magnesium corrodes very easily and looks bad in short order. Generally it adds about a $100 per reel.ight strong but will turns to dust used In salt water. Freshwater no problem at all. Also it seems like plastic chrome is to big of a expense for Shimano and Daiwa for their customers. I miss the good old days with luxurious plastic. chrome. Hope this helps any confusion.

    • @ifishcatfish
      @ifishcatfish  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Certate is a heavy aluminum reel, comparable to Twinpower, not Exsence. Daiwa doesn't have a reel like the exsense. Their reels are either aluminum for heavy duty, or carbon for finesse. This is on a magnesium frame, that is in between in terms of strength and weigth

    • @Justin-wf7op
      @Justin-wf7op 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Luvias airity and exist have magnesium body. I have a certate it is by far the smoothest reel I own, second is the Exsence , I own the model before the one in your review. The cI4 Exsence I had got geary after 2 years of light use, I got rid of it, it was really just a ci4+ Stradic with a couple of extra bearings and a different paint job. I played with the luvias airity in the shop I can confirm it is super smooth like certate just much lighter.

    • @Justin-wf7op
      @Justin-wf7op 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      TwinPower XD is the aluminium body version of the Exsence. It was the same in the previous models also , Exsence magnesium TP XD aluminium body, TP had also had a carbon drag.
