Why do celebrities need to publicize what meds they take or strategies they employ to get or be healthy? I wouldn't expect my best friend to divulge such info. Why should anyone expect someone famous to? They're allowed to have some privacy.
She likely said that because there is such judgement around weight and weight loss medicines. Look at the backlash they receive when they disclose the truth. In addition to that, it's no one else's business. She's not required to tell you what worked for her. Besides that, everyone's weight loss journey is different. Just because something worked for one person does not mean it will work for you. There are plenty of people who have used the shots and it did not work for them. Others did keto, IF, etc and what works differs person to person. So from that standpoint, it does not matter what she did because it may not apply to you anyways. Until people stop being shamed for their weight and then being further shamed for how they choose to fix it, they will continue to not disclose the full story.

I'm glad she finally admitted it. She was saying earlier that she changed her diet and was walking a lot more since she moved to New York City.

They would twist everything without knowing why she took the drug in the first place. And on top of that, taking a drug like she is, you don’t just lose the weight, she definitely had to change her diet and exercise like her doctor said. She never lied because she just didn’t disclose the medication part of it.

I dropped 30lb in 2 months just by cutting out all soft drinks and sugar. I was 44 at the time and did not change anything else in my diet or me level of physical activity which was zero to begin with. Of course everyone's body is different but it made me realize that sugar intake was a HUGE contributor for weight gain.
So Wegovy or Monjauro or Zepbound. Why hide it?
I'd say Mounjaro since she's been on it for a while and it's meant for prediabetes. Zep is just a rebrand to gain FDA approval specifically for weight loss and that didn't happen until Dec 2023

Saxenda? It helps hormonal weight gain. Nothing helped my mom until the saxenda. We are not rich and I know insurance covers it for my mom
Yup! I would rather use weight loss meds to get to a proper weight then use meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and other illnesses caused by being overweight. Advanced science is amazing and is a great tool. Glad she finally got healthy and is enjoying her weight loss. She looks 100% better and probably feels better too. If I had the money I would do it also. Eventually the cost will come down and there will be pressure for health plans to start covering it because they see what obesity does and how much it costs all of us when there are so many Americans who are obese and on medications.

women with insulin resistant PCOS exist. i've gained 20lbs in such a short time and i'm an active person with poor eating habits. i'm on metformin because of my insulin issues. ppl should understand that there are other aspects of blood sugar control and diseases that affect it as well as weight
I too am on metformin and have lost 10kg as I was diagnosed a year ago with type 2 diabetes. I have been told that once I lose another 10kg that my diabetes status should go back to normal.
But that is not what she lead the public to believe. She initially made it sound like she got fed up and decided to start eating right and exercise but it was the drug that made her lose so fast.

I’m glad she did what she did to help with her sugars, but it’s because of this celebrity weight loss hype that I can’t get my medication as a severe type 2 diabetic because it’s always out of stock. This medication needs to be reserved for people with a medical need first before weightloss need.

Back in 2021, I was misdiagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, not only once but twice. In my case, I was losing weight quite quickly, even before my diagnosis. I was and still am a relatively healthy person. I was overweight many years ago, but this was around about the time I was healthy, so when I was losing weight, I wasn't aware of it. I was given a medication called 'Gliclazide' I was told by my doctor that it stops the body from taking the sugar. I live in the Uk, so I was 12 stone 5 lbs and I went down to 9 and a half stone, through not only personal stress that I was experiencing at the time, but diabetes was not helping either, so there was no sole contributor it was pretty much, 'all the things'. I was told about my new diagnosis last year, I now have "LADA" which is a latent type 1 diabetes, I take long and short-acting insulin, and certain medications and have a sensor as well, which helps a ton! Well, that's it!

In this instance she's done everything right and I respect her for that. Having pre- existing conditions of thyroid and diabetes she was in the care of a doctor when this came to light. He advised her wisely with the medication. She also made changes to her diet and livestyle changes talking about it in a positive mannor! I think she looks great! " You go girl"!

A family member of mine avoided the doctor for YEARS until it all came to a head in the ER. They were placed on thyroid and diabetes pills. She also changed her diet! That combo helped her lose over 80 lbs so far. And the diet is important, no matter what.

We ALL knew she was full of crap saying "it wasn't ozempic, but I made lifestyle changes" and just outright choosing to lie about something so obviously apparent when you lose weight that quickly... And it's not just a massive insult to the intelligence of people who follow her and have similar health struggles, but from everything else she said, it sounds like she mainly functions under some kind of lifelong commitment to denial; something I've always suspected of her. Constantly ignoring or minimizing her health issues, saying how nothing bothers her when it comes to her body. Then why lie? Oh "I was a little overweight". Over 200 pounds for 5'3 is not a little. And just downplaying the fact that she was pre-diabetic. She's always seemed to act like it's more important that she doesn't show it bothers her than acknowledging it wasn't good for her to ignore her doctors for years.

My thing is, if you're going to be such a public figure and you choose to discuss your health and engage in a conversation about it, don't also choose blatant dishonesty in the same stroke when it's such a serious topic not just for you but for other people to discuss and get information about. It's just such a disregard for people who aren't protected by the celebrity bubble and just wanting to keep her image intact, which is so hypocritical when she portrays herself as this champion for real women and body positivity. It would be no surprise to me that she's just always been a plant... And Hollywood pays for that.

When something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Back in the early 80’s I took Dexatrim, not to lose weight, but to help ease hunger pangs because I could not afford an adequate diet. It worked fantastic, but of course, turned out that one of the ingredients was causing hemorrhagic stroke in young women. So the formula changed, and so did it’s effectiveness. I really wonder about this Ozempic, and it’s off shoots. Time will tell.

Maybe metformin? I have insulin resistance and pcos. Started taking metformin and started losing weight quite quickly especially since I was already eating healthier and exercising. It was a side effect rather than the intended use. It helped keep my glucose levels in check. Lots of people have health problems we don't know about and there are a tons of treatments she could be using that are not Ozempic.Quit speculating!

I too was prediabetic once and that's the first thing my doctor prescribed to me. She also said it's something that helps her body 'process sugars correctly' which is exactly what Metformin is for. Everybody (the people accusing her of taking Ozempic) wants to know what she took so bad but if she actually came out and said it they still wouldn't believe her anyway because the truth isn't always so glamorous.
Edit: and to be honest it's nobody's business but her doctors and herself. A lot of people are too entitled and nosey these days.

No way she was 203. I’m a similar height and weighed a little more than that years ago before I lost it the old fashioned way! Diet and exercise. It took me like 2 years to lose 70+ pounds.

I have a friend who's 5'3 and whenever we met up, back then she was at her biggest and told me she weighed well over 200 pounds. But she also has a few health problems that have made it tough to lose the weight and keep it from bouncing right back.
Regardless of whether she's taking shots or medication to assist in weight loss, it's not a magical solution for shedding pounds; it's merely a tool to aid in the process. Kelly likely maintains a healthy diet and, as she mentions, engages in regular walks around the city. I trust Kelly's honesty with her fans; however, weight loss ultimately relies on discipline. You can try all the magic pills or shots, but success comes down to having the right mindset.

She admitted she uses a semaglutide. It’s just a different brand from ozempic but essentially works the same way. She just didn’t want to reveal which brand. But when you are on this type of drug, diet and exercise is important otherwise you will lose muscle
She uses it by her doctor's recommendations for several thyroid issues. She has also incorporated exercise and working out to her regimen.

I have the same health problems as kelly. I have hypothyroid and my weight goes up&down.
I was fit got diagnosed with hypothyroid at 28 (thyroid problems not making alot of hormones).
I was going up & down up&down.
I got pregnant and after my pregnancy It has been hard losing the weight ... I eat healthier I live in Chicago which makes it worst because winter here is brutal. But now that is summer I am more active. I have a toddler son now and he walks everywhere I take him to the park I walk around my neighborhood with his stroller I eat healthier I don't eat junk food it's been hard.
But I've notice I haven't gained or lost any weigh I am still in the same weight that i hate... I talked to my endocrinologist and she said most patients with thyroid issues is hard to lose it. I am pre diabetic and thats why I left the junk late night snacking and it sucks because I have a sweet tooth 😢... I love sweets and it's just been a roller coaster of emotions...

I was 246lbs. Healthier eating choices and exercise helped me. Also getting out of a marriage that wasn't working too. I never heard of the weight loss Rx Mounjaro. I will talk to my doctor's to see if it would be good for me. After two Gestational diabetes pregnancies I am 50% more likely to get type 2 diabetes. Also my Grandma had to take insulin daily. That scares me too. My step mom took me to a nutritionist that put me in a casein-free diet. It's been very difficult to follow. I did not find out until 50 year's of age that I'm lactose intolerant. It's been a journey for 8 year's. Glad to know what I know now. Thanks. Kelly and Oprah. You're women people trust to look up to.

I’m not sure why there are so many negative comments here on why she didn’t “admit” that she’s on medication. Sad that we can’t give celebrities grace where health is concerned. Furthermore, she said she was pre diabetic then waiting another 2 years before addressing it so, for all we know, she could have become full blown diabetic by then. If it has similar side-effect profile as semaglutide (minimal) then it's a good thing. Being obese is terrible for your health; even if there are some side effects to the med if you take it to the white board the pros may outweigh the cons. Just don't lie and say you did it without prescriptions, which she isn't. Good for her.

Why do celebrities need to publicize what meds they take or strategies they employ to get or be healthy? I wouldn't expect my best friend to divulge such info. Why should anyone expect someone famous to? If you ask me a nosy question, I might lie too. They're allowed to have some privacy.

In all honesty I love Kelly Clarkson but working in the industry and I myself can say. She more than likely did not use medication. This is from either gastric bypass or gastric sleeve surgery. I was 300 pounds and in 2022 has vsg. And now I’m at 160. I’m also 5’3. Kelly, this doesnt seem like the truth is not medicine. Medications are horrible for weightloss. And if it is a medication it is more than likely not FDA approved.
Everyone already knew. She was just confirming what was quite obvious. Glad it works for her. Not everyone is that lucky. I hope she doesn’t end up super skinny like Sharon Osborne.
I mean, happy for her, not hate or anything but then.. we , the “unimportant” people with similar issues that we diet and exercise and fast .. never get anything like that on prescription unless we are nearly dying. But for a celebrity help is available regardless of how overweight they are. I don’t think she was too big. But yeah, we’d love the doctors to help any of us, hormonal issues, pre diabetic is nothing if it’s about us, normal people..

It’s a pill to help her break down sugar since her body doesn’t do it correctly. She has never once said she doesn’t listen to her dr and she’s losing all this weight on her own. Just cause someone doesn’t discloses their personal health profile doesn’t mean they are denying or hiding or lying. She literally said in the video she’s taking a medication. This is the first time she ever has addressed it and it’s coming from her lips! So why would she say that if she’s “lying?” Where is the lie? Lol.
