Always a huge fan of your style! However, when giving suggestions keep in mind that City living won’t accommodate a piece of furniture such as a dresser. Better if you give suggestions for smaller areas too! I can’t wait to hear these same ideas but for small areas! ❤
We reuse our bath towels two-three times between laundry days, therefore a towel bar is essential for them to dry out between uses. I also keep several rolls of toilet paper visible so whoever might need that next roll will be able to find it! Your other tips are spot on.
Absolutely. I like to hide ugly things, but a towel ring is essential imo so that the hand towel dries between uses. I honestly don’t think hooks look that much better than bars-hanging towels look kinda messy! I need the hooks for hanging clothes or bath robes anyway. 🤷🏼♀️
Agree towels need to dry if used more than 1 day
My big family can't keep which towel they used straight and sorting based on color or label just gives me another job to do, so I will be trying laundry baskers out.
I agree with having the TP out. I don't want company to have to ask for a new role in the middle of a get together. Same with the plunger, I keep it out by the toilet for the same reason, so no one has to ask for it and they can be discreet with their bathroom break.
In Netherlands my son has hooks, and they seem to dry out fine. He had bulky towels, too.
How do you get your wet bath or shower towel fry? When it’s hung up on a pile in my climate it never gets dry. So towel bars are a necessity. You know, I really love to keep the bathroom neat and cute. However, it is a utility room. We live here. It is not a showroom. Sometimes I find those designer tipps a little far from reality.

Love Valentinas style and tips but as a family of 4 where does she suggest we hang the towels up to dry after a shower? It’s not always about style it’s practicality that I’m after too😊
I use the towel bars to air dry my delicates. I would never remove them
Clean fresh towels on your towel bars are key to a fresh bathroom. Towels do not dry as fast on hooks. I have both. Plus if you do not have towel storage in the bathroom you need a towel bar to put out fresh towels in a bathroom.
If a towel in on a hook or on the counter I think it means it has been used and is not clean for anyone besides the person who put it on the counter or hook.
We have a very luxury bathroom that was here when we moved in. There is a hook on one side and a towel bar on the other and I must say, I much prefer the bar to the hook. The towel looks less messy and dries a lot faster. I think crisp white folded towels on a bar looks attractive. I also find it difficult to hang a towel on a hook. And my kids usually give up with the hook in their bathroom and just let it fall to the floor.
I carry a small fabric tape measure in my bag. It’s great for when you see something unexpectedly and you don’t know right away if it will fit. Also very handy for clothing.
I also have a note in my phone with measurements of where I’m trying to fit. Those great pieces always seem to find us when we aren’t looking 😆
My Pillow has the best towels!!! Along with the pillows, the towels are amazing and the best.

I have hooks and towel bars in my bathrooms. I find the towels on hooks do not dry well and get stinky. I prefer a bar.
Great suggestions! I’m in the US but travel quite a lot. I will say in US bars are almost a necessity because we use thick towels that need to dry in btw uses. In other countries I see a lot of hooks but the towels will be much thinner like Turkish cotton and have a loop to secure on the hook. I typically don’t see the circle holders esp for anything other than a hand towel. Always interesting to learn how everyone does things .. Happy Friday!
I am the opposite of you. I cannot do hooks. I hate the way it looks. It looks messy and too casual for me. I like having a nicely folded towel on a bar.
Always in the mood to organize! Especially the bathroom! A Container Store order belonging to someone else was delivered to me, which customer service said I could keep. The organizers were a godsend at the time for bathroom organization. I think it's time for me be more deliberate about what organizers will work best for me, but I will be forever grateful for the unexpected help at the time. When we moved to our current place here in Denmark 7 years ago I got us towel rings and bars for the bathroom. I think I was influenced by my south African friends. But now we are back to the hooks for all the towels. It leaves us with the casual but very cool Scandi vibe you already know so well. Thanks again for doing your videos. It’s my HYGGE time, Friday evening with a G&T an “Friday with V” 💛
Here in Europe, I grew up in the 70s and 80s with towel rings in my parents house. But nobody uses those anymore. Not for decades. At least here in Europe.
It's funny isn't it, I'm in the UK and have considered towel rings to be really old fashioned and dated for many a long year!
I'm in the U.S. and I haven't seen towel rings for years in anyone's house. I grew up in the 60's and I have always associated towel rings with "old-fashioned". Towel bars are much more common.
Very timely as I am ready to declutter and reorganize my bathroom. On towels; they must be hung on bars or they will not properly dry which results in mildew. Yuck. Steam from the shower can damage art so choose wisely when selecting for the bath. Great content and ideas, Valentina. Back in time, the bathroom was called, “The Necessary.” 😂 Because it IS a necessary room. Why not make it pretty and organized. Have great weekend.

Really great video with lots of useful tips - many thanks! Just for clarity, though, Marie Kondo doesn't say if you haven't used it for a while get rid of it, she says if it doesn't "spark joy" when you hold it in your hands thank it and then get rid of it. The last step is that everything left needs a home. An approach which I feel is very much in keeping with this video.
Oh - also - I live in the UK and we are very much a hook family (not a ring or bar) but we also have a bathroom radiator ladder which we hook the bath towels off on the sides (so that they dry out in winter!) and on a lower bar put the hand towel and bath matt straight. Makes it all very nice an toasty on a cold winter's morning.

I love in CA, USA. I had to downgrade from a 3k to 900sq’ home. Can you please do videos on nice storage ideas? I have two young adult boys at home and only one bath. A tiny kitchen that also serves as a laundry room. I created a pantry in my dining room that sits right off my kitchen….I cook a lot! The kitchen is my happy place. I am renting and I’m allowed to paint but not the cabinets…I already asked!😂. Floor is all large cheap light pink tiles. I deal with it! We’ve become masters at decluttering but we still have quite a bit that is used daily or weekly. My bedroom looks like a storage unit! I’m still downsizing as reality sets in more.❤😂😊

My experience with Ralph Lauren towels is the same. My towels are over 20yrs old.
Restoration Hardware has a beautiful large vanity mirror with a medicine cabinet behind it. It is my favorite bathroom storage item.
For Towels I use a rustic blanket ladder leaning against the bathroom wall to hang body bath towels on the lower rungs then hand towels towards the top as decorative but functional alternate to a metal towels bar.
I like to decant my mouthwash into a beautiful bedside carafe/tumbler set😸

Great tips! For plastic organizing trays I love and highly recommend the Home Edit line from Walmart! I was organizing my office desk drawer with their ‘Office Drawer Edit’ I received yesterday, while listening to this video 😊
Edit: They also have a ‘Bath Edit’ 10 piece set, love it! But agree with Valentina, for deeper drawers, deep trays will maximize the space

Bathrooms are very hard to organize when they are tiny! I can’t stand clutter but there is hardly room in our bathrooms for anything!

I do not like a stack of towels in the open in the bathroom, I think they don't stay very fresh. Just the dampness, and hair flying and splatters from the shower, sink or what have you. We have hand towels hanging by the sink of course, but take a clean towel/facecloth out the closet before a shower or whatever.
It is amazing how you come up with new ideas for homes and clothing fashion so often. I for one would ALSO eventually like to see YOU do videos on:
balance and how the eye is pleased by flow, balance, color / warm verses vivid or bold colors;
how and why design scenes should have things “pop.”;
Picture (personal, family+++) walls or displays;
about furniture that transforms for: small areas , for multiple use rooms, extra storage;

Flower arranging and how to make them look real, keep them fresh/new looking;
Guest rooms and what they should and should not have(?);
And maybe a show on each type of home - country, beach, contemporary, “Frank Lloyd Wright (spell);

I prefer a towel bar, so the towel is able to air dry in between use. The rings used for hand towels never cared for them.
Unfortunately, towel hooks do not work for me. I like the look of them, but my towels simply do not dry on them. I have small bathrooms that are used by many people so I found the nicest towel bars and a matching towel train rack and I think that it looks nice. Plenty of room for fresh towels and also towels to dry. I do love Pottery Barn towels. I have had mine for years and they still look like new. Worth the investment. I have organizers in my vanity drawers and a pretty tray on the counter to hold some items. I want my bathroom to look pretty, but it has to be functional as well.
Reading the towel comments, I guess it depends where you live as far as towels drying on a hook. I love a towel hook and my towels dry. I do live in a dry climate. I think it looks better, my kids can hang their own towels, and they don't get thrown off center. I see towels on bars off center most of the time. Either folded differently, one end pulled lower, off center. Drives me nuts.
I have done ALL of this and agree and love these tips! I need a clean and organized space that is still functional, and all of this checks those boxes.

Enjoy your videos so much! With reference pics, buying links and easy suggestions to make things prettier one room at a time. I don't like towel bars either, thought it was just me. In a large family its hard to keep everyone's towels straight so re-using them doesn't work for us. I would rather just wash them. I was wanting to get more art work and now a basket for used towels with a lid will make it easier for the teens (a mom can dream). I found the prettiest baskets to put the toilet paper rolls in and one for skin care products to make it more stream lined and the warmth of the basket makes it more cozy. I need to redo the medicine cabinet thinking of a mirror that lights from behind or built in.
I love a good declutter of my vanity and keep my bathroom clean and white but accesorise with good color in my towels.thank you as always for your inspiration ❤️

In Europe we put out towels on heated towel rails. I like hooks too...
I also don’t like the look of towels on towel rods, they almost gross me out, but we are luckily that we have a small wall on one side of our bath room that holds two rods, one above the other, and they hide behind our door when it’s open. Practical and mostly out of sight 🙌

My advice use one of those nice Crate and Barrel round planters, you will love it.
I go through my bathroom drawers/cabinets and get rid of anything I haven’t used since the last time!! I usually give to friends or throw it on the curb alert site on Facebook!

In Canada, there is still the option of towel bars...there good for drying bath towels.... but i personally prefer a square towel ring for hand towels.... i replaced the towel bar in my powder room with this bc a towel bar was just too big for a small towel in a small space..... Lowes has amazing options ..
As for wall storage i got a cabinet with a door for over the toilet from Ikea .... i prefer stuff hidden in drawers/cupboards...open shelves can look cluttered.... so try to match wall unit to wall color if you want it yo disappear...and p.s. make sure you secure it well if it's over the toilet

Agree about the rings and bars. Want to rip mine out, except builder backed them with wood support, so it'd damage the drywall. Whole bath needs remodel...so their days are numbered.

Ok the one thing I have to completely disagree with you about is the towel rail. Hand towels on the sink look so messy and unfinished to me. I always want a rail for better airing and drying.
I don’t have a hamper at all. I just take my washing straight to the laundry.
I always store my extra toilet paper in the vanity within easy reach.
I'm renovating my whole house! What are your thoughts on in between the studs bathroom storage and hamper in between the studs?

I agree with the towel bars. All the years of being a renter they always had those hideous plastic long towel bars --- over the toilet, along the other wall too and it drove me crazy! First off, towels DO NOT dry having to fold them on a towel bar... hello, whomever designed towel bars!!!??? Makes no sense - especially in a bathroom with no windows and just a (worthless) ventilation fan. We do, however, have to hang wet towels so I have a nice rack of 3 hooks that was probably intended as a wall coat rack in the bathroom fairly high up on the wall but it looks better and takes up less room on the wall than those long towel racks. I actually have a cool wooden ladder too that I have some of my clean towels on so they are always ready, but it's out of the way and not for display. I only ever buy white towels and washcloths so it looks very monochromatic and blends into the white wall anyway. Therefore, I agree, towels are not decor. I have a few "holiday" themed hand towels that were gifts so they'll get put on the counter for Christmas in the guest bath, but they are not a focal point or hanging up.
And why would anyone have TP on display?? Ugh! With all the germs flying around the bathroom, that's just entirely unsanitary 🤢 yuck!
I have WAY too many toiletries and overstock of things I order in bulk which saves money and time, so I have a whole extra closet for any and everything personal care related for that which doesn't fit in my main bathroom cabinet storage.
And a cool little item I stumbled upon on Etsy - a little decanter (like those for olive oil and vinegar in the kitchen that are glass with the metal tops with pouring spouts) but for mouthwash in the bathroom! It came with a label stating that it's mouthwash I could either use or not, but it's so much more attractive than an ugly listerine or scope bottle!
I enjoy organizing overall but once I'm in the mood, lookout, because I'm really gonna purge at that point 😂
I have a two tier stainless shelf on the sink with above small hand towels for drying hands and below a basket to toss the used ones in. I hate drying my hands on an already used damp towel. I will use my personal bath towel more than once, probably 3-4 times but it gets hung up and dried before then discretely hanging from a hook out of sight. I don’t like thick American towels, preferring thinner waffle weaved towels, also because they dry swiftly. I agree about having a bathroom clear of clutter and all surfaces spotless.
